  • why Paris? confused

  • "The show..." 2.49. Apple events really are "shows"!

  • I like my windows phone. :D

  • I can't believe this was in 2006.

  • @GamesAndTechTV That's because it wasn't in 2006, this computer was announced in 2004.

  • iPad Giveaway!

Heres the link: applegiveaways.co.cc Thumbs Up if you got a Apple iPad 2!

  • Oh phill, you still look and sound the same. I thought this was one of those videos that have a different title than what it is.

  • i just ordered one. used but in good conditions. 2.1GHz, 1.5GB RAM (soon expanded to 2.5GB). now waiting for arrival... i already love it :-)

  • I don't think that there's really any other desktop computer in the world that could ever be better designed than ANY of the iMacs, starting from the G4 to present time.

  • @NicksLocker

Absolutely, but even G3 is more beautiful than lots of PC's today

  • @4pplicator That is sort of true. Even the old CRT iMac can look a bit better than a couple of PCs today.

  • @NicksLocker

I agree. Even to this day there aren't any good designed Windows computers.

  • No gigabit ethernet? Lame.

  • Great Video!

    Crystal Thomas Appleton, WI

  • that's design..

  • The iMac G4 looked the best. I still find the new ones with their chin kinda ugly, definitely better than the iMac G5 but still kinda ugly.

  • @4izm0v I am inlove with the G5, I love it more than the new Imacs, I am gonna buy 1 for sure.

  • @RoShAnOWNEDyou I wish the iMac looked as slick as the Cinema Display.

  • @4izm0v That'll probably what the new iMac will look more like

  • @4izm0v The iMac G5 is probably the most hideous, the new ones are MUCH better and much nicer looking, but the iMac G4 is the best design they've ever come up with.

  • Phil should've been the new CEO.

  • My dad asked me that...where is the computer?

  • watching these videos makes my life meaningful

  • iMac g4 was better.

  • I thought the g3's design was far better. Steve even said that shoving the computer behind a flat monitor was a bad idea.

  • @WeEatBrainz it was a bad idea at the time but years later those issues were worked out. Though the G4 looked best of all iMac.

  • 15inch imac

  • I wish phil took over apple, or atleast the keynotes

  • I hope phil is the next CEO i love the guy

  • R.I.P. Steve Jobs

    We will miss you dearly.

  • To be honest, I really thought Phil will be Apple's new CEO, if anybody understood Steve's idea and respected them, it was him... :)

  • @Merc140497 Plus he is at least interesting to listen to and has a lot of enthusiasm, compared to Cook's obsession with numbers and %

  • At the last day of his life, he transformed himself from iCEO to iGOD

  • I so desire one of these to add to my collection..

  • @almann1117 eBay, babe.

  • audio volume..low? (shruggs). cool memories though..cheers

  • YES !

  • OMG it's almost mid September!!

    Again :P

  • 3:18

    And inside the new iMuac...

Phil pronounces iMac as iMuac haha

  • this is were apple ran out of design ideas with the imac, adding aluminum isnt a revolution design, (but it looks really cool) besides that apple really needs to do a new redesign for the imac

  • @ttMikee its already down to a screen and a stand... theres nothing much you could "revolutionize". unless you can get it to float in the air with some kind of anti gravity thing. you can get rid of the stand

  • @EcoDimension yeah, but I just like to see something new from apple, (besides the iOS devices redesign ) I just don't want to see the same design for the next 10 years.

  • @ttMikee agreed. the difference have been minimal since the first alum iMac. guess their focus is on their hot sellers.

also their product design have been closely link to their themes of that period. from the beginning white/candy color acrylic to white/clear acrylic to pure white to metallic to metallic with black bezels(current) . what do you think is next?

  • Thumps up if your watching this on an apple product.

  • @1goldenchongo2 15" Macbook Pro.

  • @zamardii12 64gb ipod touch 4g

  • @1goldenchongo2 27inch iMac

  • Comment removed

  • thumbs up if you are watching this in 2011 :D

  • what a piece of shit

  • @Digijedi569

yeah, not upgradeable, underpowered, and the apple os update cycle means it will be in the bin in a few years

  • why the hell would u want the power button on the back

  • @jro9001 Why would YOU want the power button on the front?? Cuz you keep shutting down/starting up your Mac?

  • @HellYeahhhhhh thats so mac users wont freak out where the power button is. like kids in my school have montiters with power buttons on the back and they freak out u see wat i mean?

  • No Jobs, no Fun...

  • which pixel is the firewire port?

  • It is now made to aluminum body

  • @spartan117ism NNNOOOO!!!!

  • iMac G5 Has intel and

  • lol just like the human centIpad =P

  • lol h

  • screw it and put it back togheder lol

  • question, is it compatible with a G4 cube?

  • @ghoulia21 that's a mac not a display

  • 2004 year:1899 dollers

    present day:99 dollers

  • phil schiller still looks the EXACT same :)

  • @Ceasar1030 Phil Schiller is an android. Mac OS X based of course.

  • @Ceasar1030 If you look at the macworld 1998 keynote he also still looks the same :)

  • Why dont they introduce products like this anymore?

  • After he introduced the prices, i was wondering. Is this during a time when the American Dollar was worth more than the Euro?

  • I'm watching this on one of these right now. And yes, when I first saw it, I asked: "where is the computer?"

  • its so interesting to go back and watch how the desktop has evolved.

  • But can it run Crysis?

  • @7600p36 in those day no consumer market based pc could

  • I never use my new iMac to the limit so I decided to get one of theses

  • basically a big iPad with a stand...

  • @hcvang Not even close.

  • WOW A NEW IMAC, wait why we cheering at its design it still looks the same..

  • 6:23 It's easy to put in wireless and memory and then screw it...

  • that is to thin, you can cut your self if your not careful

  • is it nesscery to have so much space at the bottem of it?

  • Low sound. I need to turn speakers up to 100%

  • Ya ours to

  • holy sh*t that looks mighty think compared to my brand new iMac '27 inch.

  • how come the ear phone jack, usb, fine wire, and so on are verticle on mine the plugs are horizontil

  • @iza2098 You have a newer model.

  • @iza2098 thats a G5 maybe yours is an Intel

  • @Hellhelium11231995 whats the diffrents

  • @iza2098 the difference is, it is a different processor inside! You know how today we have Intel and AMD CPUs right? yea but apple didnt use Intel before 2005 i think or 2006, they use this CPU called the PowerPC CPU which was made by Apple, IBM and Motorola. So the iMac G5 had a different design. And yours is an iMac with an Intel CPU.

  • it's so simple!

  • thats seriously exactly what i said when i saw one of those for the first time. "where's the computer?"

  • The 'Jay Leno' G5 :)

  • when steve introduced the g4 he said they couldnt put a superdrive in the side. so what do they do 2 years later?? put it in the side wtf?

  • @MetallicaBoy1997 most likely because technology caught up LOL, heck most computers in 2002 didn't even have a DVD drive let alone at DVD/RW super drive they where still early in the market, the professional Quicksilver Power Mac line where the first computers which could burn & play DVDs introduced in 2001, technology clearly caught up and the drives could be rotated

  • how come they slagged the g4 design? that was an awesome design!

  • I wonder if IBM still make processors? Do they have anything better than a G5 now, something that FLY like...er, I don't know...

  • @adamshiftyelso Yes, they do. PowerPC is still alive and well, and what Apple would have called the G6 is being used in several supercomputers.

  • @drygnfyre imagine a 5ghz G6 ppc macbook air

  • steve jobs can only presents apple products

  • The white Imac is gorgeous when you see it in person, it's very zen and looks like a home computer that fits in with any decor, where as the aluminum is still very gorgeous as well, but looks very professional and industrial. I think Apple should never have discontinued the white model.

  • lol i bought 2 imac's i got a g5 and now the newest one there so good!!!

  • Damn! I can't wait until i get my hands on one of those! Only 2 inches thin?! Thats as thin as paper! 17" display?! Thats frigging huge!!!!! I can't wait until they come out this September...

  • Comment removed

  • @kukulis2323

    it wont work

  • I don't care if it's thin! I just need it to work well!!!!

  • @VRTO92 IT DOES! Just get the new i3 one!

  • @Jk981206 dude ... I'm saying that design doesn't look much for me ok?

  • @VRTO92 Oh, okay. Well, then what computer do you have now?

  • @Jk981206 an imac i7 duo-core xD I love apple.. i just don't care much about design :D I just need performance! what would a computer be if it wasn't powerful enought for stuff I do! i kno! mac got good design .. good performance! I don't mind paying a little bit more for the design .. because what u get is... just.. AMAZING!

  • @VRTO92 Well, now you can have design and performance, right?

  • @Jk981206 YEAH! that's why i bought the imac :D because the performance realy stands out !!

  • @VRTO92 It's true, right? They're always a few years ahead of the competition!

  • @Jk981206 yeah that's pretty true!

  • all mac user are anorexic...

They just want to be thin, thinner, and thinnest...

  • @pufixas

    I am quite fat.

  • @DementedElvis

    me too!

that's why i'm getting mac for christmas :D

  • Interesting how ahead of the times this thing was really. Back in 2004 you'd be lucky to find a SATA PC off the shelf. Hell, it didn't seem like the PC industry cared that much about SATA till around 2006-7. You could still buy PC's with IDE drives up to a few years go, when Apple had already moved entirely over to SATA for their hard drives. Same with USB 2.0, Apple were among the 1st to move to it totally, took a few years for the Windows side (and SP1 for XP).

  • how many times are people going to laugh at that shitty joke ! "our back is more beautiful than the front of any others" they used it in every single introduction to a new apple computer. no joke, EVERY one

  • @ Gameboykd u r probably running it on boot camp on a mac then!!!

  • @TheLegomaniac25 no im running it on my hp mini 210 1010nr. cute little netbook for CS 1.6, word processing, and internet.

  • @Gameboykd Why do you say this in a vid about an iMac

  • The one thing that killed many G5 iMacs was bad caps but beyond that they are still good computers.

  • I wish they have a "G6" version... It just sounds cool with thier "AirPort" wireless!

  • @djw3sly Look at the IBM POWER6 and POWER7 CPU's, those things are BEASTS! They're aimed at the server/supercomputer/workstation market though rather than the consumer market that Macs are aimed at, which is why they moved to Intel, who focus more on the consumer market. It would be seriously awesome to have a PowerMac G7 though with 2 8core 4GHz PowerPC CPU's though! I think MrBit10 would jizz himself if that happened lmao.

  • 4-5 years ago: people hailed at a 1.86GHz G5................. Today, people wanted at least 3Ghz, Intel Core i3 and a 1.8GHz to them only belong to netbooks!

  • @djw3sly I require 4 ghz :D

  • Good memories :D

  • The ventilation on iMacs has been done really well. They run really cool, and silent when idle.

  • This completely contradicts everything they said wouldnt work in the iMac g4

  • it's a great design, but I prefer thw G4's design

  • @LittleEmoBoy001 the problems are there was no temp control for fans so they were loud and some had leaky capacitors

  • What was the problem with this model? I heard it didn't do that well.

  • @LittleEmoBoy001 It did fine. The cooling for the CPU aint that good (noisy), but overall - great computer.

  • @bathellfire

I heard they expedited the intel version because the G5's kept failing.

  • @LittleEmoBoy001 The main reason was because IBM was not developing the architecture in an ambitious way. It was holding them back. At the time there were significant performace difference for the same power being consumed by the equivelant Intel.

It also meant increased compatability with x86 software allowing boot camp for one of many benefits.

  • @Gr33nMamba

But can you confirm whether or not the thing about G5's failing all the time is true?

  • I just bought this computer for my kid on ebay for just $250 :)

  • @bathellfire lucky kid...

  • @GCkidd my 6 y/o kid has an iPhone 3G too :) It's my old one, that he now uses as gaming and music device.

  • @bathellfire wow...it's amazing how intelligent kids are technology wise these days. $250 is a friggin steal for a machine like that....thats about £175 where I live...

  • im working on a 20inch imac G5 right now.... LOVE IT!!!!!!

  • no Steve, no fun!

  • i love the imac g5 but i got if off ebay and there were startup problems so i had to wait 30 minutes to be able to use it again. Then in between that time period it would die!

  • i ihave the inc one now that the see it crane a year ago and apple put in a new motorist not old but you see apple just put in a new motherboard and loco Bord and sound Bord so it not that old but i cant use goose chrome i am using chrome on my PC

  • @krogerman1 Goose Chrome? Loco Board? LMFAO

  • @vantageIIx bord

  • I have this same exact iMac only it's a G5 20".

  • Yeah... Cheers and awe. Then they found out that Apple goes low-bid on their parts just like everyone else. Bad caps on the MB and in the PS and they're dead.

    Revolutionary!!!

  • i like the presentation methods better with the older products apple made!!

Thumbs up for the iMac G5, rasing from below

  • is funny this was on 2004 now in 2010 you see the all-in-one pc of hp and they say the future of computer is here

  • @Carlosmashiado they should say "the past of computer is here"

  • ...and I'm a PC.

  • He tried, but Steve is the best on stage.

  • Theyre all freakin out xD

  • My family still use an eMac, unfortunetly it's not that good anymore, cuz it got hit by lightning :P

  • holy crap! this is when the US dollar was worth more than the euro! and not that long ago either!

  • Im using mine now!

  • I still have this computer, except its the Intel Core Duo version (24") that came out in 2006. It works just fine, but its not my main machine because i am a PC!

  • Iono, this guy is bad selling apple products. Only steve job can pull it off.

  • Hahaha, Apple Fanboys/Girls just cheering for life in the background.

  • 2.8 ghz quad core i7 with 16gb ram and a 2 tb hd.

  • So, why does my 'old' G5, WHINE so loud??? anyone??? (help!)

  • Wow, a whopping 2 GIGABYTES OF RAM, NO WAY. Yep, That's more than somebody will ever need! (I'm here, typing this on a 24" iMac icoreduo 2.66ghz, 4gb ram)

  • "2 inches thin." Oh yeah, my iMac is less than 1 inch thin! :P

I love my new iMac. Never switching back.

  • @LeGiiTWillie my iMac is over a foot thick

  • @LeGiiTWillie shut up

  • these are still brilliant computers. There still usable. I use mine for internet, email and movie editing. Brilliant computer!!!!!

  • Liked and Favorited

  • 36 people own a microsoft computer

  • @savakucherin microsoft doesn't make computers.

  • @vantageIIx crap i got mixed up. thanks for pointing out my mistake though
