The Enterprise B. Is slightly different from the Excelsior. As noted before, the warp nacelles are different. In addition, the transwarp drive (a failed idea from the original Excelsior) was removed and replaced with a regular warp drive.
Well actually, the model is the NCC-1701B Enterprise. That version of the Enterprise was an Excelsior-class starship and featured in the movie "Star Trek Generations". So technically the 1701B Enterprise looked liked the USS Excelsior you may have been referring to.
@mjhlim Actually, the Enterprise B was a refit Excelsior Class. The refit was given a 2nd pair of impulse engines and the scoop that had surrounded the deflector dish. Supposedly it was given the ability to have a saucer separation hence the reason for extra impulse engines and a battle bridge was included as well.
Yeah, I'm with you on that on one locutus2370. If I had a slightly more powerful computer, I would have used the Enterprise-E or the USS Voyager models rather than the Enterprise-B. I try to push my computer to the limit, but not break it in the process! :)
I rendered this a while back a couple of years ago on an AMD 1.8GHz CPU, 512MB RAM, with an ATI Mobility Radeon 64MB graphics card.
Yeah, there are about 5 or so dozen internet sites that are devoted to giving out these models. I thought I saw some nicer ones than this... But still, nice vid.

Look closely at the bottom of the neck, it has the fins there and minor changes were made to the nacelles.

Great work man, but the Enterprise-B is still just butt-ugly compared to the other ones.

@locutus2370 I beg to differ. The Enterprise-B was my favorite before the Enterprise-E came along.

Nice. did you make the model yourself?
Uberisk 5 years ago
No I didn't make the model myself. Downloaded the model from a website somewhere (can't remember which one) and did the animation myself.
