I don't care which one of those won, which engine is in either one, or any of that. I REALLY like the fact that from what I saw in this video, BOTH cars ran dang close to each other. More than some of the other "challengers" can claim. Monte Carlo all the way!

Click my name & watch plenty of my uploads that very same night from a different camera & other goodies! Listen: the 5.3 is NOT a 305 or 323!! The 2006-07 Monte Carlo SS has the legendary LS 327 5.3 (LS4) & it's actually shaved "2" due to the FWD app. so in theory its a 325!! It has the same displacement as the vortec 5300 but its an aluminium block. It pumps out 303 HP @5600 & 323 ft·lb @4400.

@DatDudeEZE you're an idiot. a 305 is a 5.0 demariojason got it right with his post...that motor that's in the newer monte is a common motor in the newer trucks too...some people need to get their shit straight before they talk...
Those stock v8s in the 80s Montes made like 180 hp. Not good for a 3500 pound car. I had an 86 SS that I had to put a 350 crate motor in, got it to around 300 hp. I really liked the last generation of Monte Carlos, except for the last two years when they made the front end look really generic looking like the new Impalas. But the Impala looks boring all the way around. At least you knew a Monte by its back end. Real nice car dude, its a shame they dont make her anymore in favor of her cousin
Oh I love Monte Carlo's. Too bad GM didn't make them with a Manual in the recent models.
