This is the 8 track player I owned! I got it toward the end of the 8 track era. Never really used it a whole lot. Ended up selling it at a garage sale for practically nothing.
The major problem with 8 track was due to the single spool operation. The played tape was pulled form the center much like cleaning wipes today are pulled from the center of the tube.
Due to this design, it was impossible to rewind back to the beginning of the song.
You had to always fast forward throught the whole set of tracks to hear your favorite song again. This made them extremely impractical in the long run.
lol in my car i have a 8 track player, but my indash radio has a casette player but its broke so i found a underdash cassette player and then a under dash 8 track player on top of that i have my CB radio wired next to it
Got one of these, it needed some work to make it work decent but it seems to play and record pretty good now.
