Sad. There are animal free circus shows. People need to get educated more on animals go through to get to the level where you see them at a show. Lots of whipping, poking, forms of deprivation and humility.
No, what I'm saying is that some Circus' treated their animals horribly, while others treated them like kings. We loved our animals, most of which were adopted from various shelters.
I was actually part of a travelling circus for a while. The animals live and are treated just as well as the people. It's wrong to judge a whole genre because a few people screwed up.

Rigorous training methods involving electric shocks, beatings, and food deprivation are used to force animals to perform acts that are unnatural and meaningless to them. THAT IS THE ONLY WAY OF ACHIEVING THIS. And you say it didnt go on.....why do you want this kept a secret if youy are no longer with the circus????????????
