This is true for all of the main characters in the live action movie:

1. Their acting is uninteresting and does nothing for the characters

2. Their REAL personalities, simply because they posses some LIFE and it's not bad acting because it's obviously real, turns out to be more likeable and believeable and MORE like how we would've wanted the characters to be like than their "acting" ever was.

It's such a shame, it makes me have a low opinon of the 3 leads' acting ability

In terms of looks she doesn't resemble Katara even a little. The actress that played as Princess Yue, Seychelle Gabriel on the other hand was gorgeous and looked like Yue. Nicola Peltz is average at best in terms of looks and acting? She acted nothing like Katara! So she made it up neither regard. Katara in ATLA was BEAUTIFUL in the Fire Nation attire, I can't imagine what Peltz will look like in it. I will seriously throw up if she wears it. BTW Katara is supposed be Inuit.

Well, it is a adaptation. Cartoon's about toys like Transformers get a proper live action adaptation but ATLA doesn't. ATLA was far from a "decent" cartoon, and it has won many prestigious awards - including an Emmy Award.

Like I said, Katara isn't white, she's Inuit. The Northern Watertribe and Southern Watertribe is based on Inuit culture. Katara's hair loopies are actually based upon an actual Inuit hairstyle.

I loved the movie and wanna write that down here so everybody can see it. Don't watch it with expectations to see every single detail from the cartoon it's impossible, a whole season fitting into 1/2 hours. Accepting the movie as it's different, I loved it, it was visually great, fun, the music was great, aangs flashbacks were very emotional, all in all it was awesome i wanna see it again too.
