My father was a police officer in Canada and Canadian cops are probably less corrupt than American cops.....and even so he said you'd be lucky to find one in a hundred that didn't abuse his power for personal gain. Plus I'm a psych major and we did a whole unit on the fact that the only people who want to become police....are those that shouldn't. So with these things in mind....I'm guessing that the vast majority are corrupt in any country. But not all.

In Taiwan, we lost a scooter once, a long time ago. One day the scooter was found by the police. My father told me when the police came to inform him about the scooter, the policeman WAITED until my father realized he should offer a red envelop ($) until he would leave.

So until this day, I have no faith in TW police.

I know there are some good policemen, but IN GENERAL they bully weaker people and are scared of people in power.
