I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (December 5, Advent 2), we sang this as our closing hymn. It is #254 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship. However, we sang it to the tune, JEFFERSON, composed by W. Walker, Southern Harmony, 1835. It can also be sung to WERDE MUNTER, composed by Johann Schop, 1600-1665 and arranged by Johann Sebastian Bach, 1685-1750.
