  • I enjoyed these videos very much. They touched on the "meat" of this matter. Clean up your christian (any religious denomination) and help your species, be human. I read a few of the previous posts and also KNOW its human to want to stay just the way you are....

  • very cool video,,thanks

  • Awesome movie! Christians gotta stop being used by media bias

  • "A lie is a lie even if everyone believes it. The truth is the truth even if nobody believes it." -David Stevens

  • The Roman Church inverts the truth with exquisite skill. It pontificates about the rights and wrongs of sexuality whilst all its own temples and holy places are awash with explicit images of a semi-naked man, dying whilst nailed hand and foot to a cross. We are expected to believe these images are in no way sado-sexual of course. Likewise idea of ceremonially eating the body of said human sacrifice and drinking the blood has anything at all to do with cannibalism. Give me strength.

  • @ritchloui I don't know of anyone, much less any Christian who has looked at crucifix and seen it in a sexual way. That is possibly the worst criticism of the Catholic Church I've ever heard, and I've heard pretty terrible arguments on both sides of that debate. And no... The whole point of the Eucharist is that it's a spiritual transformation. I assure you there is absolutely no flesh and blood in the physical sense involved.

  • @soccermanunknown LOL “That’s probably the worst criticism of the RCC I’ve ever heard” – “.. terrible argument”. Look, sado-masochistic sexuality is generally all about torture, violation and mind-games. You don’t see the connection with explicit images of a semi-naked man nailed to a cross because you’re immune to it. You’ve twisted the obvious defilement of a human being into an icon of its opposite. This is darkness and confusion. I loath Islam, but prefer their designs. Odd.

  • @ritchloui Sure, if you make it that way, then it's sado-masochistic. But that would be like saying that any artwork depicting torture or pain or war is as well. If you believe in Christianity then you believe that what is being depicted actually happened and is one of the most important events in history. Out of context, sure you could be right. But people don't put crucifixes in churches for some twisted sexual reason. If you don't believe in Christianity, then I'd be worried too if you had...

  • @ritchloui artwork of mostly naked men being tortured. But that's simply not how it's interpreted either by the artist or by the artwork's Christian viewers--the audience for which it was intended.

  • @soccermanunknown How do you know how endless depictions of a semi-naked man nailed hand and foot is interpreted? Personally, I think the images are in very poor taste. The Roman Catholic Church has a strong history of gratuitous torture and sexual cruelty, so I’m pointing this out in their iconography. Mind you, Islam is still slaughtering people and yet to have its fangs pulled. I think Iran is the crucible for that particular show down.

  • @ritchloui I know because I am Catholic, and I'd never considered looking at the crucifix in such a manner until you mentioned it. Second, because I've talked to other Catholics and I've never heard a single thing linking the cross to sexuality. I'm not going to try to defend the Church's history. It's an institution run by men, and like any other such institution has made mistakes in its past. That's a very valid criticism. The crucifix, however, can only be viewed that way out of context.

  • @soccermanunknown Don't worry, I'm pulling your leg a bit. Nevertheless I don't like the iconography. The RCC is really into heavy, blundering idealisations and demonisations. It can become very ugly and creepy. I'm sure there are better ways of creating inspiring spaces. As I said, I really love the 'Islamic' architecture and aesthetic. However, I must point out that Islam itself is the Arab slaving ideology and the Quran is a slavers' handbook. Arabian Arabs, 2,500 years unremitting slavers.

  • @ritchloui I think I was in a bad mood when I posted that first comment anyway. Sorry, don't normally let that get to me. Anyway, what do you mean by "blundering idealisations and demonisations?" I personally love Gothic and Baroque architecture, and having been to the Vatican and many famous cathedrals, think they are absolutely beautiful. Never personally seen any famous Islamic architecture, but would love to as it seems fascinating as well. Every society has had slavery at some point :/ Sad.

  • @soccermanunknown The point to remember is that Islam is nothing less than a slaver ideology. The Arab slave trade is of enormous magnitude in human history. Islam is truely a despicable 'religion' enforced by a barbarity even the Spanish Inquisition could barely emulate. Beheadings, maimings, mutilation, stoning, ear clipping nose clipping, flogging etc.Even FGM has followed Islam out of Africa. Only one type of civilisation in history actually sought to abolish slavery. Remember that.

  • @ritchloui This is mostly out of curiosity, so you don't have to answer, but what country are you from? I ask because having met people from various countries, their experiences with Islam seem to have influenced their view of it. Islam has been made into an abomination of a religion by many people, but Islam is not the only religion for which heinous crimes have been committed. You also have to remember that there are Muslims who practice their religion very peacefully.

  • I think the awesomeness of the whole documentary is that it encourages discussion and respect for every one. I hope that it is not misrepresented as proselytism. thank you for the upload.

  • LOL WHY ARE THE TELETUBBIES THERE?

  • For God so loved the world that he gave his only and unique Son so that everyone who trusts in him may have eternal life, instead of being utterly destroyed. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world but rather so that through him the world might be saved john 3:16-17

  • @8246371950 Bullshit!

  • @8246371950 Bullshit!

  • @8246371950 lol idiot

  • You can see more of the movie here on youtube slash watch?v=wHJusqz8XCY

  • War on Christmas? I grew up Christian, and never felt like there was not enough Jesus hype in December. Did the director stop to think that the lack of a nativity in a restaurant isn't exactly censorship? Does he want Baby Jesus staring at him while he eats? The holidays are about family as much as anything, not about having your religion catered to you all the time. He's right with the Easter Bunny case that church-state separation can be excessive, but that wall's usually there for a reason.

  • I like the director. He's a good guy. But this God he worships is not a God of love. Jesus said a few nice things, but his overall message was divisive, contradictory, and introduced the threat of infinite punishment for finite crimes. If you accept the Old Testament as true, then this same Jesus is guilty of genocide, including the murder of infants, and will be again when the Apocalypse happens.

  • I acknowledge Godwin's Law, but the analogy is appropriate here: If Hitler somehow escaped and were alive today, and he approached you with peace-&-love platitudes, would you excuse his war crimes? No! You'd turn him in so he could be tried and convicted. So it is with Jesus. He can talk all he wants about "Do unto others," but if he were here, we shouldn't let such a murderer go free just because he's going through a hippie phase, only so he can go all Charlie Manson again in the final act.

  • The Bible is only impressive when you recognize that it is a book of evolving myths, written by men. As the word of an allegedly "perfect" God, it is disappointing and morally inferior. We have come a long way since the New Testament injunctions against women speaking in church, slaves disobeying their Christian masters, or putting family before creed.

  • The movie sort of glossed over the reality that religion's claim on charity is dubious, like bragging about giving someone a band-aid after you chopped off their arm. Instead of giving money to Rick Warren's ministry so he can prop up gay-executing Ugandan pastors, why not bypass the churches and donate directly to a secular charity like Red Cross or Doctors Without Borders?

  • Haha, seeing all these different opinions is exactly like what they discuss in the film. I hope you guys have all seen it, even if you don't agree with all of it--it's really interesting and informative for believers and non-believers alike.

...You guys DID watch the movie before debating for or against it, right?

  • Jesus said you'd know em by their fruits. What fruits? The fruits of righteousness: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness & self control. So just b/c someone says "I'm a Christian" doesn't make it so. There needs to be more shutting up and just living what you believe!

  • @ RJHarris91

Hey brother. I think that the bible preaches others and certainly God first, more so than "self-improvement". Dunno if you're keen, but if you find it, read "no compromise" by melody green, a story of her late husband. She was heaps into chanting and eastern religions, even being flown to Japan by her church in America. Hers may not be the same story as yours, but make sure God is rad with you chanting- that in all you do, God is first. -Peace

  • Over the years we have all been lied to by many false Religous Leaders and so called prophets. Many things we have been taught are not even in Scripture and millions have swallowed so many lies by these false leaders. If you are a truth seeker please visit the web site which is displayed in our user name and take the time to read some of the articles... You will be very shocked.

There is a great audio there for you to listen to. You will come away asking many questions.

    Blessings

    Thanks Ben

  • Fuck You cock sucker! Don't yell!

Bullshit is bullshit regardless how loud you screem it!

  • @KEMICKAL If God does not want humans to question truth, then why do humans have the ability to question truth?

  • @CoastakaMichael He gives the choice to choose life over death. You make you're own path even if it's the wrong one. You make decisions every day, is it out of selfishness or greed, hate or love, wisdom or foolishness, etc. Whatever you choose, Jesus has paved the way to heaven for you. Freedom to choose life over death. He gave us free will because he didn't want to enslave us, but to choose him because of his love. He'd like us to openly submit to him. When you submit to God, you are safe.

  • @mayoju Rubbish and mumbo jumbo. Anyone who is greedy for an afterlife is already in the hands of a death cult. This life is all there is. Get used to it and stop deluding yourself and swallowing all the garbage that goes with it. There is no evidence for a God so basically God is whatever you want Him to be and no-one knows any more than anyone else. That's why the whole thing is a scam; people claim expertise they do not have, they are experts about 'nothing' let's face it.

  • I love that part where Stewie speaks- "A plague here and a pestulence there." I myself am a Liberal Christian who totally agrees with Al Franken's comment. A lot of Christian media leaders are really making a mountain out of a mole hole. Here is one rule of thumbs that I aspire to hold to in the coming years- "Not everything that happens in this world is about religion." Some things are and some things are not.

  • Matthew 10:34

"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword."

  • The whole purpose of the proclamation of Jesus is for men and women to see their need for salvation. I pray that men and women do not stumble over Christ because of our contemporary haggling over the role of religion in the public square. According to the gospel writers, Jesus came to save (Matthew 1:18-25; Mark 10:45; Luke 19:10; John 3:16,17) and that men and women respond to the truth of the gospel by faith.

  • Take a baseball bat and hit yourself in the head a few times. It might jar you into reality.

Why do you believe that gospel shit? - Mental conditioning. Thats all. There is absulutly no proof of the existance of your imaginary best friend.

  • i agree with you partially, i am sure many of the people that call themselves Christians are only Christians because of tradition and the place there where born. but there is also a great number of people that discovered and gave their lives to God because of a rational conclusion that he really does exist. if you want to know more about it i recommend you read "mere Christianity" and "evidence that demands a verdict" both written by former atheists that hated the idea of a god.

  • Even if there is no God, what is wrong in following the teachings of a man who said to love one another? I fail to see the harm in that.

  • Yes I agree, we should all follow the teachings of his Holiness the Dalai Lama.

  • Dalai Lama? That come from Buddhism, does it not? I've chanted once or tWice - I'm still a Christian though. Good stuff, Buddhism. Still, I don't kno WHY people make out Christianity to be so "evil." In my VERY LITTLE time of chanting, I've found that the philosophy behind Buddhism, and What I found is Written in the Bible, are very similar. Both preach self-improvement, you kno?

  • Well that depends on the other things ppl claim that man taught beyond that not so special teaching.

I wonder why ppl feel the need to follow a MAN at all...especially when his teachings were nothing special but he is surrounded by a story w/ little evidence of being beyond fiction.

  • thats why its called faith..

  • Hey AuShawster, please do look up Gary Habermas and William Lane Craig. Believe me, it's not just blind faith. I all but dropped my faith at one point when I wasn't sure if there was any evidence for it, but decided to keep going with it after careful investigation.

  • Look up Chris Hitchens or Richard Dawkins LOL

  • He said in this video "why is the gospe of Love dviding america?" Because Jesus it would for one/ Light from darkness. Matthew 10:34-42.

  • Biblical Love EXPOSES Evil

    and Evil HATES Exposure

  • Crossstar44 Please share that with Sarah Palin fans. I would not have a problem with religion if religious people wouldn't try to impose their beliefs on me. (or why I hate the republican base)

  • i'm excited

  • gawd man y isnt john clease president, with the other pythons as the cabinet. make john stewart the writer for televangelists. Bono can be the ambasador to the world, including god. whos with me??

  • I will kiss your dog.

  • Interesting teaser. I can't honestly say, as a "devout" atheist, that this will be offensive to me. I hope they'll be less biased than Expelled, though that's not saying much.

  • well, if anything, christians would be offended. it talks about how christians in america are perceieved by those that are not christian. i saw this at my church last night. it shows that we christians aren't being loving like we should. it doesn't bash anybody. it just reveals an unfortunate truth. it really opened my eyes... but that's just me

  • Just remember Jesus said He came o bring a sword that divides. Matthew 10:34-42. So they will hate us and even want to kill us as they did too Him. But remember don't be afraid, He has overcome the world.

  • The guy who did "Expelled" is of Jewish faith, not Christian. He was advocating for ALL religion, mainly the ones that are not politically correct including Judism and Christianity. Christianity wasn't even the main topic of conversation, it was that ideas were not being allowed to be discussed & exposing exactly opposite of what the USA stands for - freedom OF religion (not freedom from religion). Didn't you see the movie?

  • FUN...and food for thought. As a NON-believer in the majority faith, refreshing.

    Jerry Long

  • "Millions of people praying for Bill Maher" There is the ultimate proof of the power of prayer. 'gawd' must really want Bill Maher to continue to be an atheist.
