  • Lol, I feel sorry for people that pay to learn from him, poor pivot, no turning of the hips, the upper body is straight up and stationary just asking to be hit in the face. Man where did you learn to fight? Sad, sad times when he gets paid to teach people.

  • never back down sucked ass

  • if u watch his gard on his 2nd kick he brings it down when he kicks if he tried it to me id move my leg and catch him with a punch or another kick because he lets his gard down just a tip:)

  • i tried this on my brother he couldnt get up

  • @XxBoogasnotxX1 XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • Wow...completely wrong information on so many levels. This is not a Muay Thai kick. Very bad technique. The worst part of information though is about the striking area. Especially on a low kick you don't want to strike with your foot or instep area. That is the weakest part of your foot. Not to mention if the opponent blocks the kick, you will break your foot. If you teach this technique, please explain it as what it is....what it is not is Muay Thai...this is a karate kick...

  • not to disrespect americans but overall there kick/thaiboxing sucks... they rock at wrestling for sure but there thai boxing sux, come to holland and learn how to give some real leg kicks...

  • @basser1995 your probably right id love to go to holland to learn some thai boxing but thats a far trip

  • @basser1995 Yeah, because this retard doesn't know how to throw a leg kick means all Americans don't.

  • OMFG i did better mawashi in my first day at training what afucking noob

  • Moo thai......what an idiot

  • @bearsfan213 try to fight him

  • so whats better to kick then the thigh or the back of the knee?

  • @behemoth969 Depends, back of the knee can sweep them alot better but probably wont cause much lasting damage like a kick to the thigh. that shit lasts the whole fight.

  • i have wathced alot of his other stuff and its all brutal too.

  • this guy is fucking brutal, his technique is terrible.

  • this guy watched one muay thai instructional video and after that, proclaimed himself a teacher.

  • "This part of your body"...... response: "Oh you mean the shin?"

  • i remember watching a scene in the movie never back down when Ryan does that Leg Kick on Jake.

  • @qnskeila OMG he did 3 kicks n jake whupped him in the final fight :) at the beat down

  • @qnskeila Good remembered!!

  • this video does suck balls hard!!

  • The hardest part of the shin bone is the inside of the upper part of the shin bone. And it is the old way to throw thai round kick using that part of the bone. It's very effective. Once I stopped a Wing chun guy's advancing step by a very simple lead leg round kick giving him a direct hit to his thigh. He went down. If you know a bit of Wing Chun, you know what that means.

  • "I'm not a high believer of high kicks"

    like w/e man

  • As of today- 7/5/10 at 3:00am, this video has 64,248 hits. It clearly says one thing, YOU are wrong in your negative opinion. Form an opinion after I've kicked your leg just one time... OUCH! will be the first word out of your mouth. I GUARANTEE IT!!!

  • its nice to see this stuff done atleast once, skills of the teacher aside. I have been doing mma for a while now and have never attended any sort of martial arts class. Truth be told I am proud of it becuase all my experience from start to finish has been through direct application. Nothing teaches you better than getting your ass kicked and coming back and learning. I discovered this stuff here and i watch it and take note to try it while sparring.

  • just by the way he through a punch I can tell his boxing sucks bigtime!

  • He is explaining, teaching, and performing the technique all at once. Seems good to me. How many "how to" videos do you have? Exactly!

  • His technique is completely off, his hands dont belong there while he kicks. No wonder why most MMA students have very weak to barely basic stand up, specially when it comes to Muay Thai.

  • @miamitrigueno these guys are not MMA guys at all; just another McDojo trying to cash in on the popularity of MMA.

  • How hard does he want to kick his training partner's knee?! If he kicked the back of my leg like that in a demo I'd chin him.

  • i train mma and this guy is right this is exactly how ur supposed to kick especially if your a beginner have someone kick u like that and see if it doesnt hurt like hell

  • @LILYAYO911 I don't think so. This guys technique blows. He looked off balance when it landed aswel.

  • lol This guy probably learned all he knows from expert village too.

  • i can learn more from my mom

  • thanks i just beat up this annoying douchebag who wanted to beat me up

  • You are not beliver of high kick bcz you can't kick at all , i'm sorry, and your leg kick is wrong to. I just don't understand why is everybody wnt to teach mma, you are wrestler, not a stryker, so teach your martial art, do not mix your art with this bullshido.

  • Omg...this is such a bullshit...this guy sucks...

  • @Telemorphics18 lol he sucks? i wonder if u and him went one on one, then who would suck XD

  • Yeah, it's true that's not a real MT lowkick, but in mma they use the lower shin for kicks.

  • @rufius89

More likely they just don't know better.

  • The smallest bones on your body:

    1) Behind the hand

2)The instep (the top of your foot). If your bones are not conditioned and throw this technique full out a couple of things can happen.

    1) If your oponenet checks the kick & ur instep hits the knee, serious brusing, swelling, possible break.

2-) If you dont step off line &use the instep your kick is more of a rd house. If your opponents knee is bent kicks tend to slide up the thigh into the hip easily countered with a catch.

  • He's not a high believer in leg kicks. Well, the power of those is in the repetition of them. You don't TKO someone with a lowkick, but after ten or so good ones, your opponent is going to be at least less mobile.

Kind of fiendish is to throw front kicks, and if you see your opponent will be in time to catch them, just lower the aim and plant your heel into his front leg, in the centre, halfway the thigh. The muscles there aren't as thick as on the side, so it starts to hurt faster.

  • you must not have seen bas rutten fights. many TKOs from low - mid kicks.

  • I doubt there ever was one from a single lowkick. It's always several being piled up during a fight.

    Midkicks are a different story.

  • Actually, he said he's not a high believer in high kicks, and his particular kicks are to the torso and legs. So, i'm sure he agrees with you, as do i.

  • you need to retract your kick, or you'll get countered!

  • No disrespect but you might want to train with real Muy Thai Coaches. Teach your students to step off the center line. If you kick with right you need to whip your right hand down. Keep the left arm hand glued to your face.

  • Well, there's something to be said for this guy's style too. My coach teaches that too. Why? Stepping off the center line with a different step, gives the opponent more time to see it and reacht. Just pivoting on your heel, replacing your toes is stable and fast.

Done with the front leg it's even faster. Not powerful, but powerfull doesn't score extra points.

Depending on how well your opponent reads you, I'd said you may alternate between the two techniques as both have their pros and cons.

  • The number 1 counter for the Leg Kick is a straight right. If you dont step off the line you re stepping right into it. The other thing is this kick Has 3 attack areas. u Taught 1. First: is about 2 inches above the knee where your 3 sections of the quad muscles meet. Second: is about halfway down the side of the leg. Its where your hamstring meets the outside of your quad. Focus on using the shin and NOT the instep.

  • I don't think you got it right there. Stepping off the line with left, kicking with right, means you're moving towards the left. Stepping off the line would mean stepping closer to an opponents counter right, because that would be coming in over your left side.

  • There is no such thing as works every time in Martial Arts. Techniqus have to be applicable & so things change according to the fight/ gameplan

One huge lesson in Thai Boxing is for max power, you step through the target also have your body behind the kick. So if your kick is going high you want your body high. If you are kicking low through your body should go low and through.

  • True, but since it's adapting, we have to consider: the guy making this video is teaching MMA. In kickboxing it's not bad to go down from an unbalance or something. Ref steps in, get up, carry one.

In MMA it means you'll be in the groundfight, probably in a bad position.

That may explain his choice of the faster and less powerfull technique. He wants to avoid any imbalance as to be able to perform a takedown defense if need be.

  • totally get it what your saying. My gripe is further explanation. If i was a onlooker this video would hurt my training as oppoesed to help. I would suggest the following

3 options for throwing a LIGHT leg kick.

1- Getting opponent to check thus settup a head kick.

2- Baiting my opponent to throw a straight right to my head. This opens up the option for a shot ( double takedown ).

3- Last option is a fast low kick would be used to set up my own angle change and combo

  • obbma i agree with you :)) eeryone says im very strong n hard for my age lol but im not brave enough to fight :S

  • @kharazislay lol im the exact opposite im just bout average but i learned how to fight and ive been fighting for ever haha plus my best friend is jacked of if my mma cant beat someone hes strength and boxing can

  • i agree with gussk8e. i was muay thai sparring and recieved a kick just above the knee and it hurts like fuck. the other option is to check it lol but..... u win some u lose some :-)

  • mma is as real as it gets dude

  • Well, almost. It's probably the sport that gets closest to the "real" thing, if by "real" you mean an actual unarmed fight for survival. But there's still some rules to in it to protect the fighters.

  • I LOVED never back down, seen several times and i never get bored of it. Very inspiring!

  • @ 1FuckedUpIndividual: thats not true mma is real wrestling is fake

  • i think the movie is bad because it's too cliche about things like really thiers a click of rich kids that like rule thier school? And then they fight about girls and stupid shit. It's just my opinion though i just don't like all the dialogue and fight lingo.

  • to get a harder kick one should point the foot which wont be kicking toward your kicking foot point it inward and you get more power should really knock the guy down

  • never back down didnt suck... but it is kinda stupid when people start trying to learn mma after watching it, i started trying to learn a couple years ago but never really succeded

  • It really did suck.

  • explain to me why you think it sucked.

  • i watched it again...and got interested on mma again..lol..and i think its normal..haha..oh and fuck yeah its a cool movie....

  • haha, I'm good...

  • never back down is a amazing movie! Holy shit. i just watched it. hahahah

  • it was a pretty good movie actually

  • @McGradybestfan1 ur a fag that movie sucks its for wanna be mma fighters which u prob are

  • @FedorCroCop44 your a fuckin dyke i don't fight i just like the movie there's nothing wrong with that.

  • @McGradybestfan1 SAME!

  • is it bad if your shin come down from teh inside of our leg not the middle cause both of mine do

  • No, That's normal.

One side is shin, the other is mostly muscle.

  • you have to be closer if you want to hit with the shin but if you want to hit with the foot then you can be a step back.

  • I disagree, as long as you step and turn your hip all the way then there is no need to use your foot for a lengthy shot. This kick tutorial sucks btw...

  • in tai they hit with there shin so much that the there shins dont become a bone anymore it feels like a bludgen hitting u so i wouldnt say the shin is the hardest if u dont practice with it

  • wow

  • the shin is harder than the foot. if you hit with the shin, it doesnt matter, where you hit his leg. But with the foot you have to be extremetly precise.

  • totally agree

  • yea but kinda find it abit harder to kick with the shin

  • this is the same kick from never back down

  • thanks

  • That is one hairy foot!

  • haha mate they were alright

but if you wanna see thigh kicks

    BAS RUTTEN

    best kicks ever

  • wat r u tlking about its called a thigh kick he performed it perfectly look at the rising fighthers such as forest griffin and look how he kicks it looks exactly they same...and he doesnt step with it

  • this guy does suck, maybe better grappler, but leave the striking to others... those kicks were horrible...

  • yea this guy sucks at kicking. you can tell straight off that he's more of a grapppler. but he knows his shit

  • your are suposed to step to the side with the kick, that was horrible

  • that was the worst leg kick I have ever seen! I agree with you zmabstyle...lol

  • word. they suck don't they

  • those kicks are so fucking extreme!!!!! >:D

  • your kicks are torso and leg kicks because you're not flexible. YOUR VIDEOS ARE SHIT

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH :P

  • what do you know?

  • i know enough to see that these guys are pretending to be martial artists. the key term is artists, which clearly they are not. thats what i know.

  • its pronounced My thai, this guy just can't pronounce it.

  • err no its not. its pronounced moo-ay thai. like moo eye real fast

  • its MUAY THAI....its an aggressive martial artfrom thailand. look it up on wikipedia

  • god.. he knows wat it is, hes making fun of how the guys are saying it...

  • Muah Thai is a Martial Art its basicly to hurt ppl ;)

    Awesome <3

  • and its muay thai

  • OMG this is a Low kick and now Leg kick or what u mean with this OMG what is a Leg kick its dont give it by kick and thai boxing this -.-'

  • Wow.... The silent dude is not in a good fighting stance. Not protecting his chin, not protecting his ribs. What the hell is this?

  • First its just a Example

And if your such a pro Why are you watching videos on how to do a simple leg kicks?

  • yess i agree

  • why r u watching if it's just a simple leg kick video

  • y r u watchin it? lol

  • Can someone tell me why the fuck these guys are teaching martial arts?????????? seems like they just watched other instructional videos and immitated them to make their own.

  • suppose to kick with your chin..not between your feet and chin..GAHHH..master at shit for nothing

  • some people dont have the shin dexterity of trained fighters to kick with the shin

  • yea i understand what your saying but from experience u should kick with the shin from causing any injuries with your foot..but then again we rub smooth pieces of wood to kill the nerves in our shins..no disrespect but im just saying it would be better to learn to kick with your shin

  • thats a thai kick dummmmmm ass

  • I like it when he explains why he does things, or dont do em. great teacher ;)

  • High kicks work if you're good at it, but you're "Moo Thai" is tthe best!

  • it's spelled Muay Thai

  • Have you ever heard of "sarcasm?" Obviously not genius.

  • HAHAHA.owned.

  • dip shit the guys says moo thai that's why there's so many comments that say that. but thanks for being spell check

  • He's obviously not kicking with full force. After all, he doesn't want to hurt the guy.

  • why won't this guy lower his nose, i can see his brain

  • hahahah! i was thinking of the same thing. I can see his brain and there's nothing about martial arts there. hhaha.

  • moo tai lmao?

  • it's spelled Muay Thai lmao

  • If you dont belive in high kicks, then they arnt real :D Thats what my grandma told me about communists... If someone kicks you in the face with a "MOOThai" kick your probly gonna stop playing MMA and become a flower girl...

  • This is NOT Muay Thai - and it is the shittiest looking leg kick I have ever seen. And what the hell is MOO Thai?

  • Ditto. He kicks like one of my beginner students. Too stiff, no technique.

  • NICE!!!

i will try this on a friend at school tomorrow

  • im with you on that
