  • It feels like the German pilots waitingshot down by the Americans

  • Belau Wood is where US Marines were named "Devil Dogs" by the German forces fighting against them. Later it was adopted by the Marines themselves.

  • yes, its an american show about american victories. in any other country it would be the same thing with their shows. They give the german, korean, or whatever enemy pilots credit where credit is due, stop fucking complaining about it. if you dont like the show, dont watch it. This show is mostly meant to show how skillful all fighter pilots are, and let people appreciate the tactics and guts that go into dogfighting.

  • 1:00

"It's time to kick ass and chew bubble gum...and I'm all out of gum."

    -Duke Nukem

  • this usa show is mostly bullshit they always talk about their supossed victories but never tell about their defeats they supossedly shot dowm 23 germans ,well news for you a single pilot ace heinz bar wasted 10 p 51s crapstangs and 11 p 47 thurdershits plus 3 p 38 hahahahaha ,yanks never make shows about their defeats

  • @pudransemarikas neither does anyone else......because no one will buy it, duh. Actually, there was a movie made in the U.S. a long time ago "A Bridge Too Far." It's about the failed airborne operation Market Garden in WWII. Surprisingly enough, people did see that one. Must have been due to the fact that it was no where near to realistic.

  • @azazel221 i know the movie and in fact it was a very realistic movie pal, and one of the most history accurate ones compared to many others ,, like saving private shit, and band of bastards,,

  • The historical inaccuracies of B.O.B. are for the purposes of editing and combined story telling. Read the book. It's all there. There's even stuff in B.O.B. that isn't in the B.O.B. book but is in the books written by the soldiers themselves. Saving Private Ryan is fiction, so I don't even know why it's even being brought up. To top it all off, the fact that you think A Bridge to Far is excellent contradicts your first comment.

  • @azazel221 i didnt say ut was excellent i said it was more accurate than many other war movies like b o b and saving pvt ryan, that one is fiction but shows various real battlefields like omaha, and what do you mean no one will buy it?? maybe you yanks wont but any other country would like a really historically accurate documentary not the shit usa propaganda trhey show in this crap dogfights,

  • @pudransemarikas Jealous with your bad teeth and lost empire?

  • @zeroplague no im not , and you jealous with your fat flob wifes and fat butts? poor usa faggy is gonna get asfucked by china by 2020 sob sob hahahhaaa ,, litle usa faggy is loosing its power bujuuu bujuu hahahaha

  • @pudransemarikas If you think America is through, you have another thing coming. Just remember, we still have a country. You're living in the United Arabic Kingdom. I'm sure you know "There's no England anymore."

  • @zeroplague Great Britains white population is 92.2% Americas 72.4% ,Also why would anybody be jelous of America. In WW1 You commited troops in 1918 by then the war was already won so how did you save us ?

  • @TheLloydA1 Already won in 1918 not hardly, the counterattack which responded to the Micheal offensives did not win the war it just pushed the Germans out of some of their more recent gains. Belau wood still offered a path to Paris for whenever the next German offensive hit

  • @suspicious35 The German offensive in ww1 was like the German offensive in ww2 (Battle of the Bulge),Pulling all of there troops, armour and resources. In both cases they did not have the numbers, armour or supplies to Suceed in there ultimate goal and in both cases there supplie lines were to stretched. And in ww1 the closest they got to paris in the offensive was 75 miles,The war was won in 1917 The Offensives proved they still had some fight in them but both could not of succeeded.

  • @TheLloydA1 That analogue is stretched because Germany was fighting (for once) a western only war. The Battle of the Bulge left Germany naked against the Soviet Drive to Berlin. However, with the Micheal offensive the Germans were undefeated until several million fresh troops showed up and settled their hash.

  • @suspicious35 'left Germany naked against the Soviet Drive to Berlin' That is wrong because Germany could not stop Russias advance towards Berlin anyway,Even with all of there avalible Troops, armour e.t.c they would still not be able to stop Russias advance.Yes and the German Offensive in ww2 was undefeated untill Allied troops regrouped and counterattacked like in ww1. Both Offensives were not going to work and ww1 was won before America had any worthy presence in Europe.

  • @TheLloydA1 I didn't say the Germans would have been able to hold the Russians back even without the Ardennes Offensive. But they had almost nothing after the Battle of the Bulge. Also, there were more than 2 million Americans involved Meuse offensive which won the war. (WWI) Furthermore, since Germany threw in the sponge before being actually invaded, the millions more soldiers that America didn't commit still helped win the war because their mere existance helped make clear-

  • @suspicious35

    Meuse-Argonne Offensive

    French Fourth Army

    French Fifth Army

    American Expeditionary Force

    550,000 personnel (estimated)

    2 million i don't think so.

  • @TheLloydA1 "The United States was never formally a member of the Allies but became a self-styled "Associated Power". The United States had a small army, but, after the passage of the Selective Service Act, it drafted 2.8 million men[104] and by summer 1918 was sending 10,000 fresh soldiers to France every day. In 1917, the U.S. Congress gave U.S. citizenship to Puerto Ricans when they were drafted to participate in World War I, as part of the Jones Act." -Wikipedia the discrepancy is-

  • @TheLloydA1 -from soldiers holding the line elsewhere and from military personnel in non combat and support roles, such as supply, artillery, naval, mechanical assistance and repair, engineers, etc etc...

  • @TheLloydA1 continued- that the German Empire couldn't hope the match man Power with Entente Remnants as well as the USA.

  • @TheLloydA1 Germany only gave up after USA got involved. WWI was at a stalemate. Learn your history. There's no England now.

  • @zeroplague Germany gave up because they lost the Offensive in 1918 and the Allies had a counter offensive that pushed the Germans back,Also the Citizens in Germany wanted to Surrender. The vast majority were starving thanks to British port Blockades.Go and read up on the subject before talking about it. Also don't comment on a country you know nothing about,'bought herself a boob job with it' which is illegal to do in this country.Again your talking about a subject you know nothing about.

  • @zeroplague they can't even frly the English flag in prisons anymore because "it's offensive to Muslims."

  • @suspicious35 correction frly to fly fail.

  • @suspicious35 Because there are no men in England. Just drunken lazy people who live off the government. I hope all of you look up the lady who lives on welfare in England and bought herself a boob job with it. You'll understand where the UK is at this point in their dying society.

  • Respond to this video... So anti-American. Typical jealous Brit. No wonder why you needed us to bail you out twice when Germany was smacking you guys around. You're too busy worrying about other things.

  • why is there a brown thunderbolt and a blue-white one?

  • @player3200 because they liked the collors ? who cares :-D maybe diffrent models

  • "Where in the [expletive] did these THUNDERBOLTS come from?!"

    Haha... silly Germans...

  • "But the young fighter pilot has an itchy trigger finger, he fires anyway." Restless Trigger Syndrome is a very dangerous affliction where one simply cannot wait to fire and wastes precious ammunition trying to hit something directly in front of them. Recommened treatment: Repeatedly hitting your head on a tree until you calm down or get a concussion.

  • this show is so awesome could brule jus dive on the german and shoot him down just an idea

  • Get a life.

  • Suck a dick.

  • @fuggsakes

No, I mean GET A LIFE. Instead of going on YouTube and watching a show you think sucks, then ranting on about how much it sucks, why don't you do something productive? For example, jump off a bridge.

  • @2Fast4U0921 Jumping off a bridge wouldn't be productive it would really tie up the emergency services

  • @fuggsakes You fail so hard.

  • @2Fast4U0921 Be a little more suggestive.... such as....CHOP YA BALLS OF AND DIE!

  • @2Fast4U0921 You sir, have just made my day

  • @2Fast4U0921

    or baking a cake.......

  • @fuggsakes yes

  • u know how the British had a few medor fighters operational wat if they had them in this dogfight that would have been badass

  • Seems like having a few Meteors in the fight would have been overkill, considering how the tallies came out in the end! I always wanted to see a Me 262 vs. Meteor dogfight; I wonder who would win that, given equal pilots. I'm guessing the Messerschmitt would beat the Meteor, since it was more developed and probably just better in general. But I'm no WWII jet expert; I dig the prop fighters better. Something just cooler about piston-engine planes....

  • propably the Me262 it was faster more heavily armed and can climb faster but he medor can turn tighter because of its straight wing design and was more heavily armored

  • at that point of the war jet planes werent exactly the best dogfighters, more of fast bomber interceptors. the me-262 could outrun any other plan but could easily be outmanuevred by piston engined fighters at low altitude. meteors wouldnt perform much better either. using the low developed jets in that battle i think wouldve been not effective.

  • @haienbleurgh and the engines were very dangeroius. Any kind of "rough" throttle useage would cause the engines to catch fire and explode very quickly. Plus were very difficult to build and maintain and the germans had a very short fuel supply. Keep in mind there were using mostly slave labor to build these(caputred pows and jews) so the factory workers werent the most skilled

  • Is it me, or does the shot of the P-47 on fire at looks more like it's got 20mm's in it's wings than .50 cals? I'm guessing they needed to "exaggerate" the barrels so they would show up on screen better. I dunno, but if I was in a burning plane at 200ft, I'd try the chute before I was too low to use it at all. A burning plane can only stay aloft so long, you know? Although, if I remember right, many pilots would crash-land the P-47 rather than risk a jump, since the thing was so damn rugged.

  • no they made the 8 .50s longer as it came closer to the inbords

  • Not THAT much longer. That was my whole point...pause it at 4:13, look at his gun barrels...waaay too long. Like I said, I think they wanted them to show up better, so they just "exaggerated" them. They only "stacked" the guns like that so they could lay the ammo belts in side-by-side bays, the strips all parallel to each other. They did the same thing in fighters like the F4F, while in the P-51 and the P-40 the gun muzzles were all level with the leading edge. Eight X .50cal = Badass mutha.

  • I love the animation in these videos. It's not perfect, but they paid attention to how a real video looks, like at 2:11 where the FW190 crashes, the camera keeps moving for a second and doubles back, just like a real person might do with a handheld camera. The again, when the plane is going down in flames, you have to wonder where the flames are coming from. They seem to just appear from the fuselage. In reality, there should be a hole or something, unless fuel somehow spread over the skin.

  • I wonder if the P-47 pilots looked to see where they dropped their bombs! LOL, I hope so. I just thought of something: in a bomber, a guy had to go and manually arm the bombs after takeoff by pulling the pin from the fuse. What about fighters? Did they pull the safeties before takeoff? Or was there a cord that yanked the pin as they dropped? Anyone know about this?

  • Did the P47s ever put in the extra ammo load out? changing the 200 RPG to 425? ive seen that in IL2 and it ups the firepower from like 18seconds to like 28 seconds of ammo, always wondered if that was for real or just in IL2 haha

  • Those were the stats from the whole battle. not this airfield.

  • shame on this shit "HISTORY CHANNEL"

the germans destroyed around 290 planes and damaged 180.

The germans lost from 850 attacking planes 336. and 30-35 of them were shot down by friendly aaa!

thats HISTORY.............the lots of both armies were the same...

this shit german bashing video is just a lie!

  • Yes, but its the same like the tank battle at Kursk. The losses were nearly equal on both sides, but the Germans weren´t able to rebuilt the lost planes, tanks, or whatever...

History Channel is "Winnerpropaganda" not more or less...

  • They're not "German bashing", if anything they are Nazi-bashing. So if you choose to align yourself with the Third Reich, then I have no sympathy for you.

  • Here's "imaginary" for you. Planes locked in aerobatic combat, wrestling gracefully for 10 minutes until finally someone gains the upper hand in a deadly display! he truth is, MANY planes were shot down when flying along in a straight line, not paying attention, and got blasted out of the sky when someone else snuck up and let them have it. Watch gun camera footage elsewhere on YouTube. Do you notice often the plane under fire...often.. does nothing! just flies along in a straight line!

  • That's too true. Most air-to-air victories were simply the result of surprise; the plane was shot up before the pilot noticed he was under attack. Hence the flying in a straight line. Other factors were simple panic of inexpirienced pilots who couldn't figure out where the enemy WAS until it was too late. Sometimes it was just that the pilot was killed by the first shots, particularly with Jap(anese) planes, which had no pilot protection. The trick was to hit them at all... (CONTINUED)

  • (CONTINUED) If you could "sneak up" and hit a Zero, he was in trouble. If he saw it coming, he would evade, and (early) American planes couldn't match it's manuverabilty. These big "furball" dogfights were really from WWI; by WWII it was about absolute performance, a "climb and dive" fight. It was rare to have a real "dogfight" with one guy dueling an opponent. It was more like keep your "speed up, shoot if anyone gets in your sights, and watch your ass". 90% of losses never saw it coming.

  • @rg500delta that and the planes and pilots couldnt take the g's that they do today. hence why you dont see alot of crazy manuvers. The g training and equiptment wasnt really developed yet(no g suits at all). Also aircraft couldnt take g loads like modern airplanes. Just wasnt completly understood as it is today. But u are right the best way to kill was to sneak under and behind the target. Then u get very close and can kill with out being seen and with as little ammo as possibe

  • @rg500delta I know that. So does anyone with much knowledge of WWII air combat. But those stories don't make for an exciting tv show. haha

  • @rg500delta Were you applying this to the Germans or Americans / Allies?

If you meant towards the Allies, you must understand that they don't want to show Americans and such how their own planes got shot down.

  • @Lowskeer I apply this to any aircraft. Any student of history knows a vast number of aircraft were shot down on all sides. Only someone who has learned about war by watching hollywood movies would imagine that the other side was full of cowardice and only their own pilots flew and fought will skill and courage. Or to put it another way, entertainment TV and movies rarely go out of their way to be extremely accurate. They are selling a product to a specific market.

  • @rg500delta I know, just saying that they aren't going to show Americans get their asses kicked or anything, I mean it's not like the narrorator is gonna be like 'And our faithful Americans got shot down and died in a blazing fireball'

    Just saying

  • @rg500delta You want that Check out the first part of the Supersonic episode where a Mosquito shot down two usespecting Nazi aircraft: a trainer and a Ju-88. Also the Japenese pilots were subject to that in the pacific.

  • hahahahaha so true man "they where petrified by seing american plane" LOL!! I kno, they make it seem like a child book.

  • my grandad flew a B-25 Mitchell in the RAF. He flew alot of Winter OPS. but the camo on his place was AWFUL. He had the kind of Camo they put on Mitchell's serving in the Pacific

  • Yeah, I always wondered why the US didn't use winter camo over there. Oh well :)

    I salute your grandfather. *Salute*

  • haha...'it scared me...woooh!'

  • tnx for posting.......

  • this a new one? thought they stoped the show never seen this one before.

  • yes they stopped it... and this one is one of the season 2... u havent seen the rest of season 2 yet though

  • they closeed the show?

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

    how am i gona live?

    what will i do?

oh well my tv littererly broke dows so....i dont realy acare

  • SonarWavePulse I know what you can do. You can buy IL-2 Sturmovik game and literally "re-live the dogfights" :D

  • I have the game, thanks anyway.

  • Which one of them? I have Pacific Fighters (which sucks.) I would so want Forgotten Battles but It's old and impossible to find from here where i live. I was lucky when i found Pacific fighters. (My parents are against buying stuff from internet so that's not an option.)

  • I have the IL-2 Pacific Fighters merged pack.

  • great vid!!!

  • Most Excellent!
