Im a total DOA fan, but I also have VF5. I like 'em both. The only thing I dont like as much with VF has to do with the music, because DOA music is better, and i dont like the way VF characters fall on the ground, and you can keep juggling them... i dont like the over the top juggles in DOA either...
Stalfoe you HAVE my respect for VF for the telling the REAL facts about overrated fighters. These noob can touch your wisdom of VF if they had a life play flashy tekken or SC and DOA. LOL!!! VF IS THE BEST FIGHTER EVER MADE!!!
Neither you nor stalfoe, who I formally commented to, gave me a solid reply to my comment. I didn't critcise the game to warrent being called a fanboy at all. Since you both couldn't give reason as to why my comments were wrong it shows that you lack knowledge of the DOA games. Jut like stalfoe's comment saying that the game is shallow. Also noting that he probably doesn't know that all the DOA games are balanced, just like Virtua Fighter.
Anyway. I'll comment on the video real quick! Hope they release VF5R to the states. I love its new interface. We could definitly use some new outfits. Least they could have done was a color changer in VF5O. Also liking the background music alot too. Hope they have some great tunes in this one, just like the original VF5.
I agree with you all the way Purified, VF5O was super awesome but the customization got kinda dry after a while....I can't wait for VF5R i f it ever comes....but I guess I am a fanboy because I love me some Dead or Alive.....
Well said. I enjoy fighting games and general and play any (even if they suck, I'll play for fun). But VF is balanced as hell compared to MOST other 3D fighters. DOA's counter system is broken as hell and overpowered, Tekken's juggle system goes on forever, and now even Soul Calibur 4 with it's sheer unbalance with characters and stun combos (Mitsurugi, Sophitia and Amy are stupid good). These games are still fun to play nonetheless, but when it comes to depth VF has them all beat.
So everyone has their preferences, and I admit to VF not being easy to pick up, but it's very rewarding and I actually learned to get good at fighting games in general from playing the VF series competitively. It was the first fighting game to teach me to duck throws :) So, to sum it up...the other fighting games don't suck (except DOA, I hate it with a passion unless it's DOA 1), it's just that hands down VF really does have more depth. They all take skill to be good at though.
@Taki4life I kinda have to disagree, I think Tekken when it comes down to it is better. I'm not trying to be one of those guys who come on here just to start a argument, I'm just stating my opinion. Virtua Fighter needs to get with the times, I mean it still has the Joystick in the screen after being stunned. It also has that stupid airplane sound when you do a stun move. I still play Virtua Fighter but not competitively like I do with Tekken. Dom't get me wrong, Virtua Fighters a fun game.
Whoa buddy it is obvious that you take thesee fighting games a little TOO serious all the garbage about system this 2D that is pointless because when it boils down to it Tekken Soul Calibur and DOA are far better games think different owell thats YOUR OPINION THIS IS MINE Dont like too bad go play you Virtual Fighter and cry
Maybe just maybe when DOA discontinues and there's nothing left to play heck I might throw in VF and think of you
Until then take your VF and shove it because I dont care
See what you said about VF storyline thats exactly what makes the game in general bad dont get me wrong VF does have excellent game-play but most people would like for there to be a reason why even though it is fictional if VF had a great story-line like most US popular games Im sure it would be more populare than MK and DOA even though im more of a DOA fan tekken will always remain the most poular because it was the first But I do agree with the SC thing except of course I choose DOA than VF
I want to learn how to play VF5 but from what I can tell, Westerners don't actually play this game (even though they call it the best 3D fighting game ever; Western players generally play Tekken, it seems).
well I'm from Austria and I think VF5 is much better, I've played Tekken 3, 4 and 5
you are right, I don't understand why they don't like VF5, ok it doesn't has a story like Tekken, but you have soooo many ways to fight with every fighter, it's much harder to learn than tekken
Between other 3D fighters or including 2D and 3D? I can understand being at the top of the other 3D fighters but to also challenge 2D fighters would be a mighty mountain to climb (IMO, no 3D fighting game yet has been able to surpass the best 2D fighting games).
Thats because unfortunately most americans want to mash buttons and expect flashy cool shit to come out . And in VF you cant do that and expect to win. Thats why Tekken and Soul Calibur are so popular. VF is miles beyond both of them. There are some of us americans that are willing to put forth the effort for VF because we know its the best and worth it.
Excuse me but most of us [americans] dont like VF because of its lack of fluency it very chopping. But as for Tekken and SC there popular because of the story line I personall only play tekken for Nina who is equavilent to Sarah Im not a big fan of Soul Cal. But i think the best game is DOA i know i going to hear alot of BS about "you only like because of the overly sexual females" But that not the case the story line is amazing and the fighting is unmatched and to be blunt i think VR is garbage
I'm just gonna throw my 2 cents in and say this: Most USA players dislike VF because they are either just casual fighting gamers that don't want a hard/complex game to learn, want flashy moves with flames and electricity, or a storyline. VF has a storyline, but with no main focus on it. It has complex gameplay that will take a lot of time to learn, people hardly want that. VF is a game that only true fighting game enthusiasts can appreciate. Best 3D fighter in my opinion with SC2 at a close 2nd.
I do. The game requires a lot of focus, and once you know the moves, and play through Quest Mode with a character you like, you'll get the hang of it.
in the 3d 3d domain vf is the best but in 3d 2d street fighter hands down.but damn aoi won again!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I really didn't care about getting a console VF5R now, but really ,I SO WANT IT NOW. VF has the smoothest fighting out there in a game.

DOA isn't shallow. But you obviously don't know that since you sound like a n00b.

I have to say, out of all the fighting games I play... I like VF most. Simply because you have so many different defenses to get out of a situation.
