  • I'd be pretty damn pissed if my meat was green. I pay for fresh meat, not rotten meat.

  • WOW! actually this video is wrong...because ANIMALS are the cause of green house gasses. when cows fart its released into the air, so slaughtering them helps decrease that. just remember, my food shits on your food!

  • @gitarguy222 Supply and demand. If you pay someone for a cow they raised, they're going to raise more to make more money. You aren't helping anyone.

  • Converting the world to vegetarianism is a fruitless goal. As a whole, people will never stop eating meat. I think a better direction would be to reform the ways that the animals are raised and processed. You can't improve on Man's taste buds, but you can improve the technology that puts the food there.

  • @cathasmykeyboard Actually, only the west has had a real craving for meat. I personally like salads over steaks, and so do much of the eastern world. Taste buds are irrelevant. Meat isn't a delicacy in many nations.

  • It's because meat is usually red.

  • Everyone here does realize that eating wild caught animals is "greener" than agriculture, right?

Going out and catching a fish or killing a deer for food is far more environmentally friendly and then any form of agriculture.

Would anyone think its wrong for me to eat wild game when it is obviously a "greener" form of food?

  • @Gryndurr this isnt about hunting. it's about factory farming. 99 percent of all consumed meat is from factory farms. stick to the issue.

  • Meat is also the reason for the 9-11 terrorist attacks and racism, right PETA?

  • meat isnt green, unless you leave it out too long. congrats you're not colourblind.

  • We pointed to the glaring ERRORS in a 2006 United Nations report that claimed 18 percent of global greenhouse gases are related to animal agriculture. In 2008, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency calculated that the entire agriculture sector accounted for only 6 percent of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, while sources directly related to livestock production represented barely 2.5 percent of the total.

  • If you do not care about the environment look up what a factory farm is and read about it. 90 percent of allEggs

dairy and meat in the grocry store and nearly all meat

eggs and dairy in fast food restaurants come from factory farms.

  • Even if you do not believe in global warming consider the abuse in factory farms. Look it up the animals are confined to the point where they cannot move and other horrible things.

  • Meats NOT green?

Someone should have told the lunch ladies at my junior high that when I was little.........

  • I disagree with the argument made in this video. It is not the production of the meat that's causing global warming, it is the EXCESSIVE production, driven by EXCESSIVE CONSUMPTION, of meat that is causing global warming. We need to cut down on consumption, not become vegetarians altogether. Humans have been eating meat for centuries, it's only in the past few decades that widespread animal husbandry has led to global warming.

  • this is quite amusing, it hasn't encouraged me to become vegetarian at all. in fact it has had the opposite effect. It just shows that we need to farm livestock in a greener more environmentally friendly way. maybe eat less meat?

  • meat is not the number one cause of global warming.

  • Duh...its the color pink.

  • i hate wen people ask me"why the hell r u vegetarian?!"its like y do u effin think?!cuz u know its wrong!iv showed a lot of my friends meet ur meat and chew on this, and guess whos a vegetarian now?iv gotten quite a few students to consider it.or they dont cuz "its too hard!i love meat sooo much!"its like suck it up! if i can do it, so can u! just think of meet ur meat every time sumone puts a cheeseburger in ur face

  • Here's a little secret...humans aren't green...

  • I made the choice yesterday. I will never eat an animal again. Thank you, PETA.

  • thats a good reason to stop eating dead cow babies.

whell, im a vegetarian for 4months and is hard just because mu mum mads on me for that. She said that im wrong, silly and very lamb.

i think she is wrong and Im about to change her attitude too. :DDD

  • fail. who cares if meat is green? what point is this stupid video trying to make global warming is a lie properganda face palm

  • Ok I have a quetion, how does eating meat affecting global warming? Are cheetah's hunting in the wild causing Co2 going into the atmosphere? Nah. btw if meat was green nobody would eat it because it was rotten or moldy lol.

  • did you even watch the video? in the process of making factory made meats (which is different from a cheetah hunting on the African plain) they contaminate the water and the factories create the greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and it takes a lot more water to feed and keep these animals with water. since the cheetah isnt using a factory it is more efficient and they dont mean green in the literal sense, they mean it as in enviromently friendly

  • thank you PETA for coming into this wretched world

  • Go Vegetarian!

  • i <3 peta!

  • Hmm maybe people who consume rotting flesh should watch this.

And when people question "why im vegetarian"

It is because i have a conscience

  • Hey guys, those that are a little upset about this- don't worry. It's not like they are pushing it on you, it's just a suggestion. I have been a veghead for two years, and I LOVE the taste of meat. So I go for boca and morningstar whenver I get a meat craving, and it tastes REAL too. I often have to look at the box a few time to make sure I didn't pickup something wrong by mistake. And if you are looking to make your life healthier, this is the way. I lost 20lbs in the first 3 weeks! NO JOKE!

  • True, if you have ever seen the video of Ingrid Newkirk Speaking Up For Animals(i'll post the link below) She says that they serve veggie dogs at ballparks every summer. There is always that one person that comes and says, "Ew what's in those things?" She says,"well vegetables, soy..." after that she said, "I wonder how they would react if I were to tell them that theese were the meat hot dogs with rectum, nose, ect."

  • Shit yes, vegitarian 4 years last feb (H)

got 2 of my other friends to veggout too :)

i guess my other ones just like having raped dead baby cow in their mouth...

..and speaking of animals...i forgot my dog outside =s

  • You do know PETA is against pets of any kind right?

  • @TLcavvy so? I dont agree with them on everything but they have a point on most things, like how factory farms treat animals and the impacts on our health and environment. I financially support and volunteer for veganoutreach though

  • GOOO PETAAAAA =D

  • WOW. this really opens up my eyes. i am NEVER NEVER eating meat again. thank you for telling me!

  • I just totally have to point out, you used double negatives, and therefore said you were going to eat meat XD

  • man im so hungry now...

  • Hear is a good point that all the VEGAN and environmentalists have missed.

All free range farms which is the majority of all farms Absorb more CO2 in their grass and trees on their farm than the produce from their live stock. Because the Farmer owns the grass and trees just like he owns the cattle.

SO solution Pay all livestock farms $100 thousand dollars a year to have no live stock at all. I am sure plenty will be happy to give up their cattle

But are you prepared to pay!!!!!!

  • duh meats not green!! do you want it to be?

because i dont wanna get food poisoning!!! duh ! gosh

  • Lol, even if people stopped eating meat, there would still be animals, and the animals would reproduce, and then they'd keep creating carbon dioxide and the world would die.

Besides, its not 'global warming' anymore; its CLIMATE CHANGE

  • perhaps we can save the earth by reducing pollution from other sectors, WE DO have the technology.

But changing our NATURAL eating habits is not the way to do it.

  • Sorry hun, but humans are naturally herbivores. Hence small canine teeth and manysets of molars. We come from the primate branches of the animals kindom, and do you see and primates hunting?

  • Opes eats meat - becouse we ate meat we had enough proteins to have big brains. SOME meat is good - but not every day or so.. I eat meat once a week or less and I think it should be enough. Can everyone say the same?

  • even though i'm vegan, i think that's pretty cool of you.

  • Watch the video, I think it would make everything more clearer for you...

  • why cant we all just get along and stop fighting? if we like meat, we can eat it. if we dont, just dont. we dont need horrible name calling. stop acting like children

  • Okay, so were all going to eat vegetables, then the cute fluffy animals starve and suffer a slow painful death. No God put these creatures on earth to be eaten. Yet you all think its perfectly normal to abort a living child but we hunters cant harvestgame because they have more rights than humans!

  • i should show my friend this, she is like in denal. when i told her she's like bull. lmfao, finally i have proof. qo peettaa <3

  • i rly wanna know why this was thumbs down? seriously

  • I agree. I think humans have evolved enough to know that every time we sink our teeth into a Big Mac, we're encouraging the destruction of rainforests and incidentally destroying the only home we have. Meat is not a necessity in our lives, and we should learn to get smart and start saving the earth.

  • The earth only has to make it a few more decades and then it's someone else's problem.

  • sooo true. I could never eat meat!

  • WOO GO VEGETARIANS!

  • I'm going to be honest with you, I don't like PeTA that much.. But this is a better way to stop animal cruelty and make a green world than "Cooking Mama Hates Animals" or the rip off of The New Super Mario bros. where you have to save Pamela Anderson...

  • i love animals and would never eat or harm a cat or dog but eating animals that were raised on a farm and could never survive in the wiled is fine.

  • If we stopped raising animals, the economy would be evem worse off. What so many people don't under stand is 1)if a species that is domesticated is released into the wild it will DIE. 2)There are so many buissinesses that depend on the raising of animals that if we just shut them all down, billions if not more people would be out of a job and it would cause utter chaos on the market. also mankind evolved meant to eat meat. PETA needs to stop pulling their so called "research" out of their asses.

  • 1) Don't all this animals die anyway...and suffer all their life. I don't see slaughterhouse as a place for saving animals. If they are in the wild, they will be in a quantity that depends from nature, and so will be natural

    2) People will produce instead of pork steak veg steak, and grow grains instead of beef. It will save more resources of our Earth, the life of animals and will give enough to people's need.

  • People said the same thing about slavery and child labor. People actually argued that if human slavery was abolished our economic system would collapse. People argued that too much wealth is dependent on it. Did that mean human slavery was morally sound? No

"also mankind evolved meant to eat meat."

Charles Darwin, the very man who came up with evolution, was a vegan. Man is the only primate that is a omnivore. It is unnatural. Look at the studies. Human vegans live longer and healthier.

  • becoming vegan makes you feel so much better!

all vegans subscribe to me please!

  • i am a vegitarian and i am proud of it! it's really not hard at all and personally, i think it's better for you. I agree with this video and i am huge on going green. but no matter what, there are still other causes for global warming and the enviroment not being good. Even if all the people in the world were vegitarian, there would still be so many other things that humans do that would cause global warming.but i still think this is a nice video though (:

  • ok, but then we have all thees cows and crap that cant live on there own, so you can get rid of my meat but you have to kill every animal that would have been made in to meat, cuz just leting them go would me "mean"

  • i totally agree with you.....NOT!!!!! XP i love not jokes! :)

  • We have canines ( the 4 sharp teeth) we were built to eat meat , and i cant live with out meat and if i was cut off for the rest of my life i would prob die

  • how can a lion that really was designed to eat meat not get heart disease and how is heart disease the leading cause of death in america if we were actually designed to consume meat?

think about that. and millions of people are veg. how are we alive if we were designed to eat meat?

  • uhh no we weren't ment to eat meat, read the bible, and im living without meat and im not dead.

  • I promise you that a vegan diet won't kill you. I'm 3-trimester (pregnant), and a workout freak, I've never been healthier, I'm not lacking any protien here !

  • I don't think so....

Humans were created as omnivores. You don't need meat to survive.

  • you prob die if u continue to eat meat!!

    tumor,stroke,arteriosclerosis...

we are buildt to eat vegetables.cats and lions

have canines you use fork and knife.

    sorry for my english

  • how anyone can eat meat I honestly can't understand. Perhaps if all livestock was treated humanely, but I still cant see how they could put dead animal flesh into their mouths and not feel guilt about the taking of a life.

  • you wouldn't die :) don't eggxagerate.

  • Now I'll have to disagree on that Title... Meat can be green if it's left out too long!

    Sorry, just a joke. =)

  • damn! some1 beat me 2 it! lol

  • Did it ever come across one's mind that the planet was doomed to die from global warming the minute humans were created and that planets have a life expectancy like every other organism has?

  • lol.

well u obviously dont enjoy the life given to you. we can try to slow down the iminent death and enjoy it while it lasts.

  • I vegetarian! It's easier and HEALTHIER for you(:

  • no its not u cant just live on plans u do need protein and other nutrients that only meat has and if u don't eat things that are alive then why do u eat plants cause they are livng creatures as well

  • oh really? we are born with canine teeth e were made to eat meat! we were also made to eat plants but to only eat plants means that your not getting any protein from the red meats so actually being vegetarian is worse for your health

  • I hear you!

So, all of you carnivores out there,

since it has been proven that the vegetarian diet is much more healthy than the average random diet that you probably all eat, so why not become a vegetarian.

Save the Earth and be a better person.

  • HELLOW where omivores not caravores or herbavores BUT OMIVORES annyway do you have anny proof???

  • Because meat is sooooooooo good. That being said, it's an excellent argument, but unfortunately one that me and my stomache and taste buds will be ignoring. Ignorance is bliss and so is a 16oz. medium rare steak.

  • no human in this world is a carnivore. only herbivore(i dont know why) and omnivores. i like eating both veggies/fruit and meat. its just my way of life. not everyone elses.

  • finally, ive been looking for a video like this!!! its not hard being vegetarian!!! its fun. and gives you bragging rights.

  • yeah i was looking for a video like this too!!!!! im so happy :)

well for me it was hard but its getting easier for me cuz im getting used to it.. it helps when you know that you're being friendly to animals, your body (health), and even the environment. There is nothing bad about being vegetarian.. NOTHING!

  • well we cant help that meat is red :P

  • It doesn't make sense that the world gives up the Amazon, the most bountiful producer of earth's oxygen supply for meat production. Meat is supporting our lives, but oxygen is a far larger necessity. You can live without meat, not air. Why we're prioritizing harmful, torturous killing of animals over air is completley beyond my comprehension.

  • Simple Fact: Vegetarians and vegans rock!! :)

    Love my fellow vegheads!

  • Actually, the overpopulation of humans is what causes global warming. If there weren't so many humans, we would still get our meat from small family farms, and there wouldn't be as much animals to even need to be raised for food. So really, it's all you crazies who have 3 or more children who are ruining the earth. *nodnod*

  • and the mass production of animals. they are forced to breed. they have lives yet we make them suffer through child birth year after year and cause more pollution along with cruelty.

  • Hmm...so what this is saying is that animals cause global warming. Following that train of logic we should kill every single cow, pig, chicken, sheep, goat, and livestock animal. I don't believe this for one second, I don't even think PETA believes this they just want some limelight.

  • I think you wrote this before you had your coffee....Watch the video again. The point is that the tremendous numbers of animals which must be bred to support our "meat habit", cause global warming. PETA2 is not saying kill all of these animals (they will be killed anyway, won't they??? for the meateaters????) What they are saying is stop eating meat and there won't be a need for using so much of our land for grazing, improving the environment.

  • "There's more to it than meets the eye" as they say.

  • what this is saying is that we shouldnt eat meat and farming animals causes uber harm to the environment.

  • No, peoples' overuse and way of producing meat is contributing significantly to global warming. There are more animals on earth at a time in factory farms than there ever would be in the wild.

  • No they should just be allowed to die off naturally, not bred for human use.

  • didnt peta also say that meat and dairy products cause acne heart attacks and strokes?

since that is clearly b.s how do we know this isnt?

  • YOU CAN HELP!!!

  • YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

  • Meat isn't green? It is if you dip it into paint, food coloring and etc..

But to be honest, some veggies aren't even green!

  • wow ur rly dumb....

  • even the smartest ppl in the world like albert einstein said that:"Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances of survival for life on earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet." now go and do some research next time instead of just opening ur mouth and blessing ppl with ur uneducated ideas :)

  • @shiiiva

You have the grammar skills of a five year old.

  • Meat causes more greenhouse gas emissions than all of the cars and trucks in the world. That's direct from the UN. Veg/Veganism is green!

  • MEAT'S NOT GREEN!!

    GO VEG!!

  • a kid in my class came up to me and is like veg-heads are the reason for global warming because we are eating all of the the plants and things....and i am like your stupid you dont even care about animals or anything meat is the reason for global warming...haha and then he walked away and called me stupid..but he is the one who isnt a veg-hed!!!!

  • Go Veg!

  • WOOT! yay vegs =]

  • meat is totally the number one cause!!

  • It's hard to tell somebody to go vegan when that person might be poor...I wish i could go vegan. I was watching "Simply Raw Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days" because my mother and brother are diabetics but we're just too poor for the diet. So we simply go on a "survior" diet and eat fast food places to save money. So what's your answer for the poor...?

  • A Veg*itari*an driving a Hummer has a smaller carbon footprint than a meat eater driving a Prius.

  • Oh ya cause people who aren't vegan only eat meat

  • Even though I am not a PETA fan, this video speaks the truth! GO VEG!!

  • yay :)

  • I am using this in my Environmental Science Class

  • Meat is down right disgusting!!

  • i totaly agree on this vidio i have ben a vegetarian for only a year tho

  • I support you, PETA!!! You're right

  • Wow, thats so sad!! Im trying to go veg!

  • Makes me think of Green Eggs and Ham. I suppose Dr. Suess was even more 'not all there' then we would've thought originally. :P

  • WHOOHOOO GO VEGANS!!!! WE RULEEE

  • ^-^ i just added another reason to my list of why im a vege person!

  • Wow I didn't know that. Damn.
