  • Old men.

    Warning.

    Warning.

  • 1:59 Is that a fully-grown JC Denton gestating in the clone tank? If so, doesn't that mean that his childhood and memories were all fabricated (sort of like Jack in BioShock), and that he's really only a few months old?

  • @SPRLDR That is Alex Denton, the protagonist of Deus Ex: Invisible War.

JC Denton has actually lived every year he's supposed to have; I believe he was even born inside of a human woman according to the Deus Ex bible.

  • Long live deus ex

  • Why contain it?

    's cool

  • gooooosebumps, ffs!

  • Been checking out games with the best user scores from metacritic, because that's a much better gauge for how meaningful games are, you can bribe a critic but not the users. Such great games I didn't play because I was so young. Kinda getting nostalgic in these past years that games have been lousy

Better engines better graphics but FFS, the graphics are fine that's not what to improve. Intellectual storylines which always don't need to show US as the shining light of the world, old and untrue.

  • Just found out something.

FEMA's organization is divided into certain regions. One of these regions is called "Region VI" which includes Texas and parts of Lousiana, New Mexico and Arkansas. Ion Storm's office (the developers of the game) was in Texas, in Austin.

Now back to FEMA. Guess where the HQ of Region VI was:

    Denton, Texas.

  • 1:32 gives me goose bumps. Every. Time.

  • Every god damn time i watch this intro, EVERY damn time i get the chills!

  • @Philmarken1 Oh yes, most certainly

  • Duex Ex 1 seems like reality today.

Most countries are turned into police states, economic collapse, humank killing flu, protesters are called terrorists etc...

  • Reinstall.

  • Your appointment to FEMA shall be finalized within the week- when Katrina hits, we'll do nothing---

    Muwahahahahaha- ahahahahah

  • I never really liked the intro. It's nice, but it spoils far too much.

As for people saying that something like Deus Ex: Invisible War ever existed, they are clearly delusional. I don't know why the second game in the series was Deus Ex 3. Must be some fad with only odd numbering or something.

  • @ferrousscale Most Deus Ex fans hated Invisible War for a few reasons. The game is pretty good on it's own but it's worse than it's sequel.

  • Love this game. So sad it depicts the reality with man-made diseases and leaders deliberately holding people down. They know we are dangerous if we were to wake up as a whole. They also know we will...

  • Did you hear the sound at 1:20?

  • @HunterGrob That was a greasel.

  • Man... theirs nothing like the original Dues ex game. Big up to the revolution its good 2...

  • every day my rationale for choosing bio-engineering for my major sounds more and more like this

  • this came off as boring pretentious nonsense when I first watched it.. but.. after being maybe 85 percent through the game.. I can really start to appreciate it.

  • This intro is incredibly intense. I love it and I haven't even played the game!

  • GREAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT

  • 0:32 why is it zooming into his eyebrow?

  • @ShupaNaraic

Tom Hall said needed a close up shot so much they were desperate...

  • 0:32 why is it zooming into his eyebrow?

  • best game ever!

  • What was Bob Page's end-game anyway? He would merge with Helios and Simmons would... what?

  • "Why contain it? ... It's cool."

    "Old men are the future."

  • Or better then kings...

    gods!

    GODS!!!!

    MOTHERFUCKING GODS!!!!

    DID I MENTION GODS!

    GODS!

    AUGMENTED GODS!

    A NEW AGE...of GODS!

    I asked for this GODS!!

  • lol sometimes i put the audio in 16-bit or 8-bit to make the game sound robotic or techno-like

  • Also, if you want more information about Deus Ex, information, solution, and talk with real fan of the Deus Ex universe and the series, the "Deus Ex Wiki" is for you ;), with also many help about the new Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Just search "Deus Ex Wiki" on any search engines.

  • what a shame

  • There is no Invisible War. :|

  • can some one explain why every one thinks invisible war is a shit game

  • The whole Deus Ex franchise is amazing. Even Invisible War was good to a point if only to relay a theme or a message. Cyberpunk rulez.

  • There are some graphics improvement mods out for this game, just icing on the 50 or so hour, tremendously epic cake.

  • @Max0lnq ...What?...

    ._.

  • We have other problems.

    UNATCO?

    Savage.

  • @Horusksa Paul Denton

  • @lockeslylcrit ah yeah right, thanks

  • @lockeslylcrit wasn't he speaking about daedalus and icarus?

  • @lockeslylcrit doest he mean icarus?

  • @Horusksa: Paul Denton.

  • @Horusksa This game came out 10 years before Adam Jensen was invented, use your head.

  • @DeadEndScreamer it would've been cool though if the entire story was thought off ahead, adding hidden lines on future material, they already did that at the end of area 51 stage when you see the Invisible War's main character in a capsule.

  • @Horusksa Well this isn't Legacy of Kain for the stories to be so connected. I don't remember seeing Alex in Area 51, think you can remind me where it was, all I remember are aliens in the test tubes.

  • @DeadEndScreamer no not the aliens, It was in a clone development tank in area 51 under Alex Denton (Alex D), since I cant post links here, you can always read about it at wikipedia under "Deus Ex: Invisible War characters"... True nothing is like LoK or Metal Gear when it comes to story connectivity, but the franchise was suppose to be way bigger than it is now but due to the failure of Invisible wars, they scrapped 2 sequels (one was called clan wars I believe)

  • @Horusksa

Human Revolution takes place before Deus Ex. Adam Jensen is the origin of all of the Denton brothers through DNA.

  • @peniosasdasd that's why he said: ' I WAS (past-tense) disappointed of the performance of the primary unit (as you said "the origin of all of the Denton brothers" '

Another theory was of the mentioned by @lucaboris and @insight1337 was that they were talking about daedalus and icarus, would've been valid if Walton did specifically say: "my people will continue to report on HIS progress"

  • @Horusksa

Ah I suppose you're right. I always just thought that they were talking about Paul, JC being the 'better' version.

  • @Horusksa

No it's clear he is talking about Paul Denton as the primary unit.

With the whole "augmentation project" before mention primary unit.

  • @Horusksa

    DIE IN A FIRE.

  • I never asked for OLD MEN.

  • smell like john chacon voice?

  • Why contain it?

  • @kamilfreeman is cool!!

  • How could anyone prefer the edited PS2 intro to this?

  • @JohnMooreification

Because the PS2 intro didn't spoil as much as this does. This is a good intro, but it reveals a lot of what's going on before you even know what happens...and it's a bit hard to follow if you watch it just once.

  • Deus Ex 1 was the best game ever in my opinion. Will it be worth playing DX2 too? I only see bad reviews about it.

  • @Revange50 There is no Deus Ex 2. At least, not until Human Revolution comes out. "Invisible War" is just a figment of your imagination. Repeat after me: "There is no Invisible War. There is no Invisible War. There is no Invisible War."

  • @lockeslylcrit There is no Invisible War! So.. is it worth it to imagine there is an Invisible War?

  • @Revange50 I'll leave that up for you to decide. Don't blame me if you are committed to an insane asylum afterwards.

  • @lockeslylcrit INVISIBLE WAR WAS NOT THAT BAD.

ok, it was bad, but it didn't deserve the level of shit it got. Most of the problems were because of trying to put it on home consoles as well. It's a decent game that tries it's best, and some joy can be gotten from it.

Until you realize how the ammo system works. >_>

  • @lockeslylcrit *lol* That's hilarious... *hypnozied gaze* There is.. no .. Deus Ex 2... *zombie moan*

  • @lockeslylcrit Deus Ex 2: Invisible Game.

  • @Revange50: I haven't played it, but from what I hear it's a "dissapointment". Not horrible by usual standards, but not up to scratch if you wanted a second DX.

  • @Eagle0600 wrong, the new game is spectacular. play it, if you are a fan of this one, you should like the new one.

  • @nmcvicker03: I was talking about DX2, not DX3. I have played DX3, and it's damn good (if extremely buggy).

  • @Eagle0600 yeah i realized that after i posted lol sorry about that.

  • @Revange50

Invisible War might not be as great as the first Deus Ex, but its nevertheless a pretty good game, don't listen to those fanboys who wish that Invisible War had never been created.

  • @Lenariet

Agree, all Deus Ex features are in DX:IW - complex history, phylosophical debate, nice game engine, many characters of the first etc. well, real Deus Ex fan like DX:IW, the other are just fan of the first game or like only gameplay and doesn't take into consideration the philosophy behind each game. Deus Ex is not only one game with a perfect gameplay, Deus Ex is a series of 3 nice games , 1 book and 1 comics, with a powerful cyberpunk ambiance, choices and story, it's that Deus Ex.

  • @Revange50 Invisible War was (despite what most people will tell you) actually not a bad game, it's just different in a lot of ways.

  • @nategraves I never finished it, but a problem I see with it is that it is rather a stand-alone game that just has the "Deus Ex" title slapped on, despite having very little to do with its predecessor. I assume that upset some people as they were hoping for the "feel" of the first game.

  • @Revange50 ignore the idiots. DX2 is a solid game, sure its not as deep as DX1... but its certainly not the mindless thrown together crap which passes for games these days ie COD.

  • @gringolazlo

Call of Duty was another early 2000's game in its youth, the series was excellent, right up untill Call of Duty 4 started winning alot of awards and the series' developers got lazy after number 4 and started consolifying their games to the point where modding and even dedicated servers or even a developer console was completely denied from PC gamers.

Numbers 1,2 and 4 were all made with PC completely in mind and they are known as the best in the series, that says something.

  • @Revange50

It's not that bad a game, just doesn't live up to the original in the slightest. But still a game worth playing if you enjoy the storyline, and want to see how the world continued after the events of Deus Ex 1.

  • No words

  • It makes me moan this

  • Why are people comparing halo and deus ex? Both are timeless, well made games that have not only survived, but thrived over the past ten years. I love both games and I love all of you 8)

let's not argue in the presence of such a great intro lol

  • BOOBAHBO-Your appointment to FEMA should be finalized within a week.

  • Sorry, but this is a stupid parody of the true Deus Ex into.

  • @Max0Inq: Uh..no, this is what's in the game. Machinima did a hilarious parody of it, though.

  • @Max0Inq

    lololololololololololololol

  • "There's not enough deus ex to go around and the underclasses are starting to get desparate"

  • Best game ever? Oh yes, most certainly.

  • Best game ever? Probably.

  • One of my top three games of all time.

This, along with Baldur's Gate II and DOOM.

Don't have high hopes for the new one coming out. Won't hold my breath.

  • @kmvoss ha, hopefully if you keep your expectations low you'll be pleasantly surprised. Human Revolution looks pretty good, but if nothing else hopefully it will take the Deus Ex franchise main stream. Most people have no idea what the original did for gaming.

  • I'm not too familiar with this game, could someone tell me the name of the character in the white suit at the start of this clip? The voice actor sounds a lot like Kevin Spacey

  • @boilersrock1 Bob Page, voiced by Cliff Stephens.

  • The underclasses are starting to get DESPERATE...your turn...

    DESPERATE

    DESPERATE

    DESPERATE.....

    DESPERATE!

  • PRETENTIOUS OLD MEN RATTLING THEIR CAGES

  • "I take it he was agreeable"

  • @Kriskazam ''Oh, yes.''

  • @sloggie20 "Most certainlywhenImentioned" Lmao I love the lack of a break in between the sentences

  • @Kriskazam 's Cool.

  • @sloggie20 Lol thanks? :P

  • Love the music in this intro better than the cinematic version.

  • @doomsterdevil whats the song?

  • I don't care about graphics this is the best game ever made.

  • @conkerfan2550 The graphics are actually good, not too blocky compared to Final Fantasy 7 or MGS ( Not saying they are bad games, they're awesome)

  • Epic game is epic...It's all about graphics nowadays. They forget the atmosphere and the storyline completely.

  • @NOLFGirl nah it's all about marketing

  • @themasteriswatching yeah obviously. What I meant was that games today are made beautiful outside but remain empty inside. So many people believe that if game has a great graphics it's worth buying....it's sometimes the other way around. I've learned that the old games are often better than the new ones.

  • @NOLFGirl The new deus ex is going to have the atmosphere, the graphics, and the storyline =) inb4 fanboys

  • Why contain it? ...'s Cool

  • This game is legit

  • UNATCO?

    Savage.

    UNATCO?

    Savage.

    UN-UNATCO?

    No, savage.

    UNATCO?

    Quit screwing around.

  • the 90's videogame era was shaped by kings....no, better than kings....DEVS (that cared more about gameplay quality than money....GASP!)

  • This game is culturally relevant. In a little over two minutes, the intro shows what our world is all about. Nevermind that it's set in 2052. That's pretty much the world we live in now. When the time comes, I hope JC doesn't send us to the dark ages, though. I'll still want my Internet in the future.

  • I miss this game

  • Oh yessssss.. It's their teeth, highly over done.

  • love the voices

  • SAvage?

  • OLD MEN

  • I bet this is starting to happen somewhere in the world right now.

  • @jcdenton100 it pretty much has been since forever

  • Deus ex is all about shooting Manderley with a GEP gun while talking to Paul trying to escape from womans bathroom while throwing gas granades at Maggie Chow yelling i spillin my drink at Bob Page.

  • @Thechos3n666 its waaaay better then halo.

  • Deus Ex is all about NWO

  • @kirisgamer Halo is so much better. What a ripoff...

  • @spiderpig85

...how is it a ripoff, the pc release predated the original halo

  • @Sirolos thats not true

  • @spiderpig85

Deus Ex was released on PC on June 26, 2000

Halo Combat Evolved was released on November 15, 2001

  • @Sirolos No it wasnt.

  • @spiderpig85 Halo: Combat Evolved release date: November 15, 2001

Deus Ex release date: June 26, 2000

So there, shove it up your ass and go play stupid halo that ripped of deus ex.

  • Plot in this game is so close to the reality that it scares me.

  • thumbs up if you feel like playing this game again, its just too adictive, ive finished this twice now, and it still feels like theres more to it, best game ever

  • @abbas7944 - Ah, man, know what you mean. I bought this game when it first came out in 2000. I think I played the demo 4 or 5 times through, then the full game at least 10 times. I alway find something new on the next play through.

  • @abbas7944 hello rookie.. I played it 12 time through I know all the endings by heart :D

  • @Ignuus66 i remember the endings the first time i played it wen i waz about 12 or 13 years of age

  • Then bum from the lab below comes with crowbar and pwns everybody.

    The end of game X)

  • Who thinks Deus ex 3 is just a fucking gimmick.

Good to see a prequel so shitty writers don't have to evolve the storyline :D

  • or better than kings...OLD MEN!

  • @Chayraz2 Ha, ha, ha! Oh Jesus, thanks for the laugh, that's made my day a bit better.

  • What FEMA stands for?

  • @Glucharina Federal Emergency Management Agency

  • @Glucharina

    this one?

    Federal Emergency Management Agency

    ???

  • THIS IS THE FUTURE WE ARE ALL FUCKED!!!!

  • @ricosuavable Yeah, we'll all be poorly engineered computerized polygons o.O

  • @jtizzle22796 LOL no but where fucked in the next 50 to 60 years.

  • Good game.

  • What a Shame

  • @DanielL553 Bullshit, if anything Deus Ex rips off the fantastic cyberpunk novels written suh as Neuromancer and in some ways Blade Runner.

  • @XKS99 The problem is if it was remade the original team wouldn't have anything to dp with it and hence a remake would most certainly mess up what their creative vision of the game was.

  • lol this is the only game my pc can run without crashing :)

  • @SlipknotFanize your PC has good taste in games

  • @googleTHT yeah heh :D

  • this was or is propably the best ego shooter that has been ever developed! nothing comes close to this great role playing element in the game.

  • JC DENTON IN DA FRWESH

  • @spiderpig What would you know?!

    Halo was released in 2001.

Deus Ex was released in 2000.

The Matrix was released in 1998. I mention this because, if anything, Deus Ex rips off The Matrix.

Next time, research your argument about one of the greatest games ever made before you begin to say anything.

  • old men are the future

  • "I'm more concerned about Savage."

    "UNATCO?"

    "Savage."

    "UNATCO?"

    "No. Savage."

    "U..Unatco-"

    "Savage."

  • This game is not just a game, this is the game of the real life and everybody plays in this game every day.

    Wake up.

  • @Khild565 0/10

  • @Khild565 Troll says what?

  • @Khild565 The game both predates Halo and is nothing like it. It isn't even really a FPS.

  • @Khild565 Haha wow.

  • @Khild565 i was going to reply in english, but you wouldnt understand, so ill communicate to you in your native language: trololololol trolol trololololololol trololololol troll

english translation: get back under your bridge, troll

  • @Khild565 How is this even remotely CLOSE to Halo? Deus Ex is about government conspiracies and is more of an RPG than anything, whereas Halo is about some voiceless space marine that I really could care less about. Not to mention the aforementioned fact that the release of this game predates the original Halo game.

  • Ah, yes.

  • no UNATCO Just NSF NSF NSF!!
