I want to strat a picsynth project, but I really don't know from where to start... where i can find the keyboard? I only see one picture album in your web and there are two modules... If you can guide me, please... thanks!
@picsynth Do you have pictures of the whole synth with all the modules, like the saw PWM etc. So not the modules like you show them in the video, but the whole thing. Like at start of this video.
Why can we not get epic synths like this these days? I'm keen to build one of these and use this for the melody and use a polyphonic keyboard for the bass.
You'd probably better off in using some rom sampler based instrument for switching between those sounds, if thats not what you already have in mind that is?
Add MIDI in and out, perhaps stack 3 mono (6 oscillators) in unison... would be the coolest affordable synth "shake the house down" bass sound ever. :) Nice work. Love the arpeggiator addition. That's how I came across this work..was searching PIC midi and arpeggiator on Google. That has some really nice low end sounds. Reminds me of my Korg MS-10, with yet more punch (only 1 osc there).
This is amazing, I been on your web page and had a look through the diagrams etc. Its certainly something I'd like to build in the future once I feel more confident with electronics. I've always felt like building my own synth, like the kits they used to have in maplin catalogs. Does the Pic mean that the oscillator is digital whilst the filter is analog like a korg poly 800?
Yes the PIC produces two digital oscillators, analog waveshaper circuits are used to derive pulse and triangle waveforms. The filter and vca is analog.
Just google picsynth and go to the first link for the main picsynth website

@TayouJin I think you mean you circuit bend a cheap keyboard. With those switches etc.

Very impressive and it sounds good when it gous dual oscillator. I'm definately going to have a go at this when i get time.

I think your PIC synth is awesome, its what inspired me for my electronics project: digital/analogue synthesizer, using PICs as a sound source.
