As with many people on here if you know your car facts you will know Nissan recalled all Navaras for a retro upgrade on the air bags to inflate sooner in the event of an RTC. This increased the rating. Also as many people forget most RTC's involve one car vs another vehicle the laws of physics and you can not deny this state that the heaver object will win, unless it's shaped like a bullet!

This car got good in the USA offset test (IIHS)

thay have retested it and it get 3stars which is not great but have look at the rest of the pick ups even the new L200 dosnt get a good score but no one has tested a Landrover Defender thay whould be shit in prang 50year old tect thay dont even have an airbag!

The D40 Navara has recently undergone EuroNCAP crash testing along with the Mitsubishi Triton/L200 and Isuzu D-Max, It received one star with a strikeout, however after retesting with upgraded computer software it went from the lowest in the group to the highest (overall) with 3 stars. Among the problems discovered during the test was delayed airbag deployment and insufficient seatbelt restraint which was resolved with the software upgrade.

You are funny guy whit your Navaras. Why dont you just accept a tested fact ? 4 stars is 4 stars, 3 stars is not "highest overall". It was better only in pedestrian saftey, which doesnt really help those traveling in the car.

Now L200 whit its new 180hp engine, you will like it too, since power waas the thing that you liked. Well I dont care, everyone can do their own choises, both pickups are mainly good.

This Navara, apart from fatally faulty software, will smash your ankles, Femur and hips, as that front tyre drives itself into the cabin by approximately 300mm.

No software can fix that. The car is DANGEROUS - so much so that they re-introduced the old model back into Australia 'cause very few people are buying it.

Buy a Toyota Hilux. Safest ute/pickup you can buy.

"3 Stars. The Nissan Navara scored 6.88 out of 16 in the offset crash test. The integrity of the passenger compartment was compromised. Protection from serious chest and leg injury was weak for the driver."

Read the ANCAP report - Toyota gets 5 stars, the Navara barely gets 3 and will kill you.

The only thing it didnt score well in after the software upgrade was protection against pedestrians....but who cares about that !?

Buy a passenger sedan, ever safer. These pickups are for wankers and are useless for carrying anything really. Who would want to travel in the rear cab in almost upright seats.

That looks exatly lk the Pathfinder and Frontier!! Both recieved a Good Rating with only minimum injuries by the IIHS!!

Maybe cuz its a European car and not made really for the US. Idk..
