  • My Goddess that looks delicious,I'm drooling! :D

  • Please remember that roses from the flower shop are probably not organic and have poisons sprayed on them and cannot be safely ingested. It's best to grow your own in your witchy garden, but perfectly okay to purchase dried from an organic supplier. Mountain Rose herbs is one of my favorite places to order them, but shop around and always check with your local occult supply. The Crystal Fox in Laurel, MD is marvelous and can get special orders on request. Love everybody there! Blessed Be!

  • I can't wait to try this out!!!

  • I didnt know we could drink liquid that has been boiled in roses. Hey, I think Flora is hotter then Beyonce

  • I thought also about getting a bunch of roses from the store and drying them myself... Is that ok to do?

  • This may sound odd, but I would like to make this for Thanksgving... Is that ok to do?

  • do health food stores sell rose petals by chance! I don't have access to any

  • I made this for my mother tonight and it was just amazing! I love this recipe.

  • Is this okay for a young child to try? 3 year old.......

  • @carmegalodon I'm sure it wont hurt a three year old as long as you didnt let him/her drink the whole pot. ;)

  • is it typically served hot or cold?

  • Oh Goddess! I can nearly smell it! :D

  • Can you use dried lavender instead of rose petals?

  • i made this last night for our Mabon Ritual and it smelled and tasted absolutely amazing!!!! Thank You!!

  • Does it matter what kind of rose petals you use? Like red or pink?

  • that looks heavenly!

  • erm im only young so i cnt have apple cider what else can i use???

  • @dizzygemini Dear Dizzy If My Memory Serves Me Right Apple Cider Contain's No Alcohol But i think u can buy some with alcohol Just read The Label's And It Will Tell You If There Is Or If There Isn't ...)o(...

  • I made this lasy samhain, and it was Great =]]. Im actually thinking about making it for Mabon or Samhain.

  • Wahhh~.

    I'm hungry now!

Thanks for making this video! :)

  • I bet that makes the house smell amazing!I just stumbled upon your videos today, you have some amazing food that I have to try to make.

  • Yummy! I'm definily going to add this to my BoS :)

  • I am soooo gonna make that next October!

  • I can't seem to find dried rose petals anywhere, Would it work if i bought roses from my local flower shop and dried them myself?

  • why is it called a witches brew flora??

  • ok, I haven\t been a witch since my early teen years, but I am so interested in how to make this!

  • ....does it smell good ?

  • @webweaver101 : same here. through the whole entire video i was thinking about how she wasnt gonna strain it and i was like is that edible with rose petals? i wonder how they taste and im gonna show this to my grandma for me and her to make

  • Flora, I gotta comment.

I had my doubts. The brew didn't look too appealing .. but I just made it tonight to share with a friend and WOW! I can't believe how delicious it turned out!

I'm looking forward to many Samhain's now and different experiments with this brew.

Thank you for sharing and I hope you and your beautiful family have a Blessed Samhain.

    Warm regards.

  • this may sound stupid but are rose petals edible or do you strain them out?

  • @webweaver101 rose petals are edible

  • @webweaver101 It's 'not' a stupid question and yes roses are edible; you can either strain the ingredients or you can leave 'em in. When I made some, I used a fairly big strainer [like a cullender] so that the apple bits would go through, but the other stuff was winnowed out and it was delicious. Then a couple of weeks later, my sister made some for me because I was sick and she didn't strain it; and it was INCREDIBLE...YUUUUM!!!! Have fun with it and blessed be )O(.

  • how do you get the flower petals?? Do you have any tips on how to make the drink with dry ice?? I've never used dry ice before and this Halloween I'd love to make a spooky drink with dry ice :) All tips and info. is appreciated. Thanks!

  • typical mulling spices .. my recipe is more extensive ... mulled wine people beg for it every holiday

  • typical mulling spices .. my recipe is more extinsive ... mulled wine people beg for it every holiday

  • Wonderful drink! :D

  • do u have to be a witch to make it

  • @tristonanthoneywlker erm no. Do you have to be british to make their traditional dishes? its just a recipe.

  • Why is it that you add the rose petals?

  • I am soooo making this! and that apple bread!

  • a much simpler version i use lots is just apple cider and the cinnamon maybe nutmeg if i have it on hand and let it simmer for about 15 min from about mabon to samhain i drink this instead of tea : )

  • if i dont have fresh ginger can i either use dry powdered ginger or should i just leave it out? and also is there any other liquid you'd recommend if i cant get the apple cider?

  • Are the rose petals necessary my mother is allergic

  • This is kinda a silly question, but for someone like myself who does NOT have a sense of smell (no really, none at all) I was wondering what kind of flavor the rose petals add to the drink? Does it sweeten it? Is it strong or mild? I myself probably won't be able to taste it, but if I were making this for a group I'm curious as to the general appeal of the flavor. Does that make any sense lol?

  • Wow, that looks delicious! I'll have to try that this year. Warmest blessings to you sister!

  • what kind of apples did you use Flora? blessed be

  • hi could i use fresh apples instead i couldn't get a hold of apple cider with out alcohol .x

  • hey i have loads of fresh apples could i use them instead of apple cider i'm from england and i couldn't find any cider without out alcohol in thanks .x

  • Would you say this a good offering to the spirit's ?

I'd really like to make it someday when me and my friends can have celebration.

And I wouldn't want to leave anyone out, if you know what I mean.

    XD

Thank you so much for all you videos, BTW.

I've really come to trust all the advice you've given to me and all others seeking spiritual enlightenment.

  • A warm treat for the cold months!!

  • when is the Sabat Celebration? Would you do the Cakes and Ale for Beltane?

  • can you put it in a jar and store it in the fridge? and if so how long will it last?

  • i really wanna make this! looks amazing. i think i will for Beltane actually. i wanna start my year and a day on Beltane, so i need to make it extra special =]

  • that looks really yummy

  • great video, love spiced cider but gurl that was a LOT of nutmeg

  • OMG I wanna try making that... I wish I knew of where to get Dried Rose Petals... I just moved to Arkansas and am still learning my way around the area... Anyone know of local-like stores I could find them at... or (I wish it wasn't the only way) an online store I could order them from...?

  • Very interesting...i also wonder if i can get apple cider in my country it's not so common here...and i highly recomend you reduce the amount of nutmeg it can get pretty tough lol...and how's digestion after that much ginger??? lol i'm not saaying you're doing it wrong or anything i'm just a little worried on some of the spices like nutmeg and ginger...i know they both taste good but they're both very strong as well so...but i wanna try to make this so i'm just making sure...you rock

  • your awesome!!! ty and blessed be!

  • sounds almost like a type of wassael

    1/2 gal apple juice

    12 whole cloves

    1 cinnamon stick

    1/4 cup of candy redhots

heat it up and stir in the candy redhots

this is really great for yule or any really cold day

it really warms you all the way through

be blessed and happy yule :)

  • is it safe to drink it with the dried rose petals? I've never heard of anything like that so that's why I'm asking. :)

  • Rose petals are able to be eaten.

  • Hey, I'm from England. I'm confused about the 'cider' from reading the comments! is it actually Cider as in the alcohol? or is it none concentrated apple juice without anything alcoholic? and is it possible to use anything other than Apple Cider? Blessings Dione Elffire x

  • Apple Cider here is freshly pressed apple juice. It is non alcholic.

  • I really want to try making this but I have no idea where to buy dried rose petals, can I get them at local supermarkets?

  • Most herbal stores will have them or Mountain Rose Herbs will have them also.

  • If you buy some roses at the flower shop, or get some roses from your garden or from someone you know, bundle them nicely like a bouquet, tie a string [but not too tightly] around the stem about 3 inches from the bottom of the stem, and hang them upside down from a door or a window sill and they will dry out very nicely. I tend to keep them like this in vases throughout my house so I don't have to dry them to use them plus they are beautiful as decor. Brightest Blessings!

  • Oh thanks for the tips. :)

I tried making it but didn't have rosepetals or nutmeg and added sugar in its place.... mine ended up being a bit too sweet. xD Still yummy though. ^^

  • can kids drink some?

  • Yes

  • I was wondering do you need to use the dried rose petals to get the same result??

  • yes

  • What was the last ingredient??

  • Nutmeg

  • Excellent, thank you so much! Have an awesome Samhain. xxx

  • Hey i am from ireland and we dont seem to have Apple Cider, do you know if it goes by another name or if there is an alternative i can use? I really want to make this!!!

    Blessed Be

  • Its fresh apple juice, just pressed. Not from concentrate.

  • Is that mead?

  • No... it's cider

  • looks good

  • ok, so i got all the ingredients but the rose petals. are they necessary? how is the taste effected? could i maybe replace it with a CC's red zinger teabag broke open? i plan on making this soon!

  • red zinger would be great!!! You can change the ingredients to your liking.

  • i might do this. i'm also making the cake from portal. we thought our food should join in with the fancy dress. tee hee

  • I'm making this right now as we speak. We're going to be carving our jack-o-lanterns tonight too and now we have a new tradition! Thanks Flora for sharing your recipe.

  • Oh my gods, what a brilliantly creative idea for using dried rose petals in food--specifically a cider! Where ever did you find this recipe, dear?

  • I added this to a section on my channel called cooking pagan the idea is si out some cooking stuckk like so others can enjoy i will prob tag a lot of you cook a lot :)O(

  • Its so good i just made it omg its good

  • where did you get this recipe? it looks so good

  • I'm so gonna try this! The only witches brew ive used is a potion i use for practically everything!

  • It looks fun and I could make this but no one would drink it. I am the only pagan in my family so there's hardly any point and it would just go to waste. That's the part about being solitary that sucks. I can't see me liking it either. But the idea is cool as clams!

  • hm... that looks good! i may have to do that...

  • How do you come up with these ideas? Lol. The rose petals are unique.

  • I am so making this for our Halloween party!!!!

  • Ok I have to make this for Samhain <3 Thanks!

  • Oh my gosh that looks so harvesty, yum!

  • does anyone know what could be substituted with rose petals.....could it be an ingredient from a grocery store????

  • Mmmm, it looks so good! I want to make it! I probably will this weekend. I'm taking some friends to Apple Hill, Here in California which is about 45 minutes away from where I live and we are going to get pumpkins and pies and take pictures then after we are carving the pumpkins and I'm planning on making the sweet skull bread and this :)

  • Wow that looks amazing! I just love it when you cook stuff!

  • I didn't know rose petals where edible.

  • neither did i=]

  • Hey Flora :)

I was just wondering, is this better served hot or cold? I'm assuming hot but I mean afterwards when there's leftovers, should I heat it or just drink it cold?

  • just make the food and say its for Halloween ;D and that its a cool recipe u found u wanted to try maybe have a Halloween party with all the goodies and usually they do not get suspicious.

  • Hmm.. Good idea! I hope it works, because my parents are very closed minded. We live on the bible belt, and they believe that anything other than baptist is devil worship.

  • Well good luck I guess I was lucky my mother was the openminded one my father is not sadly but I did not get into Wicca till I graduated High school and had a job

  • Haha.. Thank you. I guess for now I will just continue learning as much as I can about what's right for me. They won't understand that one religeon doesn't suit all people. Thank you! I'll wait untill I have my own place untill I come out of the broom closet lol.

  • OMGSH! Sounds divinely yummy!!!!!

  • would do nice in a crock pot I bet!

  • crock pots have to be one of the worlds best inventions! i'm actually simmering a soup in one right now, lol!

  • Thank's Flora!!!

  • Ooooh. I wonder if Pumpkin Pie Spice will work instead of Nutmeg? I'm gonna try both recipes and see which is better. Thanks for the recipe!! You're awesome!

  • Love this. This would be great for someone with a cold.

  • Yummy. :)

  • This sounds so very very GOOD!!

  • do you think i could use rose hips instead of dried rose petals?

  • OOOOo looks so yummy. I have to try this.

  • I will definately make this!!! That looks so very yummy! how do you make dried rose petals and what is the name of roses that you used?

  • This may be a stupid question, but where can you get food grade rose petals? Thanks in advance!!

  • This is really similar to how I make my mulled cider! I usually add a small amount of pomegranate juice to mine as well. I've never used the rose petals before; I might have to try this! I add in lots of fresh orange and apple to my recipe as well!

  • Excellent brew! I'll be making some spicy cider -- as usual -- this Samhaim -- but I'll skip the rose petals -- and include dark rum instead! LOL! Ginger is an excellent new addition for this year!

And a punch bowl full of Bloody Good Martinis (just make Cosmos with lots of cranberry juice! LOL!)

Jan at Rosemary Cottage on Cemetery Hill!

  • Girl, this made my stomach growl...lol I have to try this! Thank you!

  • That looks soooooo good! Think it would still taste good w/o ginger? (My friend's allergic, which also means no gingerbread at yule ::cries:: ) Or maybe a ginger substitute? I'd totally make the orig for my fam though.

Jeez, Flora. You need your own tv show.

  • I love you cooking ;D

  • i would never drink that, no offense. but I'm sure it is yummy.

  • Oh yum! :D I would only be able to make half or a fourth of this recipie though...
