i remember watching this on the news that morning telling us that we were gunna have to go higher with our clay dikes and it was a crusher... thanx to everyones helo who came from all over to help us! we beat the river with your help!
I think Mayor Dennis Walaker says it best a few days befor the crest: "We will not go down with out a fight." THANK YOU for your strong leadership in this trying time.
i say stand and fight its a great community and oits a great i mean why waste alll the time to stop the flood from getting to the houses if in the end you are going to leave then why not leave in the first place instead of tryig to block the flood from getting to the houses
Fargo is great and North Dakota is the best place for community because of each and every one of us who worked to protect the houses of Fargo-Moorhead is why this country is so amazing and special for all of us
Having been through a devastating flood in 1997 in Grand Forks, my heart goes out to the good people of Fargo. This is not just a community united, this is a state united. There are many more people in our good state fighting the good fight. People who have not ever been to this part of the country do not understand the grit and determination of people in this region. Keep the faith.
As one who was raised in the F/M area and endured the flood at UND in 1978, it is encouraging and reassuring to see that the same attitude of perseverance, teamwork and shared struggle hasn't changed over the years. Leave it to the hardy folks of the northern Plains to show the world just who we are and the mettle of which we're made. And no blaming of FEMA, either!
I am begging to God to lord of my Buddha please us from the Nasty water to skip it a way from everyone in Fargo ND or everywhere. I am so proud of Fargo people that they have been working hard on the flood to protect their family and friends. My lord of Buddha and God they tried hard to take away of nasty water too. I would like thanks and grateful to God to Lord of my Buddha and people who worked on this nasty situation, and I prayed everyday for everyone. Stay healthy and warm.
The efforts of ND/MN folks make me even prouder than ever that I'm from ND. You're best out there - and have been in my prayers for days. May God continue to watch over all those in harms way in the coming days. lhogan ny
Very heart warming to see everyone pulling together to help others in need. I am 65 miles from the FM area. Our students along with many other schools sent bus loads of kids up to help sandbag this past week. I pray everyone is safe and will be able to return home soon.
To all those living this flood first hand take care and be careful.
Lee, these videos are AMAZING! after 4 days of sandbagging, they are uplifting and very moving. I love the music you choose and would love to know who sings on your first and third videos. WE WILL WIN!
I agree!! Uplifting and moving...no one could ask for better neighbors than the people of the F-M area, I'm so proud to be a part of this area and the images in these videos are why! Btw, the songs in the first and third are both by Lady Antebellum...the first is called Never Alone(also features Jim Brickman) and the third is called I Was Here.
Paul Laney is on this 1 and he is my uncle
