My gosh, that was so cute. Those animals are happy and sweet because of their owner. Thanks for shooting this and for uploading. I favorited and subscribed : D
Thank you. We lost our Bear in September. He had acromegaly, aka giantism the same disease that Andre The Giant (The wrestler) had, and his mormal sized, full of love, heart couldn't support his huge body, anymore. We had 5 wonderful years with him, though.
People like you who take in the hurt and homeless make my heart proud and happy :).
I have a blind Yorkie, an Ocicat, & a Doberman. My Doberman & Ocicat are the best of friends & both help the blind Yorkie around the house. Dobermans are wonderful & intelligent animals. It is ashame that they are given such a bad reputation.
They are awesome! I also have a blind cat (the one on my profile pic) He gets around great! I think having other cats to show him around has been a huge help.

@kilroywashere123 The interraction between the dog and the cat shows that. I love the way the cat rests his paws on the dog. I have two beagles-one is 18 and deaf. He relies on the younger one to be his ears, looking for signals from him to know when my garage door motor is going up-that I'm home from work. So I can see how your Dobbie is the eyes for your cat. Animals are clever that way.
@Sodnal 18! Isn't that a record? What do you feed him? Please tell me! My great dane is on borrowed time. Kilroy will be 7 in a few weeks. big dogs don't live that long :-(
I feed him anything and everything, he's not particular like most beagles. Just has good genes, I guess. He's a rescue, so I couldn't tell you his background. He outlived two other beagles (both 12) and a rottie (also 12). I'll miss him when he's gone, no question. Not sure what my next dog will be, I'm considering a Dobie or Greyhound. I always own rescue dogs because my ex wife is in a Rescue Group.
@kilroywashere123 Thank you! Bear had surgery again today to remove the third eyelids that had grown back and were again covering his eyes (since his eyes are so small the lids are like "baggy pants") The doctor tested his eyes with a light and he blinked, which shows some sensitivity to light :-) :-) :-)
@kilroywashere123 , lol yes it is hard to believe,,, how does it walk thru a door way,, ,looking right at the water dish,, looking right at the dog...walks between the dog n the walk.. it aint blind
@Earssss Wish you were right. What you don't see here is him walking into objects that have been moved. When a cat loses its sight, its other sense become highly acute. I think he can see light and dark. His left eye is the size of a pea (never developed) and mostly covered by the 3rd lid that grew back after surgery. The right eye is about twice that size, also not developed. Congenitally deformed, according to the specialist. Will take some close-up photos of him and post for you.
@Earssss that cat is blind, every animal can get around, even if they are blind, that cat's been in that house for god knows how long, he's also got a nose i think he can get around.
@LoisRags13 Thanks. Never thought I would have to actually argue with someone to convince them. Wish I didn't have to. You can really tell if I bring him outside. He is totally lost and helpless. Also, he never runs in the house. Every step is careful, with his whiskers out, his nose smelling, his ears remembering where everything is. He sort of stays in the same areas.
They're great! When I call my cat, Isis, she looks at me like "who, me?? Puhlease!!!" Lol, love the way Bear comes when you call him and Kilroy's smile is beautiful! =D
@DannieShaw1990 Yes, I was surprised at how well blind cats do. I think he has a bit of light/dark vision but will find out fir sure at his eye doc appointment next week :-)
Our male Doberman, while mischievous, is certainly affectionate. I suspect the lay public doesn't realize how sweet natured the breed can be-as long as he or she is in a loving home.
@LarryRickenbacker You are so right. They are highly intelligent and not for the average dog owner who doesn't want to put in a little extra training. They are just too darned smart.
@occasionalDrifter No, actually even Styx named that album after the mischievous cartoon charter drawn by America Soldiers all over Europe during WW II. Look up the Legend of Kilroy...it's really pretty cool. Looks like my username picture but instead of a Doberman it's a man.
i have four blind cats! i even have one that lives outside (he's aggressive and wouldnt stay inside) but he knows the yard and stays in it we have 3 inside :D but those three died of kidney failure :'( its hereditary for them :'(
@kilroywashere123 i loved them :D they were the sweetest things the weird thing is about them is that they were all related and from the same litter all the males were blind but the females werent :( i was so confused lol you cat is so pretty though he/she looks like they know there way around the house though the one we have outside fight our neighbors cats and wins we tried to put him inside but he shredded our house and he is literally crazy lol
@sergey98352 The cat is blind...although he gets around very well. The Doberman is very protective of him and when the other cats play too rough he comes running and barks at the others to behave.
@sergey98352 It's OK..I don't think he knows any difference and as you can see, he is quite content. When we found him it was another story. He was almost dead. We think he either got lost from his litter (he was a stray) or his mom rejected him because of his eyes.
@mkershaw5 Clicker training! I captured the behavior. Now when he wants my attention he does it on his own. He will go through a whole repertoire of behaviors as you can see. He will smile, hide his eyes, turn the lights off and on (see my other video), etc., if he thinks I am not paying enough attention to him. :-)
@zcchristyc2t Kilroy was 4 when we brought Bear home as a tiny, very sick little kitten that we were fostering. Kilroy is used to cats as we had them in the home when he came in as a puppy.
@kilroywashere123 I get goos bumps. They look like the black jaguar, but in a small type. I dont even go out to throw the dustbin at night, cos i get spooked when i see ablack cat jumps in front of me. I wont be suprised if that cat scratches ur eyes out one day or bites you with its sharp teeth
@Theshofumiah1 I am sorry you have these phobias. The poor cat can't help the color he is ...just like people can't help being the color that they are.
@Theshofumiah1 but there is no such thing as witches! These poor animals are innocent. Please give yourself more credit as a human being with a brain.
@Theshofumiah1 hey i hate you!! and guess what nobody cares what you have to think!!! do everyone a favor and make a video of you sticking your head in a blender and then maybe ill give it a thumbs up.
p.s. these are the most beautiful animals. they must really have a great owner.
@RincoRncontinentaR Thanks for sticking up for my little Bear. But it's not necessary. Bear has his brother Kilroy to protect him from evil black cat haters. Grrr!
How adorable. I always wondered if I would ever see another dog that had a toothy smile. We had a retriever/border collie mix and when she was really excited, she would get this huge grin on her face and bare her teeth. It looked like a snarl with her lips curled in a smile..lol.
@shivag73 Some dogs (like yours) do it naturally. I had to teach Kilroy. In this video, the first time he does it on his own (finally!) The second time I ask him to do it :-)
@Remmepark Dane of 12 years? WOW. That is a long time for a Dane to live. I am so sorry for your loss. If you look at my other videos ("Why you shouldn't let your dogs watch You Tube Videos") you will see our rescued dane who is 7 .
Awww~ My pitty does the exact same thing to all my animals! :D The ferrets, the guinea pigs, the cats, she just loves to mother them.~
I'm actually getting a Dobie today, I've been waiting for months! Someone said their prone to disliking cats, but I don't believe that for a second. This especially disproves that. c:
@Shithra Owning a pittie I am sure you hear all the untrue crap that people have to say about our dogs. They meet one pittie or Dobe or see something on TV and they think they know the whole breed. All we can do is continue to show the world the true nature of these loving souls. Please post your peaceable kingdom and let me know so I can see them together. Congratulations on your new family member :-)
@kilroywashere123 Yes, I had no clue Dobes also had a bad rap, like Pits, but I guess it does make sense given their purposes in the past. I don't mind one bit, though, I know it's all just a lie, and I plan on taking my new girl and my pitty into CGC and, later, therapy work to try and further disprove the lies stated.
I'd have already posted a video, but turns out the guy I was buying from sold my Dobe for $50 to some guy 'cause one of his dogs --
@Shithra -- had ripped half of one of her ears off. I pleaded with him, to let me have his number so I could buy her off him, but he refused, so I pretty much said screw him and I wanted my money back, found a much nicer lady with one and I can go get her on the 17th. :l
@geblickfickt Thanks. It's even cuter in person. Really puts life in perspective to see these 2 together all the time. My big "mean" Doberman is at the mercy of a blind cat :-)
Cats sense small air currents around the edges of objects, using the whiskers. Its like radar for cats. He probably can see shapes, and uses that in combination with his whiskers.
@david19882008 Lamento que yo no hablo español muy bien. Nada va a pasar con el gato. El doberman es muy amable para con todos los demás animales y los niños humanos. Él es un amable, cariñoso perro.
@david19882008 Thank you! En el doberman de 1970 fueron un tipo diferente de perro. Hoy son criados para ser alerta e inteligente, pero no agresivo. Son tan fáciles de enseñar.
@kilroywashere123 - He doesn't seemed like a "quite" loving dog. In fact, Kilroy seemes like a VERY loving dobbie... I wouldn't mind having 10 Kilroys! *ENVY*
I can't help it :))) when you tell him to smile and he does that face... how did you teach him that? :)) I want to teach that to my Keira :)) she knows "gimme kiss baby" and "love me" but smile is priceless :)))
@JanaKubalova clicker training and "capturing." Is there ever a time where your dog is bored and just shows his teeth out of boredom? Example: I would be reading the newspaper and kilroy would be waiting for me to take him somewhere and I noticed he started making these faces. So I started having treats ready and I "captured" the behavior. Click and treat. Or you can dab a bit of peanut butter on his teeth and when he shows his teeth, click and reward.
@JanaKubalova Some dogs do it spontaneously. When I still lived at home we used to have a Dober that smiled a LOT although we never taught her to do so. (Come to think of it: that dog was quite quirky but so damn funny!) Nothing beats a good-morning-smile from your canine friend!
@MentalRaptors you're right. I think the dogs who do this on their own think they are people! Maybe they learn it by watching our faces? Very funny to see!
@bigairbc I am not sure how he does it. I know he has some sensation of light and dark in his right eye. I think he also knows the house well. But when I feed him he has to "root around" for the food dish, and if I accidentally leave a cabinet door open or move a piece of furniture he smacks right into it :-(
@cpuser37 Yes he is blind...I think he sense some light and dark out of his right eye. His left eye never developed and is about the size of a pea while the right eye is a little bigger but still really small and undeveloped. We had surgery to remove the third eyelids as they were too big for those eyes but it didn't help that much. It amazes me how well he gets around the house, but when I set his food in front of him I remember how blind he is...it is hard for him to find it.
that's so sad :( at about 2:07 in the video I did notice that his eyes looked a bit strange... it's a good thing that he has such a great owner to take care of him :)
@cpuser37 The white that you see is actually what is left of the third eyelid that the vet removed. If too much gets taken off there is danger of damaging the tear ducts, then any little sight he has left would also be gone. We think he sees something, since he is able to make his way around a little, but he bumps into objects such as chairs, open doors, etc) if they are moved at all
I won't be able to sleep tonight after knowing that dog and "The Fifinator" might be on the loose

@Sodnal Thanks. Can you read that, Earssss?(This person is arguing with me about whether or not my cat is actually blind.)
kilroywashere123 2 weeks ago
@kilroywashere123 The interraction between the dog and the cat shows that. I love the way the cat rests his paws on the dog. I have two beagles-one is 18 and deaf. He relies on the younger one to be his ears, looking for signals from him to know when my garage door motor is going up-that I'm home from work. So I can see how your Dobbie is the eyes for your cat. Animals are clever that way.

Theshofumiah1 2 months ago
@Theshofumiah1 I am sorry you have these phobias. The poor cat can't help the color he is ...just like people can't help being the color that they are.
kilroywashere123 2 months ago
@kilroywashere123 LOL. thats why they call the black cat the withches cat
Theshofumiah1 2 months ago
@Theshofumiah1 but there is no such thing as witches! These poor animals are innocent. Please give yourself more credit as a human being with a brain.
kilroywashere123 2 months ago
@Theshofumiah1 hey i hate you!! and guess what nobody cares what you have to think!!! do everyone a favor and make a video of you sticking your head in a blender and then maybe ill give it a thumbs up.
p.s. these are the most beautiful animals. they must really have a great owner.

@RincoRncontinentaR well. u care cos u msg me back . I hate black cats, and thats the bottom line
Theshofumiah1 2 months ago
@RincoRncontinentaR Thanks for sticking up for my little Bear. But it's not necessary. Bear has his brother Kilroy to protect him from evil black cat haters. Grrr!

How adorable. I always wondered if I would ever see another dog that had a toothy smile. We had a retriever/border collie mix and when she was really excited, she would get this huge grin on her face and bare her teeth. It looked like a snarl with her lips curled in a smile..lol.
shivag73 2 months ago
@shivag73 Some dogs (like yours) do it naturally. I had to teach Kilroy. In this video, the first time he does it on his own (finally!) The second time I ask him to do it :-)

We just lost our dane of 12 years and I am seriously considering getting a dobbie. I have always admired them.
Remmepark 2 months ago
@Remmepark Dane of 12 years? WOW. That is a long time for a Dane to live. I am so sorry for your loss. If you look at my other videos ("Why you shouldn't let your dogs watch You Tube Videos") you will see our rescued dane who is 7 .

What a super nice dog! :-)

@Remmepark He is ridiculously so. Thanks!
kilroywashere123 2 months ago
Awww~ My pitty does the exact same thing to all my animals! :D The ferrets, the guinea pigs, the cats, she just loves to mother them.~
I'm actually getting a Dobie today, I've been waiting for months! Someone said their prone to disliking cats, but I don't believe that for a second. This especially disproves that. c:
Shithra 2 months ago
@Shithra Owning a pittie I am sure you hear all the untrue crap that people have to say about our dogs. They meet one pittie or Dobe or see something on TV and they think they know the whole breed. All we can do is continue to show the world the true nature of these loving souls. Please post your peaceable kingdom and let me know so I can see them together. Congratulations on your new family member :-)
kilroywashere123 2 months ago
@kilroywashere123 Yes, I had no clue Dobes also had a bad rap, like Pits, but I guess it does make sense given their purposes in the past. I don't mind one bit, though, I know it's all just a lie, and I plan on taking my new girl and my pitty into CGC and, later, therapy work to try and further disprove the lies stated.
I'd have already posted a video, but turns out the guy I was buying from sold my Dobe for $50 to some guy 'cause one of his dogs --
Shithra 2 months ago
@Shithra -- had ripped half of one of her ears off. I pleaded with him, to let me have his number so I could buy her off him, but he refused, so I pretty much said screw him and I wanted my money back, found a much nicer lady with one and I can go get her on the 17th. :l
Shithra 2 months ago
@Shithra Awwww, I am sorry she didn't get you for a home. What a jerk. Good luck with your new one!

so cute :)
geblickfickt 2 months ago
@geblickfickt Thanks. It's even cuter in person. Really puts life in perspective to see these 2 together all the time. My big "mean" Doberman is at the mercy of a blind cat :-)
kilroywashere123 2 months ago
Cats sense small air currents around the edges of objects, using the whiskers. Its like radar for cats. He probably can see shapes, and uses that in combination with his whiskers.
itsabomberscope 2 months ago
@itsabomberscope Cool! I did not know that! Because sometimes it is like he can see (but then he smacks into things and cannot see his food at all.)

Spud13ify 3 months ago
@Spud13ify yes he was. Almost dead when my son found him as an abandoned kitten...so dehydrated. Had to be on an IV.

kilroywashere123 2 months ago
@kilroywashere123 your spanish is excelent, and its so rare to wacth this, doberman a just so unstable :) great job with the dog, and the cat lol.
david19882008 2 months ago
@david19882008 Thank you! En el doberman de 1970 fueron un tipo diferente de perro. Hoy son criados para ser alerta e inteligente, pero no agresivo. Son tan fáciles de enseñar.

@kilroywashere123 - He doesn't seemed like a "quite" loving dog. In fact, Kilroy seemes like a VERY loving dobbie... I wouldn't mind having 10 Kilroys! *ENVY*

@fml3131 He is...thanks for your comments :-)
kilroywashere123 3 months ago
I can't help it :))) when you tell him to smile and he does that face... how did you teach him that? :)) I want to teach that to my Keira :)) she knows "gimme kiss baby" and "love me" but smile is priceless :)))
JanaKubalova 3 months ago
@JanaKubalova clicker training and "capturing." Is there ever a time where your dog is bored and just shows his teeth out of boredom? Example: I would be reading the newspaper and kilroy would be waiting for me to take him somewhere and I noticed he started making these faces. So I started having treats ready and I "captured" the behavior. Click and treat. Or you can dab a bit of peanut butter on his teeth and when he shows his teeth, click and reward.
kilroywashere123 3 months ago
@JanaKubalova Some dogs do it spontaneously. When I still lived at home we used to have a Dober that smiled a LOT although we never taught her to do so. (Come to think of it: that dog was quite quirky but so damn funny!) Nothing beats a good-morning-smile from your canine friend!
MentalRaptors 3 months ago
@MentalRaptors you're right. I think the dogs who do this on their own think they are people! Maybe they learn it by watching our faces? Very funny to see!
kilroywashere123 3 months ago
that blind cat can see pretty well
bigairbc 3 months ago
@bigairbc I am not sure how he does it. I know he has some sensation of light and dark in his right eye. I think he also knows the house well. But when I feed him he has to "root around" for the food dish, and if I accidentally leave a cabinet door open or move a piece of furniture he smacks right into it :-(

HOW OLD IS THE DOG?
theleakingpipe25 3 months ago
@theleakingpipe25 Hello. He is 6 1/2 years young :-)
kilroywashere123 3 months ago
Is that cat really blind?
cpuser37 3 months ago
@cpuser37 Yes he is blind...I think he sense some light and dark out of his right eye. His left eye never developed and is about the size of a pea while the right eye is a little bigger but still really small and undeveloped. We had surgery to remove the third eyelids as they were too big for those eyes but it didn't help that much. It amazes me how well he gets around the house, but when I set his food in front of him I remember how blind he is...it is hard for him to find it.

@kilroywashere123
that's so sad :( at about 2:07 in the video I did notice that his eyes looked a bit strange... it's a good thing that he has such a great owner to take care of him :)
cpuser37 3 months ago
@cpuser37 The white that you see is actually what is left of the third eyelid that the vet removed. If too much gets taken off there is danger of damaging the tear ducts, then any little sight he has left would also be gone. We think he sees something, since he is able to make his way around a little, but he bumps into objects such as chairs, open doors, etc) if they are moved at all

this cat reminds me of my Cat, he was 1 year old..
He went out in the evening on the street, and didn't come back ...
When my mother and I heard a meow from the basement, we watched as our cat was ..
He had internal bleeding and a broken pelvis ..
and was on the wall was his blood
The neighbors have done something very bad to him
But we never find out which neighbour it was ...
2 month later he died :(
