In ancient usage it appeared on Viking runestones, similar to the Valknut and as a decorative piece is early (pagan) Celtic artwork, rarely, if ever standing alone.

@TheZwatts Are you drawing while hungry? Naw... the key is to keep your center line true. If it is off that's only because you are human and humans cannot draw a straight line with the aide of a compass. It looks better with some flaws as it makes it real, not stiff and mechanical looking. The idea comes originally to your mind so that is where you should draw it from.
