Stealing is already illegal. I fail to see how regulations will stop more stealing and how more regulation will stop government wanting to bail out the banks even more

The real thief here is the government itself. They stole money from the American people and put it in the hands of the already reckless, and failing banks. Corporatism in America needs to end!
@davitodude Where in the fucking Constitution does it say that the government should NOT regulate the market? Capitalism works...there is no doubt about it. But Conservatives keep making this argument that ONLY those who run for office are idiots, and that somehow business owners and managers are not. There is nothing wrong with the citizens being in control of their government, but you need someone in charge of the market too for things to work.
Nowhere in the Constitution is the federal government given central planning powers and control over the economy. And per the 10th Amendment, it means it cannot claim such powers.
If you want to live under quasi-communism then you're living in the wrong country.
"Pwn is a leetspeak slang term derived from the verb own...as meaning to appropriate or to conquer to gain ownership. The term implies domination or humiliation of a rival,... used primarily in the Internet-based video game culture to taunt an opponent who has just been soundly defeated"
That's like asking why use the word "awesome" or "cool" or "groovy" or "keen", etc.
ZOMG is supposed to be OMG with sarcasm. You know OMG means 'Oh My G-d'. And it happened because instead of hitting the shift key to capitalize the z key was hit.
What's wrong with saying, "cool" or "groovy"? I use them both all the time. At least I'm not using "zool" or "froovy". The thing is, if you're going to type a word that's supposed to mean, "own", why not just type, "own"? Why use the wrong first letter, just because you made a typo? Why would I type, "U qant ro jiss tou", instead of, "I want to kiss you"? I mean, if you're going to use actual slang (kip = sleep, butchers = look, elephants = drunk) that's okay.
Why do the young guys wear their pants down around their lower hips? Why are girls showing their brazier strpas? Do you remember when the kids walked around with untied sneakers and the laces looked unbelievably dangerous? It is just a sign of the times, pop culture.
I used "PWN" to get a particular message across. Own doesn't quite do it.
In my day it was bell bottoms and blue work shirts and what does groove on a hamburger mean anyway? .
@jefgain Well, thank you! Comedy takes a minor back seat to music.
According to a home slice I asked at work a few months ago, they wear them like that so they can steal 2-liter bottles of pop. Yes, I remember a few months ago seeing kids with untied sneakers. Smack one in the back of the head one day and just walk away from him. He can't chase you because his pants will fall down and his shoestrings will trip him. I also see them wearing parka's in the summer and shorts in the dead of...
But if pwn means own, why not use own so normal people can understand it? If I said, "my friend is such a berk, he got too elephants, ran up the apples and had a yoff all over my cracker, then kipped in it all night!!" Would you have a clue what I was saying? Probably not, but at least it'd male more sense than using pwn instead of own.
Yes, I did the bell bottoms thing, too. When did it become a girls only thing? I'm still very big into the psych era!!
@jefgain To groove on a hamburger is to really enjoy it. Just like if you're grooving on the Dreadful Great, it means you're really enjoying them (although, I just can't see how!!) and you're feeeling good about it (again, I can't see how!!). How does one rock a skirt?
The Webster definition of groove has nothing to do with "enjoying" something. It is an urban usage and here is a website that might help 'urbandictionary'
@jefgain Does Webster say anything about the verb, to rock? Groove is a slang. It doesn't have to mean exactly what Webster say it means. Does Webster say anything about how the word, "blow", came to mean, "to suck"? Does it say how the word, "suck", came mean that something was terrible? Why are buildings called "buildings" when they're already done building them? They should be called, "builts"! Or, "crumblings", because that's what they're going to be doing from now on.
The fire that is burning America down is not yet out..... BUT sure enough, arrogant, impatient, ignorant Americans will tell the firemen to leave and invite the a(R)sonists back. Pure genius. It will spell the end of America. As the economy WILL collapse under Republican "leadership". That way they can enslave the American people. It's been their goal all along.... to KILL your protector, the government. Well, they won't kill it, they'll just buy it. Either way - we are SCREWED.
The bankers held the U.S. economy hostage while they were asking for bail-out money. "If you dont give us the money we ask for, we will shut down your entire economy" That is Criminal behaviour if I have ever seen it!
America should systematically fire each and every politician that accepts money from these banking firms!
I know what he's saying. I agree it's unjust for a private business to take an unapportioned amount of public money. But it's also unjust for the government to GIVE that public money. The congressmen who voted for the bailout bill should also be attacked. It is wrong for Moore to demonize exclusively private business and the profit motive when the is the fascist collusion between business AND government that creates the corrupt system. His movie should have been entitled Fascism: A love story.
Entropy, sorry, I see your question was more rhetoric because we should arrest the govt also for doing what they did. Thanks. I've never seen any of his movies but I loved what he had to say here.
PWN with Maher not PWNs Maher. He PWNs the gov't but just my humble opinion you are free to think what ever you like. I loved his spirit in the interview with Maher and I am "up in arms" and mad as hell!!!
