It's a very common chord. It's used in hundreds of worship songs. But not to say that Crowder isn't a good song writer.... he's not inventing any new chords though. :)

you tune the guitar, all strings, down a half step (Eb-Ab-Db-Gb-Bb-Eb). It gives a more full and deeper tone.

The trick to matching what David is doing here is being able to reach down to the F bass note on the low E string during the F9 chord (2nd measure of the progression) with your thumb - with the capo hindering you even further. David's using his long fingers to his advantage here. :-)
