besides i bet 90% of commenters on hd/husky casts are not in the grandmaster league so... it's just a different world. don't compare races just because of statistics in the upper league. Stats in upper league = stats FOR upper league.
robo + warp prism = technology investment. Which should be countered with another technology investment... i dunno maybe tunnelling claws or overlord drop?
im actually embarrassed FOR blizzard for making such an enormous mistake by introducing force fields to this game. the protoss player has so much control over the other player they might as well be playing against a fucking computer.

I play all races and I think its very equal. The Zerg are very economic, expendable units, and can't win in a straight up battle with no supporters like the infestors, The protoss are very Strong, defense is good too, and they can do some pretty good cheese, the Terran are good at economy, cheese, and have less expendable units than zerg but they still can.
@MrLoveStarcraft Zerg has the best air units for harassing, but the worst for real fights. Vikings are probably the best air units overall for their cost, but they're Terran units so of course they are.
@youtubing182 There's more to the game than pure numbers. Vikings are more useful, overall, than any other air unit for the cost and time it takes to make them. They don't harass as well as Mutas but they're better in straight fights and are better at fighting ground units and dealing with static defense. Corruptors are currently useless if not fighting air and Phoenixes can't do much versus ground units when they're out of energy.

@BertonGod actually i think its more zerg that simply are up with their early units, while both protoss and terran got early units with is totally valid through the whole game to use no matter what the enemy uses in his unit mix (marines and sentries are always usefull and good no matter what the enemy got); zergs early units zerglings are utterly useless at endgame full on incounters no matter the upgrades, simply bc they die way too fast to the high splash dmg the other races got..

Only Zerg can degenerate (without creeps); auto-heal; morph into different roles (Like Zerglings can be become banelings to instant-penetrate, Corruptor to Broodlord to lay siege and havoc)
Only Terran can burn down (red buildings); repair; heal? yes but medivac is needed and consider fungal growth and Feedback is there they wont last long.
Only Protoss cannot fix their buildings; have shield; Pylon/Summon troops anyway.
A small setback for each race, but hey, they rock.
i wonder how zerg is supposed to respond to this strategy where you use a warp prism and warp in sentries and gateway units to destroy the main while force fielding the ramp...doesnt seem to have an answer, especially if toss puts that many cannons up his own base. Ive never seen a zerg win against this strategy (not saying its op yet...its a new start i believe so there should be some time for people to figure it out)
@LordFrankGarrett i doubt it, the toss would have access to quite a few gateways for stalkers if the zerg was muta capable...in this case specifically there was a huge flock of pheonix in the air
Zerg's early weakness to air is honestly imba IMO. I think since theyre usually forced to play macro and expand their hatcheries should be able to morph in anti air or anti ground defense "add ons"
Queens can never win one on one against a stronger air unit. If u make too many queens they could be wasteful in most cases since their not really combat units.
There's literally no argument you could make for a race being stronger or weaker than another without disallowing their own strengths that only that race has. The three points I made above are things that only applies to how their worker units behave early on; clearly there are more uses for all of these things, but I was trying to give an example how 3 different 'abilities' for these races allow different uses without giving one race an advantage on 1v1 worker scenarios.
Why do people say zerg is the easiest to expand with? First off, while our expansion itself costs only 300 mins, it costs us a drone, so that is 350, and our hatcheries give us 2 supply, unlike the 10 from a nexus or command center, so that's anothe 100 mins to be even with the other races, we are at 450 now, and that doesn't factor in making another worker to replace the lost one. second, we can't set up static defenses before our hatchery is done and spreads creep... so how is it easier?
Each race is different. Zerg is the best race at expanding, quickly or otherwise, giving them the most resources, but their units are expendable. Protoss has the heaviest resource taxing units; but are very powerful and unique. Terran has cost effective marines, and versatility in their units.

None of those things is any OP than the other; they're DIFFERENT. You can't compare different races without accounting for everything.

All of that aside, the only thing that really bugs me about Terran is their ability to MULE. I hate seeing these TvT games end where each side has like 2 SCV's left and still pulls in 2k minerals. Not only do they have the most cost effective units but they also have the fastest, most cost effective harvesters?

@Bakalar That's exactly what I'm saying; The queens heal CANNOT be compared to a medivac's heal ONLY on the amount that it heals. Can a medivac heal building? no. And does a zergs health regen cost minerals? no. You can't be so narrowminded in a game of differences. This isn't 3 of the same base races with different looking units and different lore. Each has strongpoints and weaknesses that the others don't. If you give any point for the strength of one race, another race has it's counterpoint.
@OmgBackOff Terrans can heal. Terrans can nullify shields with emp and can out DPS almost any other race with more cost efficiency. While I won't say Terrans are OP I would say that they are imbalanced. Blizzard have made almost no attempt to fix that balance and in HOTS are clearly undecided in their Protoss direction, giving them new units that are gambles at best. Protoss have no solid direction atm hence the stagnant reliance on Collosi.
@OmgBackOff This is the design but in reality some things are not true. Protoss units are not the strongest now; they loose in a straight up fight because Force Fields would have ruined the game.

Zerg can spawn an absurd amount of units at the same time depending on how many larvae are on the map; protoss can instantly build units across the map and reinforce an army with a pylon. Nydus + warp prism. doesnt happen with a nydus or the warping units of a prism. This is hardly an explanation of the differences between races, but THERE ARE SO MANY FACTORS YOU ARE NOT TAKING INTO ACCOUNT, and you CANNOT judge individual parts of 2 DIFFERENT wholes.
YES Terran has better mechanics, yes each races has their defining features such has the warps and nydus, but in order for the game to be balanced there still must have some defining features which are similar..
Lets take the macro mechanic of each race. Protoss as Chrono, Zerg has inject lava and Terran has mules. Each of theses mechanics allow each race to increase the production of units and you know it is true.
Now Both Zerg and Protoss are punished for missing their timing on their macro mechanics.. You can't inject lava twice into 1 hatchery, and you cant chrono twice on the same buildings... BUT as terran you are able to dramatically increase your income every 200 seconds by summoning 4 mules at the SAME TIME, thus keeping you in the game for an extended period of time.
@OmgBackOff Now i'm a zerg/protoss player and neither one of those race is able to recover if they do a cheeze and fails. If you screw up a cannon rush... you are behind. if you screw up a 6 pool, you are behind. If you screw up a double rax bunker rush, you are ABLE TO recuperate your losses, through, 1. mules 2. salvage.
If you aren't ready for a hellion push.. you lose all you workers and pretty much it is gg... As a terran if i lose 4 hellions, its just 400 minerals... 1 mule= 300 minerals
@OmgBackOff Additionally guys, Zerg Lings and Corruptors can shift roles by morphing into different unit, any surviving units can later become something you need in later games. Protoss can hold choke-points better than the other two race. Terran can build ANYWHERE, bunker-rush behind enemy mineral and jump a reaper in it to cause havoc.
@OmgBackOff force fields are stupidly op. sentries as they are now are rediculess, find me another unit in the same tier which have ANYWHERE near the power off the sentries...

secondly because their eco spell (terran have mules, toss have chrono) is bound on a unit. it can be sniped too easily with some phoenixes. and those two points cumulated, because zerg has very weak anti-air in the early game.

this match shows how totally op forcefields and phoenixes are. their spell is totally destructive for any zerg. you cannot do one thing against ram forcefields. even the very powerfull counterattack by the zerg around the 10th minute can be held off too easily with phoenix and forcefields.
why is ff op? because you literally deny a zerg to enter a ramp. zergs drop possibility are extremly late compared to ff access.
why is phoenix op? mainly because zerg has its supplydepots in the air (1/2)
i wonder how idra wouldve handled this differently, my guess is he prob wouldve told gatored to go to hell once he sees the protoss army in his base and getting forcefield out of it

Don't think it's a wise decision on gatrored chose to kill overlords & queens, they're beefy & need so much time to kill even with 10+ phoehix. The game should end much earlier if gatored do a mass pick up on drones at the 3rd & 2nd when he reveals them, then follow by the warp prism sentry drop. DRG will have no econ to build any forces because he need to rebuild all the drones & production structures.

@DeltaLoc Zerg don't have to build a Starport, reactor and medivacs to let their units to be healed one by one. Zerg healing is completely free.

@RoarinPanda and slow as shit. it doesn't offer any assistance in battle, only if you save your units and escape, then have a minute or two to sit around and do nothing.
All of that aside, the only thing that really bugs me about Terran is their ability to MULE. I hate seeing these TvT games end where each side has like 2 SCV's left and still pulls in 2k minerals. Not only do they have the most cost effective units but they also have the fastest, most cost effective harvesters?

@RoarinPanda no but for the "free" healing to be effective u have to have mass queens. for the most part Z players dont go "hey im gunna mass queens so i can heal my units." no they go im going to get 1 queen per base for larva and maybe an extra for creep. thats about it.

@OmgBackOff any idea how slow it is to regenerate hp as compared to repairing and regeneration of shields?
even the queen's heal cannot be compared to a medivac's heal.
zerg's units are very expendable. the heal factor is insignificant.

@Bakalar That's exactly what I'm saying; The queens heal CANNOT be compared to a medivac's heal ONLY on the amount that it heals. Can a medivac heal building? no. And does a zergs health regen cost minerals? no. You can't be so narrowminded in a game of differences. This isn't 3 of the same base races with different looking units and different lore. Each has strongpoints and weaknesses that the others don't. If you give any point for the strength of one race, another race has it's counterpoint.

@OmgBackOff Terrans can heal. Terrans can nullify shields with emp and can out DPS almost any other race with more cost efficiency. While I won't say Terrans are OP I would say that they are imbalanced. Blizzard have made almost no attempt to fix that balance and in HOTS are clearly undecided in their Protoss direction, giving them new units that are gambles at best. Protoss have no solid direction atm hence the stagnant reliance on Collosi.

@OmgBackOff This is the design but in reality some things are not true. Protoss units are not the strongest now; they loose in a straight up fight because Force Fields would have ruined the game.

BESIDES you can't use either one of these arguments objectively because it relies on the players micro and placement of units to see who beats the other to the punch. Would you think it is fair that ghosts can use cloak and then EMP your protoss army? If EMP can take down shields they should be able to temporarily shut down Mech units for a second.

What you have failed to see is that fact that you can remove pretty much half of protoss's shield with emp... and its original hp never regens whilst terran units can...

Zerg can spawn an absurd amount of units at the same time depending on how many larvae are on the map; protoss can instantly build units across the map and reinforce an army with a pylon. Nydus + warp prism. doesnt happen with a nydus or the warping units of a prism. This is hardly an explanation of the differences between races, but THERE ARE SO MANY FACTORS YOU ARE NOT TAKING INTO ACCOUNT, and you CANNOT judge individual parts of 2 DIFFERENT wholes.

YES Terran has better mechanics, yes each races has their defining features such has the warps and nydus, but in order for the game to be balanced there still must have some defining features which are similar..
Lets take the macro mechanic of each race. Protoss as Chrono, Zerg has inject lava and Terran has mules. Each of theses mechanics allow each race to increase the production of units and you know it is true.

Now Both Zerg and Protoss are punished for missing their timing on their macro mechanics.. You can't inject lava twice into 1 hatchery, and you cant chrono twice on the same buildings... BUT as terran you are able to dramatically increase your income every 200 seconds by summoning 4 mules at the SAME TIME, thus keeping you in the game for an extended period of time.

@OmgBackOff Now i'm a zerg/protoss player and neither one of those race is able to recover if they do a cheeze and fails. If you screw up a cannon rush... you are behind. if you screw up a 6 pool, you are behind. If you screw up a double rax bunker rush, you are ABLE TO recuperate your losses, through, 1. mules 2. salvage.
If you aren't ready for a hellion push.. you lose all you workers and pretty much it is gg... As a terran if i lose 4 hellions, its just 400 minerals... 1 mule= 300 minerals

@OmgBackOff Additionally guys, Zerg Lings and Corruptors can shift roles by morphing into different unit, any surviving units can later become something you need in later games. Protoss can hold choke-points better than the other two race. Terran can build ANYWHERE, bunker-rush behind enemy mineral and jump a reaper in it to cause havoc.

@OmgBackOff Terran also have the ability to supply drop and drop mules which greatly increase there ability to grow without the worry of needing more to wait for supply or wait for resources if on even bases. So really terran can do most of what a zerg and protoss can do, but also has extreme versatility. Anyone who thinks terran isn't OP atm i'd like to point them to the SC2 top 20 brackets of just about every tournament in the last 3 months. 13+ terran, 5+ zerg, and 2+ protoss. yeah not OP lol

secondly because their eco spell (terran have mules, toss have chrono) is bound on a unit. it can be sniped too easily with some phoenixes. and those two points cumulated, because zerg has very weak anti-air in the early game.

this match shows how totally op forcefields and phoenixes are. their spell is totally destructive for any zerg. you cannot do one thing against ram forcefields. even the very powerfull counterattack by the zerg around the 10th minute can be held off too easily with phoenix and forcefields.
why is ff op? because you literally deny a zerg to enter a ramp. zergs drop possibility are extremly late compared to ff access.
why is phoenix op? mainly because zerg has its supplydepots in the air (1/2)

Don't think it's a wise decision on gatrored chose to kill overlords & queens, they're beefy & need so much time to kill even with 10+ phoehix. The game should end much earlier if gatored do a mass pick up on drones at the 3rd & 2nd when he reveals them, then follow by the warp prism sentry drop. DRG will have no econ to build any forces because he need to rebuild all the drones & production structures.
