Nice video, I feel more confident that I know what my worms need, now. A drainage tray and those vents should really help my situation. A friend gave me a pile of worms for my bin and I was afraid they would suffocate and/or drown, so I've been leaving the lid slightly ajar. Getting into it today, I see that it's soggy and some tiny, white, legged critters have moved in. I'll just get the drainage and vents in there and hopefully they'll move out and my worms will proliferate.
@veggeeburgher I am glad we could help. Once you get it going it is really pretty low maintenance. I am not sure what critters have moved in havent had any of those. If you can not get rid of them you can always empty out and start over with some wet news paper. I was the camera man and the bin we created was my first i havent had to water it that much. just mist it every now and then and i give it a turn once every month sometime more or less.
I started a bin with worms from my garden. Later I purchased red wigglers for another bin. Both bins are doing well and I have used castings on plants already. I love to watch the youtube videos to get new ideas.
I added a link in the discription to the site we created for enviromental ecology it has info on composting, worm/compost teas, waste management facts, as well as, water conservation.

You did a good job of explaining the worm bin and how it functions. It is nice to get kids involved in the process.
