  • I like the first shots at TJ. Had some fun sessions there. I grew up in Del Mar on the hill above the DMSR. Gator ruled the Kona pool and the Keyhole when I was 14. So good you would not believe it, fast and huge. I remember the whole Gator story. I even saw Gator skating at Josh Nelson's ramp after he had killed that girl. He had lost his marbles way before that turning into a wierdo, so we did not think much of his wierd silence and introverted behavior. This is a sad story, he went crazy

  • Gator KKKan stay @ my crib when he getz out. I wonder if Gator joined the aryan brotherhood in prison? That part of him in "full power trip" sk8n that pool in Florida blowz mindz. I'll have sum hookerz waitin' 4 him when he getz out. Gator hazn't had any pussy in awhile.

  • FREE GATOR

  • if he gets out ...it won't be like when christian got out......a killer is'nt really cool "cool"....

  • haah escondido i live there this FREAK USED TO LIVE IN MY CITY HAHAH WTF

  • Gator is a good example of the creative/destructive power of the ego, his ego gave him recognition a sakend success but ultimately destroyed him. This doc backs up a theory I have subscribed to for a while that wherever there is glamour , power or success there will be psychos circling like vultures. Gator was certainly a psychopath. I hope his whole God trip wasn't totally phoney for his sake

  • one of my idols when I was skating in the 80's...had some good songs too that seemed to have disappeared

  • where was I when all this was going on? Everyone says it was IT, it was the greatest, it was where it was AT....somehow, I got thru life without even knowing skateboarding was going on. maybe it was a california thing, I don't know. I don't feel deprived or anything.

  • @Bhav341 In California skating was huge. They were the first to have skateparks. They even had malls that had ramps in them. I remember always wishing we had them in MA. Years later skateparks would be everywhere. Long after I was in my 20s. I remember when we tried to go to city hall to get the politicians to put in skate parks, they all feared that kids would fall, break something and sue the city

  • @TheFutureLooksGrimm yeah, California, that's what I figured. And while it was happening, there I was, all the way on the other side of the country by the atlantic ocean, living my life oblivious to the fact. Oh well.

  • This movie is like attending your best friends funeral - remembering how fucking awesome everything was before everything suddenly fell apart.

Amazing movie! Late 80's/early 90's skateboarding was just the shit. Such an amazing time.

  • yeh i recal those vision gator decks very well, and all of that flourescent griptape and wheels... even them rails. weird years. i agree, the design was very "electric" vibe to it...

  • Straws aren't cool.

    COOL!

  • I remember that Gator deck like it was yesterday!

  • That monday I got the ball rolling as far as getting diagnosed and getting medication(long process) A few months later I was able to finally start my meds and now in 2011 I am a lot different for the better. I still hate being bipolar, it is not a gift, it is very fucked. I love you Mark, I keep you in my prayers brother. Dave in Sacramento, Ca. **JESSICA REST IN PEACE**

  • In Dec. '06 my brother died and I quit alcohol cold turkey. I thought my anger problem would subside. But it got TWICE as bad. When I would get in arguments with people on the street I would want to cut em up in pieces. In Sep. '07 I first rented Stoked and towards the end of the DVD chills went up my spine. I saw a mirror image of my life, my personality and my problems in a nutshell right there on the tv screen. I KNEW INSTANTLY WHAT WAS WRONG WITH ME, I WAS "SEVERE BIPOLAR MANIC DEPRESSIVE"

  • MARK ROGOWSKI SAVED MY LIFE. HE SAVED ME FROM ENDING SOMEONE'S LIFE AND HE SAVED ME FROM A LIFE OF REGRET IN PRISON. God judges your heart. God knows if something is premeditated or if someone just snaps. Either way, even if the "killer" evades incarceration and dies a free old person, or if the killer is killed a couple years after the crime, the moment your soul returns to the Father who gave it, THAT'S WHEN the real trial begins. And guess who's gonna be on the witness stand. The victim.

  • did they really just call tony hawk a "Former pro-skater"... how dare they!

  • @brooklynskater1313 He's been retired for a really long time :)

  • @christiantjr I wouldnt call it retired. he came back in the late 1990s. He is still the best skater out

  • Gator may have been a great skater, but he wasn't anything else. He was really just an incredibly shallow person; a one-trick pony. When the 80's ended and the rough-and-tumble street skating of the 90's came in, he was like a relic of a bygone era.

I hadn't even heard of him before this documentary came out.

  • @MondoBeno

no, Gator was A great all around skater. At one time only a A few skaters could do a mctwist. He was one of them.

  • @MondoBeno

never heard of him before this doc??? WOW!

  • this is a good film,i use too own the dvd,it was made in 03 or 04

  • damn....i honestly never heard of him before in all my years of skating...i'mma watch this whole film...

  • when did this movie come out

  • uff, el intro del video es en Tijuana Mexico.

  • Does anyone know the song playing during the VISION section?

  • gator killed an innocent person. anyone who likes him is just as lame.

  • @PUNKSTERdarien it's Naked Raygun's "i don't know", off their album Throb throb - they were a really great Chicago band.

  • @calamitycrush9 nice,thanks man .

  • @PUNKSTERdarien THIN LIZZY

  • gator is raw and gnarly style. but deserves to rot in prison

  • hey guys John brinton Hogan is my uncle he is the one who turned him in and he made an apperance in this movie dont believe me if you want idc but he is so i know

  • By the time this was at the halfway point I started to hate this guy, esp. the marc antony bs , jason jesse made this story less disgusting to hear by his radiant sense of right, but by movies end I found myself wishing Gator wouldve gotten death sentence if he gets out ever the first person who recognizes him will stomp his larynx

  • Mark was just denied parole this past Monday (February 7th 2011). He will be eligible again in 7 years.

  • @Timoth1983

Good. I liked him in the day but he should be locked up for life.

  • @Timoth1983 thats sooo fucked up are you serious? he only gets 1 fuckin chance every 7 years to be free?

  • @Timoth1983 He should have gotten the death penalty.

  • @Timoth1983 Honestly he should never get out.
