So I have been sent enough info to make me believe this was staged and that these guys were all wrestlers. Here's my take. On a positive note I think it did a great job of getting ROH some exposure, and added to Rhetts image. Overall I think this was a bad move because it comes across as something that happens regularly at these events. That can lead others that are NOT part of the act to do the same, and it may keep some ppl away that don't want to be caught up with "hooligan" mentalities.
I don't understand how anyone could think this was anything but a work. For one, security would allow a couple fans to hang around the inside of the building that long after the show was over? Really? Two, that punch was the big tipping point. Finally, if this was real (like what happened with Aries at Final Battle 08), the douche would have made a big stink about this on the internet and it would have gotten out months ago.
@PenanceXS 1st point - Security at an indy show will often let fans stay to get autographs and pics. Been to enough to know. Went to the ROH show in Orlando a couple years ago and that is exactly what about 15 people did. 2nd point - That punch connects and you see it. I think you are underestimating the stupidity of some of these wrestling fans. A guy like that has to be insecure with her for a girlfriend...so he tries to bow up. Bad plan, but then we never had an exit strategy in Irag either.
@invasionsend Okay, fair enough on my 1st point, but that punch looked like it barely connected, if at all. My first comment doesn't matter anyway, because it's been proven that these "fans" are local workers up in Canada, so it's clearly a work.
@PenanceXS Nothing's been proven to me as of yet. The one person who dropped names said he was too lazy to post the proof. I have no idea if the are wrestlers or not. It's possible, but I haven't seen anything that makes me believe it. What I will say is this. IF this is all a work, the ROH has fallen pretty far from the company they once were. They were about honor and respect, and if they have stooped to staging fan run ins, that is sad. It makes others think this is a normal occurrence.
@Am3ricanW0lf I don't think there was anything about this incident that was a work what-so-ever. Some of these morons just figure he's an indy guy and they can kick his ass because they were tough guys in the 8th grade lunch room once upon a time.
@invasionsend They did the same thing on this show for Austin Aries and one of the guys involved made a youtube vid, saying it was a work. They got tickets to the NY show, just for being apart of it.
@Am3ricanW0lf not that I don't believe you but I'd need some proof of all that. I mean if that other dude is a wrestler...well...DAMN. That doesn't say much for the future of wrestling.
@Am3ricanW0lf I have and i hardly see what one has to do with the other? This idiot was simply coming in and Rhett new he was going to clean his clock, and he did. You may not be able to tell on this video, but the first thing I noticed on tv was the coloring of his hand shortly after. He connected but believe what you will.
Are these guys fucking stupid or what? Fiurst dude got knocked the fuck out and that second idiot was just moronic. It's called playing a part you jackasses. If Titus did that to my girl I'd laugh my ass off and enjoy the show. Why do these idiots get so worked up? Maybe they should go backand attend WWE events where the wrestlers arealmost not allowed to get near the fans.
The only violence I wanna see at wrestling matches, is the matches and the competition itself and that's the only time a wrestler wants to fight.
a lesson to fans who do this:
By doing this nonsense, you're asking yourself look completely gullible, stupid, retarded, foolish, etc and you hurt the wrestlers and other fans when you do this nonsense.
@BigHippiePat ....and it's not the 80s anymore. I've read stories from Jim Cornette's Midnight Express 25th Anniversary Scrapbook of fans that tried to attack them when they were heels.
These guys will never learn. It's a show. Rhett did his job. if I brought my GF to a show and Rhett did his gimmick with us, it would be an honor. I would even think him for making us apart of the show, but this teabag decided to get offended by him playing his role.
Fans like this should never be allowed to go to a wrestling show.
Get 'em Titus holy shit!

@invasionsend To add onto it. I just found out the guy he punched was indy wrestler Joey Kings and his friend is indy wrestler Ethan Page.
