@cavila01 As i recall, Goku said ti himself that transforming in the other world was way easier than the Earth. He could easily transform into a super sayian 3 and remain as long as he wanted to, those rules do not apply in Earth.
So to sum it up, Goku spent his whole training with king kai even when he died the first time, special training for him. Vegeta all he had was the gravity champer.
what was great about the rivalry being Goku and Vegeta was that you couldn't really hate either of them. Not like today's anime where the creator does things in the storyline that makes you want to hate whichever character. Naruto and Sasuke for instance, you want to hate Naruto because he's a fucking idiot. And you want to hate Sasuke because he's a piece-of-shit near-Godmode character. And you want to hate both of them cuz they're gay
It doesnt matter if goku can get to SSJ3 or not, if Vegeta in his SSJ2 stage is as strong as Goku in his SSJ2 stage then they have the same power, if vegeta learned how to get to SSJ3 then he would be as strong as Goku SSJ3 but he didnt cause he didnt die, also it takes like 10 minutes for goku to transform, and that transformation is inestable, goku said it when vegeta discovered about his transformation when they were against super buu
@TylerXNL they aren't the same power level. Goku had a whole other level that he was holding back. Vegeta even gets mad at goku later in the buu saga for doing it once he found out that Goku could go ssj3.
@pandorasmk you are loosing the poing, if goku would have defeated vegeta AS a ssjj2 then yeah, goku is stronger, but he needs to pass to the other stage, he is only stronger than vegeta when he gets as a ssjj3. If they are equal as ssjj2 then if vegeta could transform to ssjj3 as well they would have the same power, it all depends on the transformation. ohh and vegeta was mad with goku because he didnt fight as a ssjj3, only there he could have defeated vegeta easily

Vageta used Babidi's majin form to get stronger, like spopavich or whatever did, that lead him to being almost the same strength as goku in his SSJ2 form, if goku turned SSJ3, vageta would have easly lost, and goku could have beaten buu at the time with SSJ3 if vageta wasn't so ignorant.

In my opinion I think that at the end of DBZ where they meet Uub, Vegeta was able to transform into a SS3 simply because it took Goku 7 years and by then Vegeta was SS2 meaning that another 5 years would be more than enough for Vegeta to achieve that form

this was an Awesome fight, but it ruined it for me when Goku later admitted that he was'nt trying his best and letting vegeta beat on him. So I was bummed out.

@teentitansrobin06 So that being pointed out Goku needed Other World training, and others help to get as strong as he did... where as Vegeta only needed himself. Because if you remember the only reason Goku 'beat' Vegeta in the beginning of the series was because he had help from King Kai (Kaioken Atteck) and help from Krillin, Gohan, and Yajirobe. Hence why I like Vegeta better because he doesn't need to die or rely on anyone else for his power to increase.
@princemarth150 Yeah since they didn't have any time for him to do it naturally. It would have happened eventually I feel but the time was short and Goku couldn't do it himself so Vegeta had to cheat unfortunately... Although I think SSJ3 Vegeta would have looked kinda dumb with that big ass widows peak he already has lol.
@GirGasm one correction though. Vegeta needed Babidi's help to turn SSJ2 and all that gravity training helped him grow stronger until he became a SSJ. So in a way, both of them needed help to become super saiyans

By the way he got the power to archieve SS4 but he was unable to transform because he need the Tail, so Bulma invented the machine to grow his tail back.

Remember, Goku is in his dead body which is tougher than an alive body (I remember him himself stating this when vegeta was fighting Kid Buu). So Goku has an advantage in defense there.
People confuse Goku's holding back a transformation as him being too strong for Vegeta. No, this is not the case. If I fight you in Super Saiyan 1, and you fight me in Super Saiyan 1, and I lose, it means you're stronger than me. If we're both even on the transformations then the person who loses is the weaker one. It's like two cups. If you both can hold the same amount of water, but one breaks faster, than the other is the stronger. If I compared a cup to a milk jug, it wouldn't be fair.
@RyanKaufman id have to disagree, i believe that if we were both super saiyian 1, and i beat you, that would make me a better fighter, however if u then went to super sayian 2 and beat me then u are stroner, not necessearily a better fighter. just like they have weight divisions in fighting, goku is "stronger" but the i dont believe he is a better fighter, it always kinda annoyed me that he was always stronger than vegeta... vegeta has a way better mentatlity and fighting ability

@JaLomangino Well if you want to go that route, you can say that every super saiyan aside from Goku is bs, since Frieza saga was supposed to be the end of DBZ, and the original plot was that a super saiyan was as rare as a white liger that could reproduce. Naturally Goku is the strongest if you see it that way. I see it as levels. If Goku fights on Vegeta's level, he'll be beaten, and if Goku fights on his own level, he'll easily beat Vegeta. Thus making a paradox.
@JaLomangino Goku is stronger, but Vegeta is a better fighter... Goku is also the star and its rare to see a star out shined by a supporting character. Goku also gets way more breaks than Vegeta throughout the Dragon Ball universe. From the Ultra Devine Water in DB all the way to training in the Afterlife. This helps him achieve this power we see and gives him an upper hand. This is why I respect Vegeta more, although all of Gokus help comes from his selflessness and sacrifice (karma or reward)
@DarthNevar ehh i dont know if vegeta is a better fighter, they said in the early dragonball episodes to train and their fighting skills would improve with their strength and speed, do the saiyans ever really practice martial arts and learn moves? i dont know but i thought their fighting ability came from their instincts and physical abilities.
@JaLomangino You don't need a particular style to be a better fighter, he's a brilliant tactical fighter and been called a "Genius" in regards to fighting. Unfortunately he's well aware of the fact, and the reason why he gets his ass whooped a lot. He relies heavily on his ability to interpret and adapt to opponents, which would be an asset rather than a liability for other fighters. Arrogance & rage cloud his judgement. Also being royalty and Frieza's pet he might know more than your avg saiyan

@Mr17Rocker Going off that rule would mean you also have to go off canon storyline. In which, Goku was born with the ability to surpass his regular body and advance to Super Saiyan. Vegeta didn't have that, he had to work at it, and technically he shouldn't even be able to go into SSJ, which is why claiming Goku is stronger is a little skewed. It's like calling Paris Hilton richer than Mark Zuckerburg or someone else that worked for their wealth, rather than get born into it.

During their entire fight, they went toe-to-toe and neither one of them budged. You said the one that "breaks faster" is the weaker one. As true as that may be, that doesn't apply here. yea in the buu saga goku was able to hit ssj3 so in this he didn't want to hurt vegetas pride so he just went to ssj2 with vegeta. both are badass characters
@gokunaruto12 Goku got beat down by Vegeta in their first fight. Goku used Kaio-Ken X 3 to take the advantage then Vegeta transformed which gave him a 10X power boost. Totally fair considering if Goku could have used Kaio-Ken X 10 he would have. Goku got wrecked hardcore their first fight.

@teentitansrobin06 So that being pointed out Goku needed Other World training, and others help to get as strong as he did... where as Vegeta only needed himself. Because if you remember the only reason Goku 'beat' Vegeta in the beginning of the series was because he had help from King Kai (Kaioken Atteck) and help from Krillin, Gohan, and Yajirobe. Hence why I like Vegeta better because he doesn't need to die or rely on anyone else for his power to increase.

It would have happened eventually I feel but the time was short and Goku couldn't do it himself so Vegeta had to cheat unfortunately... Although I think SSJ3 Vegeta would have looked kinda dumb with that big ass widows peak he already has lol.

@GirGasm one correction though. Vegeta needed Babidi's help to turn SSJ2 and all that gravity training helped him grow stronger until he became a SSJ. So in a way, both of them needed help to become super saiyans

Wrong. Goku cheated too. Neither of them could do it on their own, the only difference was who helped them do it. And really, the only reason Goku even got to the third level is because he was training in Other World, which he states himself, probably the reason why he chose not to reveal the form to Vegeta. Before he even knows what Vegeta is capable of, he says he is going to end the fight quickly with his highest power, and only goes to the second level. They are even.

By the way he got the power to archieve SS4 but he was unable to transform because he need the Tail, so Bulma invented the machine to grow his tail back.
Goku on the other hand is the Legend, he is the unnatural invincible strong character that will always be a step ahead of everything. He is also the author main character.

People confuse Goku's holding back a transformation as him being too strong for Vegeta. No, this is not the case. If I fight you in Super Saiyan 1, and you fight me in Super Saiyan 1, and I lose, it means you're stronger than me. If we're both even on the transformations then the person who loses is the weaker one. It's like two cups. If you both can hold the same amount of water, but one breaks faster, than the other is the stronger. If I compared a cup to a milk jug, it wouldn't be fair.

@JaLomangino Well if you want to go that route, you can say that every super saiyan aside from Goku is bs, since Frieza saga was supposed to be the end of DBZ, and the original plot was that a super saiyan was as rare as a white liger that could reproduce. Naturally Goku is the strongest if you see it that way. I see it as levels. If Goku fights on Vegeta's level, he'll be beaten, and if Goku fights on his own level, he'll easily beat Vegeta. Thus making a paradox.

Goku also gets way more breaks than Vegeta throughout the Dragon Ball universe. From the Ultra Devine Water in DB all the way to training in the Afterlife. This helps him achieve this power we see and gives him an upper hand. This is why I respect Vegeta more, although all of Gokus help comes from his selflessness and sacrifice (karma or reward)

@JaLomangino You don't need a particular style to be a better fighter, he's a brilliant tactical fighter and been called a "Genius" in regards to fighting. Unfortunately he's well aware of the fact, and the reason why he gets his ass whooped a lot. He relies heavily on his ability to interpret and adapt to opponents, which would be an asset rather than a liability for other fighters. Arrogance & rage cloud his judgement. Also being royalty and Frieza's pet he might know more than your avg saiyan

@Mr17Rocker Going off that rule would mean you also have to go off canon storyline. In which, Goku was born with the ability to surpass his regular body and advance to Super Saiyan. Vegeta didn't have that, he had to work at it, and technically he shouldn't even be able to go into SSJ, which is why claiming Goku is stronger is a little skewed. It's like calling Paris Hilton richer than Mark Zuckerburg or someone else that worked for their wealth, rather than get born into it.

During their entire fight, they went toe-to-toe and neither one of them budged. You said the one that "breaks faster" is the weaker one. As true as that may be, that doesn't apply here. The only thing you could base it off of is Goku begging Vegeta to quit fighting him and help him fight Majin Buu which doesn't hold much of an argument.
