This is the greatest game ever made, hands down. It takes quite a bit to get into it at first, but once you learn the history and get the right equipment, right video card, it's incredible. I played this 3 days straight once without any sleep. you can literally become an expert in battle planning, learn little tricks where an army of 200 can defeat one of 1500.. Whoever programmed this thing is an absolute genius.

I downloaded this, I was able to get on the menu, start to create battles and campaigns, then when I clicked start, it just turned off and said "Rome Total War not responding" :/

I'm having a problem with my download of Total realism. The download asked me to start fresh with a version of Rome Total War 1.0. then to install 1.2 patch then download the 6.0 and 6.2 patches of total realism that came with it

I start the game and right at the screen where it shows who made it and all the trademarks etc. it stops and says rtw stopped working???? Anybody know where i can get a legit download of total realism or a solution to my problem???

RTR is more stressing on your computer than RTW so there could very well be the answer as to why your game crashes on occasion

you can make a back up file of the original RTW, and just copy it. Then you can install the RTR mod on the copied RTW file. easy as that.

No man if you go on the RTR website you can download the mod switch for RTR 6.0 Whitch lets you play both. i have just done this and it works fine.

the rtr version that you have to download depends onthe rtw version you have. IF you have rtw 1.3 or 1.0 you have to download rtr gold version if you have 1.5 you have to download rtr platinium

Found the solution earlier today, RTR was installing to the wrong directory, the DVD version of total war installs to "The Creative Assembly/Rome Total War, whereas the older versions install to "Activision/Rome Total War", (this is just for people that had the same issue as me).

would you guys say that RTR Platinum is better than SPQR Total War 7.0? I tried downloading SPQR. It took a whole 2 hours. Then ran it, and followed all the instructions, even saving it in the CA folder, instead of the Activision. But 90%into the install progress the installer says "an error has been found in the installer. please download a clean copy and retry" WHAT THE FUCK. RTR won't do that, right?
