  • StarBucks is making loads of money off this, I hope since they send some of that money to Israel to help with the fires...since StarBucks is owned by Jews, I'm told. Even if not, they can send charity to Israel..

  • Great video. David is not taking credit for this day, he was just inspired by a random act of kindness one year ago (Dec. 1st) from a stranger and decided he wanted more people to feel the rewards of giving and receiving the benefits from an unexpected good deed.

  • t's a great idea, and i did try today to be nice and extra kind. but Have not got my act together really. I've seen a film with this title, so I am going to follow the little boy's lead. as well as David's coze he started the event on facebook. and now we have so many people actually thinking of doing something nice.

  • I have a special pink angel that I created for my Cousin Cindy. If I meet someone with breast cancer ... I share an angel with them. If someone is wants to adopt one of my pink angels ... they make a donation to the Susan G Komen Foundation

  • I listened to it all, (someone needs to get into the giving - Christmas spirit, instead of being so negative on a good deed). I think it's great that people are responding to doing good deeds regardless if David started the idea.

  • omg, is that my cuzn?!?!

  • THANK YOU David!

  • Just think the color of our bars made the news and had no impacted on people's lives!

This Will and I am blowing my page up with the movement idea! Thank you David for thinking this one up for the Facebook world!!!

  • Fabulous movie & fabulous idea to do every day!

  • Thank you David, for helping to remind us to be thankful for all we have and to make others happy by sharing. PIF Day is awesome and may it continue in many many ways.

  • He is not saying it was his idea people.. he's saying because someone did an act of kindness to him it caused him to turn around and do the same.. he created this "event" on facebook to only share with his friends.. but it took on a life of it's own... come on you guys.. PLUS the author of the book and the non-profit Pay It Forward has contact him and is in full support..

  • I really don't think he is taking credit, but it is a great idea...I will be paying it forward somehow tomorrow.....

This has to be an individual, unselfish act to make it work.....

  • SPAM post for that address

  • I love the idea, however this guy probably shouldn't act like it was his idea. It has been out for a very long time and is meant to be a random act of kindness. This should happen daily, not on one day especially when people are starting to feel the Christmas spirit. I believe this is something that should occur any day of the year! Those people that feel good about themselves for showing kindness on one day should really feel what it's like to do it everyday! It's a good feeling!

  • LOVE!!!!!

  • @pink

It's not about the movie. Just like with everything in life we must start small. When someone did the dame to me at an icee store, I did the same for the next person. I did it because it felt good to help others.

  • Suggest a GOOD DEED and look at all the "haters" comments that show up?!?! If you practice this every day, then why condemn another for doing it too??

So what if he mentions it?! Just be kind to others, Including him!!

  • Do it in a Bar David............LOL That's like buying a round of drinks and then the second round is paid for by the next guy and so on. What is attending this event?

  • TheMahaffey6 you really are a cold hearted person why do you have to be a complete dumb ass and try to screw up a good thing?

  • this is a stolen idea from the movie Pay It Forward! This pisses me off.

  • @TheMahaffey6

    you're dumb

  • my parents taught me this at a very early age...to pay it forward. it's not always much, but whoever you've helped may just appreciate it in a big way!

  • Lord, I want to be your hands and feet! Want to live a life that leads...to see you set the captive free..until the whole world hears!! And I pray the day will see more of YOU and less of ME...LORD I WANT MY LIFE TO BE THE SONG YOU SING!!! PAY IT FORWARD!!!

  • Great work David! We look forward to working with you to continue to grow this movement! Happy Pay It Forward Day!

  • I only hear music, no voices. I'm going to do it anyway. Love the idea, start today, practice 21 days, new habit.

  • @Dhyana92177 I'm sorry you had trouble viewing.. if you have the opportunity please try on another computer and let me know if the problem continues .

  • i stay in the outskirts of the city when i go to the city to work i at times find on the off ramps people asking for change .. what I do is give them my lunch since it may be more possible for me to get lunch from some establishment near the jobsite. Now it doesn't land on this"pay it forward" day that is mentioned.

We can all help each others and doesnt have to be on the one day that became publicly known ... am I right or just blowing hot air like this guy.

  • is HE the new JESUS?! praise Ninurta!!!

  • I really think he is just the messenger everyone should know how to be kind and should be but sometimes a reminder doesnt hurt.

  • Let's make everyday a pay it forward day!!!

  • It's an incrediable feeling to pay it forward....and if you haven't seen the movie and not sure what it can do to someone and yourself - spend a couple hours and watch it...you won't be disappointed!!!!!

  • @splashtruck... I know David personally (we attended grad school together...GO FRESNO STATE!) and he is NOT full of himself AT ALL. Not sure how you got this. He simply invited a few of his friends on FaceBook to take part in this day and it has spread the world. It's a great idea and I've already done it this morning. Great event! GO DAVID and everyone else who is taking part!!!!

  • Awesome, Found this on FB, did P.I.F. today and shared with my friends. Keep up the good work! xxx

  • I think it's a wonderful thought and something that he's not getting paid to do, just an idea to repay someone's kindness and make the world a much nicer place. Kudos, David! It's amazing that this has grown so much and inspires HOPE!!

  • Wow, this guy is so full of himself -- which is abhorrent to the original purpose of the Pay it Forward concept, which existed LONG before he ever created an 'event' for it on facebook.

  • @splashtruck regardless if he is "full of himself" (which I do not see myself) and regardless if the concept itself has been around for a long time, its a GOOD THING that he started, a move towards a thoughtful and caring humanity, WHY would you bash such a thing? Try to be part of the solution, instead of BEING the problem.

  • I'm not bashing the concept -- in my community, this IS a way of life, my family has indeed lived the PIF life DAILY -- what is bothersome was that he's using this whole video to toot his own horn, which is abhorrently hypocritical to the whole PIF intent of selfless acts without claiming credit. By not deflecting the credit, he missed an opportunity to put focus on the true meaning. We will continue to pay it forward regularly (not just annually), but credit goes to God, not to this guy.

  • @splashtruck you are kinda tooting your own horn. Well at least he is getting the idea out and he is sparking peoples ideas about the idea and some people might just PIF more often. So you shouldn't come here and talk down his video.

  • @splashtruck - Clearly you're the one tooting your own horn,"in MY community... MY family... WE will continue to pay it forward". He's not bragging about buying $20 worth of coffee, he's telling the story of how his whole "pay it forward day" got started. Stop being self righteous by saying you do it everyday. Maybe this ONE day you, your family and your community could do it a little more.

  • @splashtruck This interview was about 25 minutes long.. It was shortened to 8 minutes. He clearly said that he shared it with "his" friends.. as a day for that he was encouraging his friends to do a kind act.. then it just went viral. He is not tooting his own horn. The author of the book and the non-profit foundation contacted him saying they totally support what he is doing.. infact.. they may be working together in the future. He was encouraging people or reminding them to just be kind.

  • @splashtruck Settle down. This guy is doing a great thing. Pay it Forward is dependent on these types of grass roots movements. Now... either step up - or step off!

  • What a great idea! I do it every day, and it makes feel good about myself AND it leaves a lot of other people happy. Great way to bring it into people's awareness - would be nice if we had a monthly pay-it-forward day that is nationally broadcasted, I bet the world would become a much happier place.

  • In honor of today, I'm giving away thousands of web tools, software, graphics systems, design stuff, video tools, and more at u2project[dot]com/free

  • God Bless You and Everyone!

  • I Love Pay It Forward.. I try do do this at least once a day... God Bless Everyone.. We can all make a change in someones life... Merry Christmas
