People who claim sex crime rates are lower in Japan don't realize that national crime rates are generally more indicative of how many crimes are reported rather than how many are actually committed.
I love Japan. But don't even try to play down the reality of sexual crimes in Japan. Next time, do your own "reserch".

There are cultural differences between Japan and the West. Social norms are different. I don't feel like further dignifying your philistine rhetorical questions with more answers. Doesn't the American media think that if they mention the game on a national level that it would actually draw more attention than was wanted to an obscure game that would have gone out of print anyway? This attention would just lead to people finding ways to play the game online anyway, including some children probably.
