I used to see Jerry Butler in good ole S. C. during the 60s and 70s and loved this song. Lorraine sings it just as well. I like the higher pitched female voice.
@MrRickywallace I used to go to high school in Myrtle Beach in '60's...and we used to see Jerry Butler at the old Beach Club, which is no longer there. Great times and this song could be a "grinder" or shagger.
Mr soulhawk I just love this song. As a matter a fact I wrote the answer to this song Thank you for posting this fabulous song I'm retired from the music world Use to be with the motown family keep the great music posted and coming

All 3 are great.

Love the cut-out hole in the record. Sometimes you could get records in cut-out bins for .10. Ah...memories!

Before I heard this version, I only knew Jerry Butlers' version, which I had on a 45 back in the 60's....and loved it !!
This version by Lorraine is very special, romantically sung, and with that lovely female accompaniment in back - Stellar !
Kiki Dee's version is also great, but I think she modelled her rendering of the song on this version.
I just dig Lorraine's wistful vocal phrasing at 0:45 so, so romantic.
"Oooo, I really dig you, Ba-by"
"Ooh, yes I do....."
Thanks.
