  • awesome pure awesome........tune.

  • Wow!! the only version of this i knew was the reggae version by alton ellis.

    thanks for the post!

  • Listened to all three versions, Kiki Dee's, Lorraine Ellisons & Jerry Butlers.

    All 3 are great.

  • ALWAYS A SWEET ONE TO TUNE IN TO!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG. CAME OUT DURING MY JR AND SR HIGH SCHOOL DAYS!

  • I used to see Jerry Butler in good ole S. C. during the 60s and 70s and loved this song. Lorraine sings it just as well. I like the higher pitched female voice.

  • @MrRickywallace I used to go to high school in Myrtle Beach in '60's...and we used to see Jerry Butler at the old Beach Club, which is no longer there. Great times and this song could be a "grinder" or shagger.

  • Mr soulhawk I just love this song. As a matter a fact I wrote the answer to this song Thank you for posting this fabulous song I'm retired from the music world Use to be with the motown family keep the great music posted and coming

  • jerry butler version is good but, nothing is better than the original.

  • Love the cut-out hole in the record. Sometimes you could get records in cut-out bins for .10. Ah...memories!

  • Just as great as Jerry Butler!

  • Excellent early Philly. Love it!

  • Beautiful song! Thank you so much for uploading this.

  • only new kiki s version...i like both...kiki was so under rated...made some superb 60s songs...lorraine was also overlooked but was a true soul girl..love this song thanks

Before I heard this version, I only knew Jerry Butlers' version, which I had on a 45 back in the 60's....and loved it !!

This version by Lorraine is very special, romantically sung, and with that lovely female accompaniment in back - Stellar !

Kiki Dee's version is also great, but I think she modelled her rendering of the song on this version.

I just dig Lorraine's wistful vocal phrasing at 0:45 so, so romantic.

"Oooo, I really dig you, Ba-by"

    "Ooh, yes I do....."

    Thanks.

  • Excellant!!... Kiki Dee's version is also great!!...xx

  • Great soul

  • Wow, and in stereo too - thanks so much for posting :-)
