It's ironic. People say the princess is destined to pilot blue lion and all that stuff, but every chance they get the team is trying to replace her with a more suitable pilot. this is proof that Sven had to have been dead. The alternative is that they didn't want him to come back which is pretty messed up. Personally, I think the princess did a great job as pilot for blue, but had Shirogane survived and been captured, I think the team, including the princess, would have eagerly took him back

Both Bocar and Lotor were voiced by the same person. Also, the name "Bocar" also happens to be an anagram for cobra. It seem appropriate seeing as how he share an affinity for them and is himself a lecherous snake in the grass, much like Lotor.
