  • dude if your gonna kill a animal at least eat it

  • Very good video. You make the process very easy to understand. Maritimes of Canada, Right?

  • Very nice! I'll have to try that.

  • it seems a litle well how can we put it...FLAT!

  • Where is your accent from?

  • @TheEskimosPantry That's a Canadian accent.

  • Just made one :D Could u use this for rabbits?

  • Thanks for the tips

  • Super nice! !!

  • this took me all day,my back hurts...

  • PANCAKE MOUSE!!!!

  • awesome! i am definitly going to use this tomorrow

  • Life saver

  • Not very good trap because squirell i think thats spelled wrong but it wouldnt be good food because the meat would be wrecked and its guts would spill all over the meat when the rock crushes it

  • @ryanreardon16 moron

  • Here is one i use that i made up.

    Dig a 1 foot hole

find a heavy rock to cover it

    find a long strong stick

get some rope or something and tie it to it

    add peanut butter

wait for the squirrel to get into the hole

    PULL!

  • THX MAN NO MORE Squirrel EATING MY GRAPE.............

  • hi i cant really see what you notched on the "4" where it crosses. how does that work?

  • I hammered 5 ground squirels in about 1 hr. Bastards have been plowing thru my tomatoes, not anymore. Dab of peanut butter is the trick. Going to upgrade to squirrel(s).

Took a bit to get the "trigger" to catch. but once you get the cuts/angles...good fun. Thanks for the vid.

  • fig fours are illigal in the us

  • don"t listen to these retards this vid was very informative!

  • A country boy can survive

  • I thought this video was going to suck, but it turned out to be one of the most informative and easy to follow Ive seen yet. Thanks for posting.

  • this is a great way to make a deadfall, but using a similar trigger to a basket quail trap is easier.

  • how do u do the last notch?~.... i cant figure out how to do the last one..~ T.T

  • ive killed over 50 things cause of u... thx man!!

  • @11adventuretime11 if your such a big fan of killing things, try killing yourself. you'll be cleaning up the gene pool.

  • @FoogieX10 jeese dude y r u watching these vids if u dont intend to trap anything i do it for pest control gtfo

  • @11adventuretime11 because im interesting in wilderness survival. seems you just kill things for the sake of killing things... fuck off faggot

  • very good video

  • hot damn

  • peace.

  • ten times -it might give a little game! Goood instrukctions mate !

  • wy not just show the last notch when it wasn't set?

  • waaaaaaa poor mouse but nice

  • Great vid, although you make it look too easy. I've been practicing using your technique and I haven't gotten it quite right yet. But thanks for posting!

  • Great video. Tip for people doing this for the first time, make sure your rock or piece of wood that is going to crush the animal, is at least 5 times heavier than what you are hunting.

  • Great vid...you can cook the mouse and squirrel like a hot dog on a stick too...if you had to.

  • nice 4 trap

    thanx

  • love the vid very well made. flattened that little dude

  • wooo im from ns!

i find it hard to believe that little bit of weight kills a squirel...

but ill believe you if you say so...

  • thx for the upload

  • flattened...

  • are u canadian

  • the 32 people who disliked this video are peta members and animal rights activist. GREAT demonstration. northernpike.

  • Awesome, awesome demonstration.

  • Great video man! I love how canadian you sound. Thanks for the post stay Eazy!

    ... "Shklor"

  • hello,so far this is the best video, but the most last knotch on the standing stick can u email me how u did it,cause i dont really get it...email jgoretskiy@yahoo.com thank you.......

  • I love this trap, so simple, and you can make it as big or as small as you want. I look forward to the day I get something with it :)

  • @MaynkorX14 You are right. I once used this same trap but bigger to kill and elephant in Africa.

  • @gregryf I want pix! ;)

  • @gregryf You must have use one BIG ASS rock...

  • hello, i just have a question.the very last knot how do u cut it,left,up,right or just left to the stick and then kinda just fading less?and imagine it this way ur in the wild and what bait would u put?thank you.(this is the best trapping video on youtube)

  • but if u kill a squirrel won't it be squished meat?

  • @942doc1 Think of it as tenderised :-p

  • A .22lr will work for pest control also, I had a racoon problem and i dont think a deadfall will kill a raacoon.

  • Wow thanks for the bid going rabbit trapping see ya later

  • @LICKETYSPLITALNG put some horse hair around the catch area, taht will set them right off

  • hey northern pike..i made a figure four trap for rabbits and its gone off about 1nce a day since i set it but with out anything in it....at first i was usin a big log but then i thought it could be too narrow and was missing so now im using an old table i found. It's about 3 ft wide and is definetlly heavy enough to trap a rabbit and i set the nothces just hanging on by a hair so the triggers not to sensitve iether. i also no the rabbits are setting it off cause i find fur wat am i doing wrong?

  • that mouse was very flat!

  • Comment removed

  • i love your accent..Where r u from. & good vid i got a bird and squirel

  • best video for making traps for squirels on youtube!! thank you so much! all the rest are confusing but this one is clear and actually shows the steps!!

  • first video that shows vivid step by step thanks

  • great video, thanks for sharing!

  • @Nickyboy590, i suspect, just do it outside a rabbit hole with a few pieces of carrot and make sure that there are sticks on both sides so that even if it doesnt want it it has to walk in, and that means there is only 1 way in and 1 way out. Thanks mate, Im aussie, but im trying to learn a few tricks so i can go hunting. this will help.

  • i subscribed and i put a link on my page with this video i hope it gets 1 million hits because people will need this when the dollar collapses

  • can it work for rabits

  • great video enjoyed watching took notes and will experiment going to join the marines love survival i know a lot but i learn mour everyday

  • Great video, I haven't made a figure 4 trap since the 70s....it would be interesting to set up a game camera and watch to see how long it takes for the rodent to trigger it...thanks! ps, warm wishes from Alaska...

  • @lumberjak5010 That's a great idea. I hope you post the video if you do.

  • Great video! Excellent detailed explanation. Also, the field testing was great.

  • Nice , next doors fuckin cats getting it!!

  • @bishlives lol

  • @bishlives where

  • @bishlives I hope that's a joke.

  • @sgtschmitty8013 Fuck off cat lover you inconsiderate lazy prick

  • @bishlives Your just mad that people think the cat is cute and not you...

  • @bishlives Lmao did you get them fucking cats??

  • Nice video. This trap is especially useful for food when people get lost in forests and stuff. The other comment from cianw10 is correct. Instead of killing the squirrel, its better to trap them live and release them out at least 10 miles away in a non residential area. They cannot find their way back from that far away.

  • poor squirrel and mouse :(

  • good this will keep those bastards outta my garbage

  • im all for hunting, but red squirels are getting very rare, you should have tryed to get it with a box trap and released it somewhere far away.

  • Solid work and excellent demonstration. How heavy would you say that rock is...15-20 pounds?

  • who wants mouse pancakes

  • Make more videos,these rock!

  • ha, Great video, this helps me alot

  • There's one problem. I wouldn't want to accidentally kill my cat, birds or other animals that are not pests.

  • HAAAA FLAT RAT !!!!

  • If i ever become stranded in the lonley woods, I hope I can remember this amazing, more enttertaining then watchin ant eggs hatch video!!!

  • cool

  • dude , dont kill anything you dont have a use for or wont eat.. other then that im currently trying your snare

  • nice vid

  • awsome vid. i love the checking the trap section.

  • Great video especially with actually showing the catches!

  • Got both of my neighbors cats in my backyard with this!!! Yay!!

    Just kidding. Cool vid though.

If i did'nt live in a city where there is really nothing to trap I would love to try it.

  • @wildman1098 You're gonna need a heavy basket.

  • Sir i would love to meet you in person so you can educate me more. I am new to trapping. Learning for few diffrent reasons got these rabbits that eat my garden and learning for survival situations. Thank you for this video

  • whats a good bait besides peanut butter?

  • @blablaman00 stick a walnut to it some how.

  • well u cant argue with tht .....yep definitley works jus so happens theres a squirrel rekon up my shed not 4 long though

  • nice

  • omg this is the best wid on a figre four and finally some one actually shows it use for catching something

  • i cant get the sticks 2 stay in place while im laying the rock on top and the knocks wont stay together.

  • that was a very good video good job i think ill ty it out

  • I squirrel dug a hole in my house, then rain got in.

  • OMG THAT WAS SO COOL! :)

  • Please don't kill innocent animals.

  • @jocelynjoyful STFU moralfag

  • Where did ya get the multi-tool? mine keeps breaking...

  • In my experience, I tend to leave as much bark on the stick as possible because wild animals tend to avoid things that don’t look natural. As well as I like to smoke all the sticks before I set the trap so that my sent is down to a minimal. How ever animals that live around humans are used to the small of humans and other odd looking things, other wise if you are out in the wild I suggest leaving bark on and smoking the sticks. PS. you did a great job explaining how to make a figure 4.

  • this is the best vedio i ever saw on how to make a figure four deadfall trap thank you so much northernpike56

  • Its good to see a trap video. Seeing the trap succeed is just a bonus.

  • Poor mr squirrel, yet I do know how they can tear up things, We had to squirrel proof our garage because we have a ton of them around the place. How do they taste? as far as needing to eat them in a survival situation?

  • I used this trap before and i liked it but my friend has a mouse IN his house and he doesn't want to kill it or have a dangers trap beacause he has a cat. I was wonderin if you could make a vid on how to trap a mouse and still keep it alive (with out anything that can harm his cat)?

  • can this catch birds???

  • can you use other baits??

  • i coulf hear a quad in the background

  • did you use string when you put on the bodom triger

  • i like the idea of the trap cant say i agree with killing red squirrels with it though.

  • I love this video, you explained everything really well. 1st rate man!

  • Nice Trap!

you should have a mouse or sanke within the next month.

    Swimbo

  • thanks so much man my little cousin was oneday bored and wanted to make a trap i said what kind he said idk a rabbit so i bought a rabbit trap for $85.99 and he didnt know i came home with it put it in a bush with the front sticking out and put peanut butter in it.i showed him the ext day and there was an alive rabbit.he says ''i wanna get creative lets make our own.so i looked up videos and found this one.made it next day.nuthing.day after a rabbit . made me happy :) b-cuz he was full of joy.ty

  • Great video, thanks.

  • Haha! That field mouse got pancaked! Great video with practical survival skills. Keep up the good work

  • great demo, thanks

  • helped alot thank you!-

  • that mouse is a pankake

  • dude u never showed us how to get the horizontal stick onto the vertical stick in the end. the most important part.

  • @1k2m3s you cut a square notch in the side of the Vert Stick

  • hey i just wanted to say that this looks extremely useful and im about to go outside and try it thanks again and keep up the videos

  • I can't understand why the lower part of the 4 doesn't fall. at the left it's fixed with the part that supports the rock or whatever you put there, but that can't hold it. and the vertical part that supports also the thing doens't support the lower part. HOW can it stand there without falling ? (3:27)

  • great informative video!!

  • dude, u killed it......

  • that mouse was pancaked lol

  • Cool, can you reuse the sticks?

  • this will be very helpfull if i ever get lost

    thanks

  • hey pikey, aren't you gonna eat that squirrel?

  • Great rat trap.

  • awsome video

  • nice ill give it a shot thanks

  • @northernpike56 Still aside from the minor difference in age (the 56 in your user name) has enabled me to add a very clean and effective means of showing the traps I used to make and that is invaluable and for that I say thank you indeed. It will help people feed themselves if it all goes to hell. I also tell people to hunt or trap 2 miles from their base camp so as to have stock if there is a hard winter. Because they haven't cleared out the game they can eat in an emergency.

  • this was really informative and i loved that you showed the results of the trap. thanks, keep up the great work!

  • You can't kill squirrels. My cats have killed 1000s of them and they keep coming.

  • sweet thanks mate u helped alot

  • @RandomConcepts it lived

  • this is the best video ive seen on the figure 4 deadfall it shows how to mke it and also how effectiveit actually is GREAT JOB!!!!!

  • And Where from Canada r u

  • I don't get how to notch thec bottom twig. Can't see it

  • you should avoid using live wood because resin or sap can glue the wood together over time and effect the sensativity of the trap, just throwin that out there

  • you should avoid using live wood because resin or sap can glue the wood together over time and effect the sensativity of the trap, just throwin that out there

  • ...it`s nice that you have the skill, but it`a stupid to kill wild animals just because you can. Like idiots shooting arrows at deer and leaving them wounded or dead, just because they got a new bow. Kill it and eat it, or kill in self defence, don`t kill just for show.

  • will this catch othe animals

  • yep...just bait it accordingly...

  • @northernpike56 what would be good bait for a rabbit?

  • thx dude been trying to figure how to make a Figure 4 Deadfall Trap for awhile :)

  • WHere ya from? Like the accent :)

  • @RichClone

he lives in Canada not sure where though

  • good video, well done

  • thats a really cool trap

  • Your a beast

  • Flattened squirrel sammich for lunch!

Great job in getting the destructive little bastard!

    5 stars for You.

  • GREAT vid. Very educational and entertaining! I never knew it was that simple to make the figure 4 deadfall trap.
