  • nice parallell part at 2:01

  • this is gunna b my new ringtone....

i run around the neighborhood with this playing....

    kids chase me....

    i run away...

    kids cry...

i say dont cry! ill give u some ice cream!

    kids say yay! really?

i say: no go by some from a hobo

    jk =D

  • @dkpiggy Ahahahaha I Should Do That I Have A Lot Of Kids In My Neighborhood. Lol

  • OH SHUT UP. Jeeze. Stop complaining.

  • move outta NYC. it's sweet music to my ears...

  • @miahprod HELL YEAH :)

  • If I'm ever in a battle to the death against someone all I need is 5 seconds of this jingle and I will eviscerate him. I'd then plunge some nail files into my ear drums.

  • why am i watching ice cream truck videos?

  • This song is the bane of my existence. I work from home and I'm subjected to this repeatedly loudly for several minutes on end three times a day every single day throughout most of the year. It's all I can do to keep from setting up landmines. And I live in a (normally) quiet subdivision, not a noisy city.

  • I luv Mr. Softee milkshakes!!!

  • Mr. Softee can't be caught. He's like a ninja that taunts you with his jingle, only to not be found when you get there. Check out my video response! I wish he would sit there that long in my neighborhood.

  • WHAT'S THE MATTER YOU DON'T LIKE THAT SONG I THINK IT'S A NICE SONG

  • i bet the van that pulls up and parks at 1:50 has "free candy" on the side

  • Gucci! Buuuurr!

  • Lol i had a fat mr softee guy and when he served us ice cream he gave us a little bit. Obviously he saves all the rest himself! lol

  • Where I live here in Brooklyn, I know this as the Ice Cream Predator! This bastard passes 24 times a day every 20 minutes. No one buys his fuckin' ice cream This is a jewish neighborhood and those weirdows only eat kosher. This shit tune is blasting. I yell at him to lower the volume and being that he can't speak a word of English, He does'nt get the point to fuck off already. call 311 as a noise complaint and they say I have to contact consumer affairs because theres nothing NYPD can do.

  • Gosh, I miss that song.

  • @NicNacPTac01 What do you mean this jingle is gone? I saw that truck yesterday and that jingle was still on!

  • @sockitfunchannel2 I never said the jingle is gone, I said I miss that song. I live in california not new york anymore, we don't hear that here...I miss that song.

  • Queens New Yawk!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I miss hearing the Mr. Softee jingle now that I live in Las Vegas! I will go home during the summer just to hear the jingle again :)

  • @Apriluv7779 it used to come around my neighborhood in north las vegas but not very often during the summer only and sometimes spring. they only came around about 1-2 times a month

  • Richard Kuklinski said one of his friends who was a serial killer drove a Mr. Softee truck. He'd sell ice cream to the kids and kill their parents. Then he killed Mr. Softee,

  • So what? The ice cream truck is attracting business, alerting other drivers to children in the area, and not year round. The ice cream truck leaves after a while and parks under MY window. The squealing bus axles, the revving engines, and (I'm sure) the occasional voices of boisterous people yelling goes on all day and year round. It's a lively active busy CITY fer goodness sake. Some folks just don't get urban environments I guess. What a jaded judgmental rube.....

  • Comment removed

  • I screw around with my neighbors, playing this with the windows open and fool them into thinking that the truck is near.

  • @rentslave EPIC WIN

  • Ok I could understand that after hearing this for 5 minutes it would get old. But, it does two things; one brings in business and two alerts drivers to children running into the streets like maniacs. But someone doesn't like it so do away with it. Yeah nice parking job @ 1:50 maybe he should drive a Ice Cream truck.

  • LOL! Super annoying. But that looks like a nice area......

  • So why are they allowed to make loud noises to drum up business? What if other neighborhood businesses and organizations did this? What if UPS drove up and down the street with a megaphone baring, "What can brown do for you?" Next Realtors blaring "Let me sell your house!!!" or my favorite would be Mormon, Jehovah's witnesses, or any other door to door religion blaring "We are here to save your soul!."

  • It's a shame that honest citizens have to "do something" for these crack pushers to realize that their f***ing noise is not appreciated by everyone!!!

  • Love it

  • man an ice cream truck is outside my house right now, jingling this song. never gets old. however i only bought from an ice cream truck like ten times :| yeah it always ran away when i brought back the money LOL

  • I grew up with that song and Mr. Softee. Love it. Maybe Mr. Softee isn't urban hipster friendly...

  • i was in NYC last year brings back memorys i loved it :P

  • One the reasons why I love summer and NYC :)

  • dude i love mr.softee icecream i would always a red dipped cone or a waffle cone *sigh* good times

  • i would love to be a Mr softee ice cream man! i love this jingle! it never gets old!

  • reminds me of flatbush every time

  • Lol...

    Flashback NYC

About the prices... you list in your description-

Yes i do remember when the Banana boats [splits] were only $1 and a lot bigger.

Other than for nostalgia it is cheaper in the store.

Hadn't heard this in a long while so thanks for the posting.

  • i LUFF SOFTee'S!!!

    :D

  • this is the greatest ice cream song ever

  • Wont' lie, I was having a sugar rush listening to this video and started dancing.

  • @OlgaFlow lol.

  • Dont ever dis the Softee his iceCream is the best ihope JARED disess yo ass to

  • I used to live in Hell's Kitchen, and when I would try to grab naps between classes, this song would play from outside my window. Ahhh, brings me back!

  • es en nueva york gracias

  • Man, I used to love this song because it meant getting ice cream. The truck never really stopped around where I live back then.

Now I realize I can go to the supermarket and more for myself at any damn time I want. No need to wait for that stupid truck or it's stupid song.

  • im on my front porch right now and mr softee has been playing it around the corner for the bast 6 minz. i cant even hear myself think. i think we should all form an angry mob around the trucks lol

  • I agree. All songs that are played on ice cream trucks are indeed annoying and sound extremely horrible.

  • One of the greatest 'short' melodies of all time. In my book up there with 'Yankee Doodle', 'The Old Ballgame' etc. Seriously.

  • Wow a four letter word in your vocabulary, I hope your brain didn't overheat, I saw your spectacular video playing a song on a little skinflute, you are just so talented, I don't know what to say, Maybe you should go on "America's Got Talent" and show how much of a looser you really are.

  • I'll have you know, it's an ocarina, not a skinflute.

  • the real lyrics are :There is the guy who steals your dimes, his name is Mr Softee, there is the guy who steals your dimes, his name is Mr. Softee, an ice cream truck is just his way, to rob you of your coin, when he comes to your home town, go inside and just hide.

  • INCORRECT!!!!

  • Maybe in your mind , just because you say it is wrong, does not mean it is wrong, psycho!!!!!!!!! I read your earlier comment on the "small world song"Made you want to kill yourself, give me a break. If you are that messed up in the head, you seriously need counseling, get help Norman Bates.

  • fuck you dude!!!!

  • the reason why it gets me upset is because the song reminds me of my grandmother, she passed away 10 years ago and when I was little, we went to disney world together, and we went on the ride. It just brings back memories for me, and when the song is played, I get really emotional and i can't help but cry, sometimes I write in my journal about it.

  • I would'nt complain.

    Its a lovely song.

  • Mr Softee is a dickhead. I don't have kids but I do have to work in the mornings and I don't to want hear this shit at 10:30 at night out in front of my house.

  • Tell me about it... there's a truck playing "It's A Small World" and it gets me extremely upset, last night I had a crying spell cause of it, and the song almost made want me to kill myself.

  • thats not a real softee truck its a competition

  • Did anyone else notice the SWEET parallel parking job that big van did @ 1:50... Being from NY myself I know what that guy went through but man he did a great job!

BTW... When ever my 2 year old son hears this jingle he goes nuts and becomes super affectionate for some reason.... I play it for him when Mommy leaves and he starts crying and it does the trick for over 3 minutes! You should see him with the real thing!

    So THANKS!

  • ??? lol, the van.

  • @UNOWHO29 notice he had space to walk behind the van too.

im from queens, this is playing outside almost perfectly in rhythm with the video and it's inspired me to take it up on piano now.

  • @UNOWHO29 yea that was a nice parking job

  • @UNOWHO29 Looks like the camera is zoomed...makes things appear closer than they really are. That was a tight spot, but its likely to have been bigger than it seemed.

  • i know the lyrics my friend's classmate made it up it goes along with the tune

:Give me a dollar ill rip u off my name is mr softee

give me a dollar ill rip u off my name is mr softee

  • dats nyc ghetto ice cream

  • its illegal to play the song when the truck isn't moving. damn its annoying

  • no its not, at least not where i live

  • why can't i get Mr. Softee anymore! :(

  • My dogs hate this Mr. Softee song. They go crazy barking when they hear this shit, haha.

  • i am the ice cream man

running over fat kids in my van

when i play my bell all the fat kids run like hell.

  • @exziler56 Back in the day, we didn't have fat kids ( ok one or two), at least not like today, but then again that was in the 70's.

  • never gets old. love the single vanilla cone with rainbow sprinkles. i can tell he's in new york.

  • epic fail

  • AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • haha, the song is written in E-flat Major.

  • lol I cant help but laugh every time the jingle stops and then starts back up again! its hilarious!!! just when u thought it was over.. it starts right back up again! lmao.

  • mr softee owns all ice cream trucks and only us new yorkers have it ha ha!!!

  • this wreaks of awesomeness

  • Best ice cream ever. As soon as I hear this sound, I go wild and make sure I get some.

  • Me too, good times...

  • the ice cream truck is so cute. It is like a big musical truck that moves slowly through the streets. It would be better if an friendly man worked in it, but its usually just a bunch of grouches

  • lol...he stops his music once he starts moving! i must say i live out in the country now, NOTHING comes out here...no ice cream trucks, no pizza, no chinese. so i miss the mister softee jingle. it's a sound from my childhood. but i can sympathize for those that have to hear it 24/7. much like when my neighbor had a rooster...which crowed at all hours...not just when the sun came up!

  • have one of those fu***rs in front of my appartment every night between 11 and 12 pm!

  • Another hipster strikes, I see.

  • you can go get his license number and report him to the police or to 311, as it's against the law to park and play the tune repeatedly. According to the law, they are only able to play it while they are moving, once parked, they have to stop.

  • While I was watching your video I could not help hearing all the other city noise that was more enoying than the jingle to tell you the truth.

  • They are not supposed to play the jingle when idle. Only when they are moving can they play it.

  • my ringtone

  • rock'n roll ice cream baby

  • oh shut up, you dumb hipster, are you even from new york? that is the best sound ever

  • hahahahah!!! yes it is

  • @vunzya - LOL! Tell me about it! I grew up in NYC and I love that sound! All these out of state douchbags keep trying to get Mr. Softee to shut up. They keep calling 311 to complain. I love it, it`s beautiful. It reminds me of childhood and that summer is here.

  • @JamesTKirkCobain

I agree. That song has been playing in the ice cream truck for years, why does it bother people now? Very nice song.

  • @carlinrulez666 Because they play it so loud that it sounds distorted. he lingers even if there is no one there to buy. Over and over the song plays and stays stuck in your head. It can get very annoying.

  • @joeybinky

This song reminds me of the summer of my youth. I still enjoy listening to it. People never had a problem with the song before, so why now?

  • @carlinrulez666 Well, I only have a problem with the fact that the driver BLASTS the tune so loud that it's distorted. At that sound level, it can't be enjoyed, and it becomes irritating. I also used to enjoy hearing it as a kid and it does bring back so manny memmories. Now in the future, my additional memmories are about being blasted out by the Icecream predator!

  • @carlinrulez666 Transplants. Transplants didn't have this in their suburban backwater growing up. The jingle doesn't have the same connotation as it does for us city kids.

  • @samynonthegreen

    I would have to agree.

  • @vunzya It is illegal in the city of New York to play the jingle while idling. It is also illegal for a vehicle to idle for more than 15 minutes at a time. Calling 311 will put your compliant through to the EPA, which will investigate the complaint. Be sure to have the license plate number, vendor name, and time of day they usually appear. Also be sure to leave your info and let them know that you have video evidence.

  • Carroll Street Crown Heights Brooklyn Baby

Never forget the Mr Softee. EVER!!!

  • Wow, that's my cousin's address lol

  • u kno its illegal to play that jingle sht more than once in one area

  • 1:30 seconds

  • lmao yo u in the bronx?!! haha East Moshulu Pkway- Bedford park- Kingsbridge my whole life hearing that baby!! lolol

  • dude i can take that all fuckin day Mr. Softee rocks

  • This is the best jingle in the world...lol

    I love it :-)

  • Here are the lyrics if you want to sing along. The creamiest, dreamiest soft ice cream, You get from Mister Softee. For a refreshing delight supreme, Look for Mister Softee. My milkshakes and my sundaes and my cones are such a treat, Listen for my store on wheels, ding-a-ling down the street. The creamiest, dreamiest soft ice cream, You get from Mister Softee. For a refreshing delight supreme, Look for Mister Softee. S-O-F-T Double 'E', Mister Softee."
  • I love that song! :D

  • i remember the ice cream truck passin by NYC (washington heights) during the blackout of 2003. pfft... so much business it made.

  • Is this in New York City?

  • yea it is

  • Yeah, New York City, Northern Jersey, and Long Island, you hear the Mister Softee jingle.

  • I grew up in Detroit and we had Mr Softee. I remember Paul G running out in front of the truck one time before it stopped and I saw him fly about 4 feet! Wow... long time since I heard this tune.... 1969? Over 40 yrs now.

  • LOL! XD.

  • one comes through mine at 12 at night and gets loads of business

  • ok here it worse it;s not as loud but 10 times more anoying the song is does your ears hang low in very bad quality one parked at my park for 1 hour omg i wanted to blow it up

  • In Manhattan at least they 're not allowed to play that crap when they 're stationary. They can play it while the truck is moving, once they stop jingle off

  • You are right, it was a police order with the noise limit in NYC that a ice cream truck that is COMMERCIALY REGISTERED is not supposed to play any music while stationary.

  • its probably, not Manhattan then if its stationary?

  • there ought to be a kill switch for when it stops.

We have 5 that go through my neighborhood, rain, shine, holidays, one plays beetoven, some talk, AM til ten PM

  • not much to do?

  • Mr. Softee is truck is talking over!!!

    Its always at my house!!

It wakes me up when im sleeping!!!

I can fuking hear it in my dreams!!!!

  • The song....I hear it...in my nightmares. A broken down Mr softee in Hell and all he can do is play the Jingle.... AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

  • NEW YORK CITY! WATS UP!

  • I HATE THIS FUCKIN SONG!

  • LOL now you can download it off of cydia for your iphone.. :P

  • I'm a ice cream man from the uk, we dont play our chimes all the time over here we just give them a quick blast when we get to the stop and knock them off

  • mr softee rocks yum wish i had some now

  • i gonna go to that guys house, slap him and say its not funny!!!!!

  • AAAHH! I honestly can't take it anymore! Yeah... the good old Mr. Softee truck passes by our house every day, and pauses next to our house, because it knows we're there... it's evil... :P

Good old Mr. Softee. Annoying Mr. Softee.

  • imagine being that ice cream truck driver, EVERY DAY! I couldn't take it!

  • You see! this is the reason snipers were invented.. to kill the bastard you plays shit music and get away with it :)

  • omg i could only handle 2:34 after that i got so pissed off so i stopped i would give u bad comment but u must here that guy all summer so u have enough on ur hands lol

  • Im gonna make the shred sweep arpeggio guitar version of this song... it shall be amazing. Is mister softee exclusive to NY because im seeing some comments that suggest so? BTW im from NY i just dont know if theres a mister softee outside NY though.

  • This is probably my ideal job! I can seriously listen to this jingle all day!!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAH! WHOOO! HA... AHEM..

  • I know when im on the truck with my dad selling icecream its sooooooooooooo annoying

  • I haven't hung out in a neighborhood in NYC in too long, and I'm smiling EAR TO EAR listening to the Mr Softee song. That sound is an NY icon, and if Mr Softee ever stops playing it or goes out of biz, the city should set up speakers on corners, and play the song in random 20 min intervals 2-3 times a day. How has no rapper sampled this???

  • Noise pollution. I abhor any vehicle blaring music and there should laws banning it. Then someone stops the truck to make a purchase and the music keeps repeating until your head explodes. Eff off Mister Softee!. Can you image if every commercial vehicle started playing commercials? This is actually a good example of the famous Pavlo's Dog" experiment which proved a conditioned response. Daddy! Daddy! I want ice cream!

  • Is this is in NYC, because I know he;s there?

  • i drive one of these trucks have to agree with you that it is the most annoying jingle ever, try listening it to 9hours. yeah, exactly.

  • Would ya turn off that fruitcake song, please!!

  • Whenever one of those trucks comes down my area, I turn up my sound system real loud playing some death metal!

  • I say let him play the jingle.

  • Well, imagine being the guy that works in the truck! Does he have nightmares about the jingle? You could probably get PTSD from that.

  • he gets away with that shit in new york...?

in my city the kids would've already torn the speakers off...o.O;...

  • At least our trucks nearby are nice enough to turn down the volume when they stop, then turn it back up when they start moving again

  • thats fN pimp, now stfu and go get me a mixed cone...hahahahahahah..lol... thats sweet music right there, you gotta be some grouchy old bastard not to love dat chit... total hater who dropped his cone like eddie murphy and couldnt get back to moms for more cash.

  • omg i been in a ice cream truck for a whole day i went home and the jingle was still in my head!! but now im iight wit it...im just nevr gonna 4get it lol!

  • You really are too jaded. Get over it. This is the sound of summer if NYC. Play your own video around mid-January and see if it doesn't give you warm feelings and make you yearn for summer again.

  • i love this songg <33

    lol

  • Love Mr Softee

Haven't heard this since I left NYC

It would be my ringtone if I could find it

  • i put it in favourites!

  • the best ice cream

  • hey all, i have another version of the ice cream truck song, will you all please watch it

  • In one word... NO!

  • lol

  • well better 5stories up then at a park right beside u and ares is does ur ears hang low no lyrics

  • I LOVE NEW YORK!!!!!!!!!!

  • Instead of taping it, then coming here to bitch to the world about it, why not go down and ask him to move?

  • IS MR. SOFTEE is a front for drug sales.

  • Come on when its summer time, and you hear Mr. Softee its like a flashback to when you were a kid and you heard that truck and the song.

  • not if you hear it everyday...a

  • i mean it comes down my street 3 times a week and i dont mind, i mean i dont have those sounds of the city though

  • I know what you mean!

As annoying as this sound might be for some people (especially, New Yorkers who also have to here sirens, loud people and loud music), it may be brief moment of peace and enjoyment for city kids.

I live now in a quiet suburban neighborhood. I rarely ever here or see an ice cream truck! However, just last week I heard for the first time "Mr Softee" and I immediately was drawn to look out my window.

It did sound nice to hear :-)

  • Damn the retard truck the music is so annoying for 10 minutes dang the driver must have not graduated music school

  • Someone's mom didn't give them money for the Mr. Softee truck...

  • LOL! GOOD ONE!!!

  • I got tired of it inn like 10 seconds

  • Damn Mr Softee that shit gets annoying, only the kiddies love that...

  • I AGREE!
