AMD Orochi-FX Needs the Yen Gateway Dramurai to teleport in, too upgrade FX Bulldozer Logo with some GPU Firmware! Either that or Giant Constructikon Transformer?
I personally just assembled my first computer from scratch and I can tell you, although its only a 4 core processor, the AMD FX 4100 is pretty damn sexy at 3.6 Ghz. I don't need liquid nitrogen though o.o...
Why can I play up to date games at full specs, edit video, render animations, and run an abundance of programs at the same time with no issues with my 3.2ghz AMD Phenom II X555 Black Edition dual core, 8gb of ram, ASUS motherboard and GTX 460? Because its not all in the processor guys. I think some people have just experienced AMD processors working with outdated or cheap hardware, making a low performance machine. I think Intel is overrated compared to the price and efficiency of AMD.
I Don't understand why AMD just didn't skip the 32nm process and go streight to 22nm! Any way we've only seen the first generation of there new chip so we should see some massive improvents over the next couple of years...
Search TOP 8 CPU in Yahoo. Look at what techradarDOTcom says about CPU's.
...Meanwhile, hypothetical 10- or even 12-core Phenom IIs would probably fit inside Bulldozer's two billion transistor count and not only blow it away, but very possibly give Intel a run for its money. even Intel's mighty Gulftown six-core chips only swallow up 1.17 billion transistors.
Exactly how AMD ended up with a two-billion transistor chip with at best eight cores and at worst just four, we may never know for sure.
Bulldozer is a big problem for AMD. Quite literally, the new FX processors sired by Bulldozer are very large. Clocking in somewhere between 1.2 and 2 billion transistors, they are twice as complex as any previous AMD desktop CPU.
Frankly, Bulldozer FX doesn't even compare all that well with some of AMD's own chips packing fewer than a billion transistors.
@Youcansuckme69 Agreed. This is all about a simple, stupid who-beats-the-processor-clock little play; But when it comes to performance per clock, which is the real deal, when gaming, AMD is always the last one and that is not even newsflash. So when AMD comes to the first place on something, people get all amazed and soon this message board gets all flooded by AMD-fanboys.
Intel rapes AMD. Nvidia rapes AMD. They might aswel just give up trying. Oh shit... my mistake, they arent bothering to try anymore because they know they will get owned. TIME... and TIIIIIIME... again.
Nasty ass Bulldozer... LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL! such a fucking joke of a CPU! XD
@YonOtto without competition it would become a monopoly and intel or amd wouldnt push to come out with better products and could increase prices to whatever they want....competition is good, and thats why you should appreciate both amd and intel instead of being a whiny fanboy....
@YonOtto AMD GPU are not really getting raped. AMD's GPU is much better even if you only consider Eyefinity. But AMD has been on top for a while now. Of course it may differ depending on use. I can agree Intel smokes AMD in everything. The AMD Opteron is no match for the Intel Xeon E7 Family. But it would be nice if AMD would switch to the LGA like they did for Opteron CPU's.

@Ben182010 go watch the nvidia gpu conference, they said by 2019 there are going to be gpus pushing out teraflops of information, rendering graphics to cgi level quality, which in todays gpus takes over 1 hour to render 1 frame, but in 2019 will allow it to be playable......which means in 20 years that will be doubled or tripled, so yes graphics will look "life like" in the not to far future :) cants wait.....hopefully we dont nuke ourselves before that and have to start over...
@Ben182010 i wouldnt want a holographic monitor, you would be able to see behind it, what if i fly lands on the back of it when your playing a shooter and you dont know what it is, i would still want a solid monitor, but thinner would be better,

In my opinion, performance is good, when you need it. That's all. If you need CPU for PC, that will use for surfing net, you don't need i7-990x, the Phenom II X2 is enough. Otherwise, if you need in high performance for activities, that REQUIRES high performance, you can buy an Intel top CPU(I don't say, that AMD haven't high perf. CPU's, but the fastest CPU's is Intel).
You don't need 8,4 GHZ on a CPU because you can watch porn just with a pentium III. i will never understand why some guys are disperate for high frequency. Nobody use on everyday use nitrogen cooling. just a bunch of show offs
@alexmoto1984 True, one of my friends builds gaming pc's just for the challenge. Most performance for a set of money etc. He doesn't even like to play games really. But if it's his hobby, why not?
@Andee148 yeah there is a limit.. but u need a stable clock to certain temps and voltages must be maintained for the cpu to be stable or else it'll just crash
Intel is better ONLY if you can aford to pay for it.. that means that intel is only better for about 2% of the market. The older generation of Intel chips, the chips that most people can afford are not as good as the new AMD chips of the same price . Its the same crap as with NVIDIA... people pay for a name because the nvidia flagship $800 gpu can squeeze out 10-15 fps more than a $200 amd card. I buy AMD cause they work... other people buy Nvidia and Intel because there told to.
@Falenir don't talk garbage about intel, they are unchallenged at the high-end market. please name ONE amd cpu that will do 3d rendering tasks better than my i7 2600k in the same price tag. actually i don't think there is any, regardless of price tag. and you're better off with sandy bridge at about any price above the 200 dollar tag.
and you are highly exaggerating, name me an 800$ nvidia card which is only slightly better than a 200$ amd one. once again, you can't.
@xIcarus227 sounds like a fan boy who needs to justify his purchase. Other than statistical benchmark tests, (numbers mean nothing to current software) In the real world, playing games, booting into windows and generally just using my computer. There is only a marginal difference between an intel and my AMD. I can play EVERYTHING maxed at 1920x1080 at 50+ fps and windows boots in under 30 seconds... it didn't cost me the moon to do it either. I'm happier and my wallet is fuller.
@Falenir -.-... I didn't mention anything about benchmarks, I said 3d renders. I am a novice in 3d art and until you get a final render that you like you need to go through tens of test renders and that's when you need the cpu's computing power in its purest form. I find it amusing that people like you think that 3d renders don't have any real life applications. when you're creating a 30-second animation you have at least 900 frames. and 1 frame can be done in 5 minutes. it matters alot
@xIcarus227 ok... ultimately, everyone knows that the top intel chips are the best... but AMD did have a valid standing as well with quality products. But what i disagree with is this... intel, nvidia, apple... they are all good brands... but like sony they over charge just because there fashionable. Everyone knows that the only reason intel is so big is because of the clever blue man group commercials for the pentium line.
@Falenir I totally agree with you in the case of apple, but I don't agree about nvidia and I definitely don't agree about intel. apple products are far too overpriced. amd does have quality products, I never contested that because they really have. and they really used to be the smarter choice for the wallet, but now with the bulldozer fail I don't see them in a bright future. let's hope they can fix that mistake.
I like both AMD and Intel... but to tell u the truth.. u can't compare something like the new gens i5 2500k/i72600k to the 8150 and say the 8150 cause it's cheap.. the rendering performance may be better by the amd chip because of the cores, but the gaming performance is not matched even with a i5 2500k.. It all comes down to what u are doing...
@kknight96 I agree with what you are saying, but a high end AMD system with 6850 - 6990 gpu will run any of the current games at optional frame rates so it's pretty stupid to go spending the extra money on all this faster technology if it's only for gaming performance.
@MightyMaxist Correct indeed, but i like optimizing a systems hardware for the best performance u get out of what programs u are running. I prefer the i5 or i7 for gaming, whilst if i barely game and do a lot of video editing, photoshopping and utilize programs which actually run on more than 4 cpu cores then sure a AMD will serve me well.
Then when choosing what GFX card, i like going for a budget and the performance it gives as a all rounder, but also look towards what gameiplay
@kknight96 All I'm saying is that there isn't a game out there that my AMD system won't run, plus the 6 core processor is good for the editing. So why spend the extra money for the sake of a few frames per second?
@MightyMaxist I didn't ever doubt your system.. but there are more "specific" uses of certain cpu's and what their designs bring. All i care is stop arguing about which is better and just "BUY THE ONE WHICH IS MOST COST EFFECTIVE FOR WHAT YOU DO MOST!" <- to all the people out there!
All i care about on the 2 new cpu's is that the new bulldozer series wasn't what i expected in the gamers point of view.. now int he enthusiast point of view, an easily obtainable 4.5-5ghz clock.
@kknight96 With moderate cooling is very amazing for it to run stable for that long but with a few adjustments on the CPU's voltage. Cpu's are not of my worries on building a PC, but more of the motherboard, graphics card, psu and case. Rest are quite standard stuff!
@kknight96 but your argument was that the gaming performance isn't even matched with an i5 2500k and this isn't true because I sure as hell can't tell the difference between them. you're not really explaining what you mean, how are they not what you expected? I don't personally have a bulldozer processor but I do have Phenom X6 and a 1366 socket Core i7 and between them I can't tell the difference when it comes to gaming.
@MightyMaxist What i mean by expected is by the enthusiast, the performance they bring because people were waiting for them for awhile, whilst sandy bridge came out and blew many people away. But anyways, i don't want to keep arguing, so i found this! bit . ly/pR74wO
by the looks of it, AMD for their price, the CPU's perform well in the low-mid ranges, whilst the high-extreme are more dominant of the intel cpu's.
@kknight96 Intel i5 and/or i7 may be built better, but as long as AMD FX 8150 can do what I want it to do perfectly, which is does, I'm happy for 100$.
@shamkuzi I'm not talking about overclocking and all that, I've never overclocked a CPU, I never had a need to. It performs just as I want it to and as long as it does I'll be happy.
@Falenir You sir, are an idiot. My i5-2500k has equal if not better performance than your Shitdozer 8150, with half the cores, at a slightly cheaper price.
@Falenir You are a complete idiot hahahaha intel has mostly always been beating amd, even nvidia has been beating ATI cards.. not to mention ATIs crappy drivers.. lmao man stop generalising and get your facts right.
@Falenir corect, between intel and amd are not so big difference, only the price it's different, BUT! between nvidia and ati are veeery big difference! you don't believe me?try an 3d surround and eyenfinity from ati, both with 3 displays and we will talk then!
as you know, ati came with 3d technology, but they are so suck! why? cuz ati don't have v-sync in 3d, so are alot of shits, alot of frame drops, alot of static there, they pure suck! at 1display vs 1 display are ~same but I prefer nvidia
@Falenir ati 3d are based on cards, why nvidia are so special?because that tech are based on driver not on cards, if there are some problem, with next driver update it's gone, h'about ati?i don't think so...i'm not an fanboy nvidia,i just want something that are told to "work" and it works! ati sell the shit and they said it work, surprise! it didn't work like they say!and that's the bullshit of ati, it have grate cards, they work like hell in 1 display, but not in eyenfinity, or not like nvidia's
@hotnndproud Not true. They are practically the same architecture, just that the X6 has two more cores. You will get the same performance from an X4 and X6 at the same clock rate. Plus an X6 is better for general use anyways, so it makes more sense to get a six core, especially considering both of them get crushed by Intel anyway.
@hotnndproud yea. look up the overclockersclub review of the 1090t or any review of the 1090t for that matter. You will see that in nearly every gaming benchmark, the 1090t, stock clocked, beats or matches the 965. In my opinion it makes no sense to not get an x6 if one thinks that it wont perform in games
they are just like me. i overclock so hard hope to booth on windows to run cpu z and hope it is still stable til it submits its validation to claim the record. btw anybody knows where can i see videos of Andre Yang reached 8585.05 MHz using amd. he is the new record holder recently
I am from the future and this is nothing!... 5 Years before the extra terrestrial attacks and I was forced into hiding I was running a low end 5 terahertz processor on my HP holographic PC...
@YairGeva7 my 955 black edition scores higher in benchmarks when overclocked to 4.2ghz on air than a core i5 with a 200mhz overclock. so an fx would munch it, definately an i7 ex at that speed.
What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
@3674087574175895618 the AMD FX-8150 Eight-Core processor not only can be overclocked to a higher GHz than the 2500k, overclocked it is benchmarked higher than a 2500k overclocked
awesome that this CPU continues the awesome black edition legacy with completely new infrastructure, way 2 go AMD! For all you who look at gaming benchmarks and say intel shits on AMD, interestingly games run more off the GPU than the CPU at higher settings, when it all comes down to it, CPU's have a marginal effect on game performance and what will make a CPU perform better is its overclock ability, in terms of OC, Intel has been getting better, b

It all comes down to what u are doing...
kknight96 1 month ago 14
@kknight96 I agree with what you are saying, but a high end AMD system with 6850 - 6990 gpu will run any of the current games at optional frame rates so it's pretty stupid to go spending the extra money on all this faster technology if it's only for gaming performance.
MightyMaxist 1 month ago
@MightyMaxist I mean optimal not optional haha!
MightyMaxist 1 month ago
@MightyMaxist Correct indeed, but i like optimizing a systems hardware for the best performance u get out of what programs u are running. I prefer the i5 or i7 for gaming, whilst if i barely game and do a lot of video editing, photoshopping and utilize programs which actually run on more than 4 cpu cores then sure a AMD will serve me well.
Then when choosing what GFX card, i like going for a budget and the performance it gives as a all rounder, but also look towards what gameiplay
kknight96 1 month ago
@kknight96 Not just that, but also the needs for Cuda and how much VRAM i need along with what graphical things i will need to process the most.
kknight96 1 month ago
@kknight96 All I'm saying is that there isn't a game out there that my AMD system won't run, plus the 6 core processor is good for the editing. So why spend the extra money for the sake of a few frames per second?
MightyMaxist 1 month ago
@MightyMaxist I didn't ever doubt your system.. but there are more "specific" uses of certain cpu's and what their designs bring. All i care is stop arguing about which is better and just "BUY THE ONE WHICH IS MOST COST EFFECTIVE FOR WHAT YOU DO MOST!" <- to all the people out there!
All i care about on the 2 new cpu's is that the new bulldozer series wasn't what i expected in the gamers point of view.. now int he enthusiast point of view, an easily obtainable 4.5-5ghz clock.
kknight96 1 month ago
@kknight96 With moderate cooling is very amazing for it to run stable for that long but with a few adjustments on the CPU's voltage. Cpu's are not of my worries on building a PC, but more of the motherboard, graphics card, psu and case. Rest are quite standard stuff!
kknight96 1 month ago
@kknight96 but your argument was that the gaming performance isn't even matched with an i5 2500k and this isn't true because I sure as hell can't tell the difference between them. you're not really explaining what you mean, how are they not what you expected? I don't personally have a bulldozer processor but I do have Phenom X6 and a 1366 socket Core i7 and between them I can't tell the difference when it comes to gaming.
MightyMaxist 1 month ago
@MightyMaxist What i mean by expected is by the enthusiast, the performance they bring because people were waiting for them for awhile, whilst sandy bridge came out and blew many people away. But anyways, i don't want to keep arguing, so i found this! bit . ly/pR74wO
by the looks of it, AMD for their price, the CPU's perform well in the low-mid ranges, whilst the high-extreme are more dominant of the intel cpu's.

@kknight96 hope u can access that link :)
kknight96 1 month ago
@kknight96 Intel i5 and/or i7 may be built better, but as long as AMD FX 8150 can do what I want it to do perfectly, which is does, I'm happy for 100$.

@shamkuzi I'm not talking about overclocking and all that, I've never overclocked a CPU, I never had a need to. It performs just as I want it to and as long as it does I'll be happy.

@Falenir A i5 2500k gets the same performance as a amd 8 core which is about $270 while the i5 is only $230.
People buy intel because its cheaper.
DXMinecraft 1 month ago
@Falenir You sir, are an idiot. My i5-2500k has equal if not better performance than your Shitdozer 8150, with half the cores, at a slightly cheaper price.
Intel is the King; get used to it scrub.
loasolidsnakemgs 1 month ago
@Falenir You are a complete idiot hahahaha intel has mostly always been beating amd, even nvidia has been beating ATI cards.. not to mention ATIs crappy drivers.. lmao man stop generalising and get your facts right.
shamkuzi 1 month ago
@Falenir corect, between intel and amd are not so big difference, only the price it's different, BUT! between nvidia and ati are veeery big difference! you don't believe me?try an 3d surround and eyenfinity from ati, both with 3 displays and we will talk then!
as you know, ati came with 3d technology, but they are so suck! why? cuz ati don't have v-sync in 3d, so are alot of shits, alot of frame drops, alot of static there, they pure suck! at 1display vs 1 display are ~same but I prefer nvidia
kyme32 4 weeks ago
@Falenir ati 3d are based on cards, why nvidia are so special?because that tech are based on driver not on cards, if there are some problem, with next driver update it's gone, h'about ati?i don't think so...i'm not an fanboy nvidia,i just want something that are told to "work" and it works! ati sell the shit and they said it work, surprise! it didn't work like they say!and that's the bullshit of ati, it have grate cards, they work like hell in 1 display, but not in eyenfinity, or not like nvidia's
kyme32 4 weeks ago

TheSemperXFi 2 months ago
@14BSP a 2500k would be better for gaming then both of those cpu's
hotnndproud 2 months ago
@hotnndproud yea, but considering a phenom ii x6 is 40% cheaper than a 2500k, the phenom ii x6 is the better choice.
Wiifan4life 2 months ago
@Wiifan4life a Phenom II X4 Like a 955be or a 960t would outperform a phenom II X6 for gaming and it's still cheaper then a phenom ii x6.
hotnndproud 2 months ago
@hotnndproud Not true. They are practically the same architecture, just that the X6 has two more cores. You will get the same performance from an X4 and X6 at the same clock rate. Plus an X6 is better for general use anyways, so it makes more sense to get a six core, especially considering both of them get crushed by Intel anyway.
Wiifan4life 2 months ago
@Wiifan4life u got some benchmarks and stuff like that saying this?
a 6 core cpu is not worth it , no program will benefit from 6 cores except when rendering , so a Phenom II X4 is still a better choice price wise.
hotnndproud 2 months ago
@hotnndproud yea. look up the overclockersclub review of the 1090t or any review of the 1090t for that matter. You will see that in nearly every gaming benchmark, the 1090t, stock clocked, beats or matches the 965. In my opinion it makes no sense to not get an x6 if one thinks that it wont perform in games

Sinmantul 2 months ago
@Sinmantul Depending on your motherboard there is probably some sort of 'core unlocker' feature. Check the manual or online.
As for the overclock, this only worked on an FX chip with only one 'set' of cores enabled. Oh, and don't forget the constant flow of liquid nitrogen!

What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

awesome that this CPU continues the awesome black edition legacy with completely new infrastructure, way 2 go AMD!
