These guys are absolute monsters. I just saw them in Burlington Vermont last week, and I am still thinking about the show. Why they didn't get "big", especially after Emmy nominations, David Letterman, and of course their incredible sound, song writing, and ridiculous rhythm section, I'll never understand. One of the best live bands, ever.
probably one of the greatest bands i have ever seen live! i have seen alot of big bands live as well, but mute math were immense. It was a shame though, i saw them not at their best you could say, with the atmosphere of the crowd being dull (it was at leeds festival 2007)and being a band low on the bill only had 20 mins to play with...was a shame becuase i wanted to see them for longer :(
i agree with you 100%. they are totally, really the real deal. i love them. like i've always said, they were bound to be great and amazing. oh, so talented...
Supposedly, the instrument Paul Meany plays at the end is called an Atari. He said in a interview that it was made from left over trailer parts. Pretty interesting. Sort of like a fingerboard or something.
You're right it is called an Atari and at the end of every show he throws it into the crowd. I got a taste in Montreal! If you ever get the chance, go see them live.
they did get the parts off their trailor and then they got a sound chip from an old arcade game which gives it that spaceship laser kinda sound.and then they wired it all up and made the neck of it like a touch pad thing...they actually know how to wire stuff and create instruments.that makes them even more amazing
they are gorgeous!!!!!
