I downloaded your video and used it in three classes. The 1 behind the neg sign was great. Also, when I downloaded it, the correction annotation didn't come with it, so it was a great opportunity to show the importance of checking work as in, if such a good teacher can make a mistake on something like this, don't you think it's important for you to check your work also? I, of course, make mistakes all the time. Checking is the difference between a good and great student.
Great video. I plan to use it in my classes. I really like your explanation of combining like terms. I have a video of the dist. property as well, but more emphasis is placed on checking using a graphing calculator. Accept it if you want, but I think it goes really well with your video. Thanks again. I plan to view your screenshot video next.
My 7th grade math teacher gave a distributive property worksheet for homework, but only briefly explained it. I had trouble with the worksheet, but this helped me a lot! Most of the other videos about distributive property were too basic. but i do have a question. What would something like x times 3x be. Also what if there is a number in front of the parenthesis and behind it?
If there is a number in front of the parenthesis and behind it, you can start by multiplying those, then distribute that answer through to get rid of the parenthesis. We can do that because of the Commutative Property which allows us to do the multiplication in any order! :-)
The #2 is wrong ! It's should be -11c+47d

x(3x) would be 3x^2...3x squared.
If there is a number in front of the parenthesis and behind it, you can start by multiplying those, then distribute that answer through to get rid of the parenthesis. We can do that because of the Commutative Property which allows us to do the multiplication in any order! :-)
