Yeah, I tried using it about five years ago and around my teens. I hated it... nothing for my cystic or other acne. I have very oily skin. In the end, I'd give it a thumbs down as well.

I'm on Diferin and Docycline, and before I was on clinamycin and retin a, but then my skin got too used to those and broke me out again after about a year of succesfulness, and then about a month ago I got on these new ones, and so far not very much has happened other than my amount of those tiny annoying ones gone down. Has anybody had any siuccess with either of these??

oh wow i use Differin 0.3 every night before i go bed and in the morning after i wash my face i put on this thing called Duac and it works really well :)i still have a lil acne an acne scars tho..*sigh*

I have been using differin 0.1% for about 2 years now and got no results really.

I haven't found anything which cures my acne but using this on a night seems to moisturise my skin a little and cool my acne.

actually, it worked well for me. but i have dry skin already, honestly i think it made it dryer. and moisturizer no longer works for me, it's doing the opposite it should to. it burns and dries my skin.

the Adapalene Gel works for my moderate acne. but like you said it just keeps new ones from coming, it doesnt really get rid of current pimples. i like it tho, its good for my sensitive skin.

I've used Differin off-and-on for a while, but I've never really noticed anything happening to my skin. I actually find the product quite calming on my skin, but I don't know if it's doing its job properly or not.

Thanks for the info. My experience was similar to yours. Luckily I switched to Finacea and it works better for me. It is azelaic acid. Hope that it helps someone else! Oh, I only use it once per day (for me, at night).

Differin was horrible and did not help me at all. I got horrible sunburns when exposed to the sun for too long. As soon as I was in the sun for not even long at all my whole face would start to tingle and hurt so bad! I quit using it because I had to be in the sun a lot. But i believe this caused my face to become more sensitive and over all just red even to this day.

Ive been useing differin for a year now. I hate it!!! Its make my skin so thin(.... Ryming) that i BLUSH. i play a low and big instrument. The bass clarinet and thanks to differin i blush now ;-; it isnt just my clarinet. Its around guy friends to. And whenever i run. Hold my breath. Wash my face. Im generally healthy, i hate soda, lemonade and juice it takes me a week to drink one can because its so strong and monster drinks.... Take about 2 months... This made my acne worse. My skin red. I HATE DIFFEREN!!!!!! I had all the side effects and it took almost 2 weeks for the burning to stop it hurt so bad to step into the light and I couldn't wear even a tiny bit of makeup because it burned 10x worse I couldn't put anything on my face it even hurt to put water on my face I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have adapalene 0.1 and it only gets rid of my acne when I use it everyday. But If I mist a day a pimple would start forming so it does not work well on me.

Do you still have the article of this so called adapalene study on the rats? I would like to see it.

As well, it should be noted that in order for the rats to develop tumours, they were exposed to far greater amounts of adapalene than humans would ever be allowed to use, and were taking it orally, not topically.

So, yes. If you EVER got a tumour from using Differin, you're probably an anomaly.

wow that is crazy! thank you for the info!! i use to use differin, now i use epiduo. i liked differin, though, i thought it felt refreshing, and used a moisturizer afterwards. it definitely helped minimalize my acne, like you said, and my mom uses it because it definitely helps skin look young and slows down aging/wrinkles. so yeah, we've only had good results from it. everyone's skin cells are different and will react in different ways. but i will definitely tell her about the tumor thing!!!!!!

i got a serious breakout flare-up for 6 months last year (it got progressively worse) after starting my laser treatment. i finally went to my derm and he prescribed me the adapalene gel to use at night. my acne cleared in 3 days! i'm a religious Differin (.1%) user now. i mean yes your face would feel taut when you first put it on but i actually kinda like that feeling so i guess everyone is different. also i'd put a serum on top when the Differin is absorbed and it's all good :)

@davidy87 its definately worth trying. be sure to tay AWAY from the sun, or just apply it at night. Again, it didnt work for me very well ( did you see my acne before? "acne foundation routien fingertips"...lol ya...) but it may work different for others. Id say give it a try (out of the sun at night so you can avoid those tumors) and let us know your review! Theres epiduo too. good luck!

For your acne, you should try Roacutan! I used it 5 years ago and I didn't even had a bad acne but it was resistent. Well,it dries all your body cells,you have to have monthly blood tests, you can't drink or get pregnant AT ALL, but it's fantastic!! After finishing it,my doctor prescribed Differin for the rest of my life to AVOID acne.I stopped 4 months ago because here in USA it is extremaly expensive and my acne came back STRONG.So now I got my mom mailing me it and I started over..let's see!!

I know i use it on my skin, hair and nails, and i suppose it would be a good souce of calcium, but inm not sure if everyhting in there is edible or would react witht he body. it may be a choking hazard if it mixes wiht saliva! probably best to ask a dr orr nutritionist, but that sure does give me somethign to wonder/contemplate!

Hi Cassy! If Differin is not what you used to make your acne go away, what did you use to make your acne go away? I have had acne for about ten years now- I am 25. The only medication that has worked for me was Accutane (but it came back after I quit taking it) and Retin-A Micro (it worked until I stopped and then when I tried using it again, it didn't work anymore). I have no idea what to do anymore.... I am super oily and use ten full oil blotting sheets each day!!! :-(

try te aztec healing clay! I hhave a review on it and it is amazing!! also, as far as oilg oes use a cleanser at night and deeeeppp deeppp moisturizwer at night! that way your bod relies o that moistureizer, and does not creat its own (oil) so your oil levels and bacteria are muh more conctrolable! see deets in the acne clay video :) hope this helps and stay posted for the acne routine!!

@2A3109 i think that u should put ur SPF/moisturiser with SPF at the end cause the benzol peroxide might take it off and also applying it after everything will keep u hydrated =]

I used adapalene for a month, wich gave me like, 10 applications (i was using it 1 day then i skiped 2 days and used it again), really solve my problems with blackheads, but it makes my skin way more sensitive. Glad you talk about the tumors :) xoxo

I LOVED IT! I used Differin for 2 years and within the first 3 months my skin was completely clear, including no blackheads, whiteheads, etc. It definitely does make your skin tight (only when it is on your skin) which is why you are supposed to use it under or over a moisturizer. I washed with Cetaphil at night, put the different on, and then used Cerave to moisturize.

Oh, and there goes (of course) one more reason not to use this: animal tested. When my doctor prescribed it to me I didn't know that it was but had I known it I wouldn't have even bought it to begin with. A brand that really works for me is DELIPLUS (it's Spanish) and Weleda (none of them tests their productos on animals).

My docter gave Differin to me and she thought it would work for me. Well, i used it for a month i think and i stopped using it because i HATED it sooo much! It litterly made my skin peeling off ( i have oily skin ). And everytime i removed my EYE (not even my foundation or something, i didnt even use that by that time) makeup my skin burned like heck. No more differin for me!

@Gwisemua Yes, Differin is terrible. I´ve used SO many things to get rid of my acne, now i take Minocycline Sandoz pills. I took them last year and it got rid of my acne for about 8 months, now i had a major break out and i went to the doctor again and she prescribed them to me again. Those pills are the only thing who seem to work.

Thank you for your review! I never new about the side effects which btw are scary! I used to use it and had bad acne including cystic acne so it didn't really help. It would dry out my extremely sensitive skin. I have simplified my routine and it has helped a lot. Do you happen to know anything about cystic acne scares? If so it would be great if you could do a video on it. I have been trying to find information on how to get rid of my scars but I've had no such luck :/

I had acne all over my face, it was noxious and everyone was telling me it's grodd --'. One day, I bought mum something from the pharmacy and they gave me a hydrogel "Benzac Gel 10" I used it coz I was desperate, I swear it worked very well, I'm still using it.

@beautysbiggestfan1 oh and i forgot to add i broke out in a horrible rash all over my face when i used this once because i was used to just globbing it on my acne until my dermatologist told me i was supposed to rub it in so i used as much product as i did when i ususally globbed it on my skin and my skin stung and was red and rough SO ONLY USE A PEA SIZED AMOUNT AND DONT FORGET TO RUB IT IN THOROUGHLY:)
