Whenever i hear this song, im back on a hill called cracks hill in a village in england, watching the sunset on a hot august night, slowly getting as drunk as possible with my closest friends. Having fun. For that reason, it will always be among my top 10 favourite songs. <3 Counting crows.

Why is it so that i absolutely adore Counting Crows and especially this song, but never like any of their live recordings? It just feels like it's missing it's oompf or something. Usually I always prefer live versions, so I wish I'd get why that's not the case with Counting Crows.

@64ccd just go to one of their shows... you'll be converted! camcorders(unlike acoustic amplification) can't pick up low frequencies so it just doesn't sound the same.

Does anyone know if there is video of this song where Adam explains why he wrote the verse about the Last Pioneer Town Bar? He did it when I saw them years ago. He said they drove out to Joshua Tree and there was a burned down bar called Last Pioneer Bar and he wrote the verse lying under the stars that night. Really powerful. Wondering if its recorded anywhere?
