Imo, they've putted scenes are scenes with diff' chars, and putted some edit on it, and then putted the name of the name and so longer down on the screen. Of all the AMV's I've seen I don't think this is any special tho =/ Once you learn to make these edit stuff, everyone can make an AMV like this.

Hexagon is ez I thought of it like a hour after I watched this lol its super ez all you need is a couple tracks then u have one track with a hexagon masked out another track with a bigger hexagon masked out then with the bigger hexagon u put a color for a border. After that make sure u only see the out lining of the big hexagon that will be ur border then u will see the effect in the small hexagon. Then you need one more track for the regular full video becuz u did a multimask. I just tried it.

Make sure u overlap hexagons so u can only see the border. For the effect that the video is coming together with the hexagons is a little more complicated first you will need a track with the regular video then another track with and another depending on the number of hexagons u want the more tracks ull need. Then u get ur video put the video effect add noise with sony vegas. After that put that on ur full video track. Then put multiplul tracks and mask but put no video effect just regular. Time

Also make sure u save a preset for a big hexagon and a small hexagon becuz then it will become boring and its much faster and more accurate. Then its all about timing and where u put the hexagons and more sure if ur hexagon is to big to use the pan crop to zoom out with the mask to make the hexagons small after that is timing and keyframing. Some of the parts of the videos are stil framed shots in the beginning there just screen shots when he put them together then he put the video after.
