89 bronco II (211k miles) still on road, 92 Taurus GL (287k miles) 1997 Explorer (250k miles) still a daily driver, mercury tracer (142k) still a daily driver. Yep, driven a ford lately :-D
well, it is missing the contour, the car I drive. but If I didn't already own a ford, this probably would've convinced me to buy one! I think this is one of the reasons people don't buy cars anymore, the catchy tunes and slogans are gone, nobody has anything to get stuck in their head. I don't even know what the current slogan is, just that mike rowe sucks at selling cars. 1:15 was when ford made that mistake of hiring charlie sheen for marketing...
my parents had a '84 ford ltd 3.8 when i was born....learned how to drive with an '86 ford ranger 2.9L, then drove an '85 ford e150 conversion van with a 302 ci and now driving a '93 ford aerostar 4.0 with now 215,000 miles....go ford!!
Great Commercial! I am driving a 1996 Ford Explorer, and this week the odometer will turn over to 200,000 miles! My SUV runs great as ever, and IF it ever stops running, I will most definitely without a doubt, buy another Ford!
Great video, I rember Rickie Smiths Pro stock thunderbird,
I have owned one vheicle since 1984, my f-250, I bought it new in high school, and for 27 years that was all that I have Owned, and I never had a problem with it, Granted it only has 60,000 Miles, But all I ever have done to that thing was sheduled maintance and last year I had it repainted.
My wife of 20 years has owned 4 new cars and each of them has had something go wrong with them, and none of them were a Ford.
Awesome tribute. By far the best American car company, although if its American, it's automatically 100 times better than a rice-burner. Long live Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, MI, USA!!
Ford really is the best American car company. IMHO... Best history, best racing heritage, best global presence. Just a shame Lincoln sucks as hard as it does (boring old fart brand, not nearly as prestigious as MB or BMW), and ford doesn't even bring its best small cars to the states (Ka would of been better than smart, and focus RS would of been sweet) Even still, ford rox.
How are there 2 dislikes? This is a great montage! The only American car company to not declare bankruptcy... I love my 2 Mercurys ('78 Colony Park wagon & '05 Grand Marquis LS) and I loved my '88 LTD Crown Vic.
I don't like fords anymore, but I must say you did an excellent job putting this video together. where was the cheesy 90's "oh how happy you can make me" though?
I grew up with Ford's and though I will drive Chevy (have an Astro now too) I'm still true blue oval. I own an LTD and was glad to see a very short cameo of two (interior of girl sleeping) (3:56 LTD Crown Victoria). I've owned two rangers, and full size truck. I can't help it, I just love them.
Hell yeah I love B2's. I'm in the process of rebuilding the engine in one right now. I bought for $300 off a guy after it's been sitting in the pasture for 10 years. Put fresh gas and oil and what not and it fired right up. I drove it for about a week before I had some lifters seize up. It was running on 3 cylinders and it's still do about 40 or 50 mph Lol. So I pulled the motor and figured why not go ahead and rebuild it and soup it up a bit. :)
@Nintendoman2020 I agree the Ka is really funky yeenage girls love them here and have become something of a cult, if marketed properly in the US i'm sure they would have been a real hit there,
@takutaq I totally caught that too (before scrolling down to the comments) and the lack of wood paneling around the door handle makes me think this is mid-80s LTD Crown Vic.
To the poster: where did you get the clip used at 3:27?
@czarpeppers Yep...so glad we have the Falcon over here. Mustang is good but it's only 2 doors and then you'd only want the V8 model anyway...and it's still on leafsprings...
ford is North America's manufacture. GM and demlar Chrystler went bankrupt. the tilte was given to toyota. But we all know toyota is japanese. so teh title goes to Ford by default.
WOOOO!
Ford F series best selling vehicle in America, FACT
Toyota & Honda build reliable cars. But they sure don't have quality when it comes to pickups. The F series are the king of pickups. Econoline Vans are built like tanks.
Olds was the first auto maker in America. But it was hardly the best seller. there was one or two years in the mid 1970's that Oldsmobile had had a #1selling vehicle. The Olds Cutlass but that was it.
Here is a list of American car sales in order of brand popularity for average years:

MrThestig8 2 years ago
No! Oldsmobile was never "America's Car". Chevrolet had claimed the title to America's Car, because it was
number one in sales since the late 1930's.
But now that GM, including Chevrolet is a government owned entity, It is verboten!
So the title of America's Car goes to FORD!
