  • I've been watching this series non-stop. The first most liked comment is one talking about the seriousness of the movie, the second is a remark towards how hot Jim is. <3

  • the beginning to 2:45 is the best scene i think, the overlapping music and everything it gives me shivers every time

  • I Don't Get This Movie But I Lovee Eeverything And The Beatles Songss ' Can Someone Explain This Movie To Mee ??

  • This is a brilliant movie. I love it.

  • ok so whats with the girls dancing on water? that part confuses me

  • @etb1245 the song itself is about an amusement park ride.

  • She did Helter Skelter amazingly. But nobody can sing that song like Paul <3

  • i cried basically all the way through this scene

  • sorry but i got say that i liked the movie but i prefer the part that they weren´t singing because i think is like bad comparade with the beatles so i skiped some part that i thinked that was horrible

  • sadie is so hardcore

  • dude what the fuck was up with prudence in this scene??

  • Stupid police,leave them alone!!

  • dude what does the part at 2:39 mean

  • @CriticalTman013 who knows

  • @CriticalTman013

they all look like Prudence b/c it corresponds to what she said earlier about soldiers going to the villages and rapping girls who look like her ( meaning Vietnamese girls)

  • @KKislitsyna you are a master a decoding that nice...... nice.....

  • @CriticalTman013

well i can't take all the credit i watched bonus features on Across the Universe redbox rental. Movie director gave that explanation to this particular scene :)

  • Why are they taking lucy in the first place? this movie confuses me.

  • get shivers everytime

  • wtf jude didnt do anything why was he in jail

  • @MsBobohj cuz back then the police did that crap and some times they do it now

  • Cam someone tell me the point of the chinese mermaid people? seriously, can someone tell me?

  • @MrParamorevamp I believe that ''the Chinese mermaid people'' represent the veitmanese people that were killed, and when they hit the water, it represents their deaths, when their bodies are piled up,it shows their graves.but thats just my opinion-please forgive my spelling

  • @MrParamorevamp i think it sybolizes all the vietnamese woman who were killed.

  • @TheGardenpartea I think we're all on the same page. Max is killing people who look like one of his best friends- the Us/Them dynamic that war fosters, that the They are so different from the Us that there is some justification in killing them breaks for him because he knows the Them aren't so different. I think Max sees bodies in the water- the dead women and civilians. The eastern philosophies entering the US counterculture came from the place we were destroying.

  • and thats the last time he sees her..for a while

  • This is just such a powerful scene. I have goosebumps the whole time.

  • Who was Charlie? I forgot

  • 2:20 wtf?

  • Jude!!!!!

    charlie,.... CHARLIE DIED!!!!!!!!

  • Jude gets deported

    Max gets hurt

    Lucy tried

in the end you cant stop war no matter what you do the people whom start them are nasty greedy ass holes and will watch people die to get what they want.

  • Lucy is a dumbass. But I guess I would do the same for my brother.

  • @MikeUlo777 what did she do?

  • This movie is SOOOO epic!!!

  • The girls on the water sembleizes the dead in the conutry

  • the part when jude and lucy got seperated by the cops just made me cry :(

  • I BAWLED AT THIS PART!!! Best thing I've ever seen, so dramatic, like how they mixed the songs :D

Also at 2:30 the woman on the right you can very clearly see the platform she is standing on XD

  • GO SADIE!

  • This part is so sad...one of the parts that make me cry.Poor jude

  • i hate how she sings the song

  • What's with the freaky asian chicks???

  • oh .. my.. god..

    what happened to max.

  • i love jude's liverpudlian accent ^-^ something about it just makes me get all tingly. i love it. it's got to be liverpudlian-not just british. because british doesnt do that to me. maybe its because i love the beatles lol but it just does something to me lol ^-^

  • THIS MOVIE IS SO INTENSE !!!!!

  • freakish but beautiful sequence in the beginning. Second part of the movie where I cried.

  • I like Sadie,she's awesome!:)

  • @Nikyd98 and sexy, too :D

  • i had to favorite this part.

  • this whole scene is so emotional...

  • THe song Helter Skelter and this scene represents alot of things going on, but mostly the violent state of transition the entire society found itself in. Fighting itself both in Vietnam, here at home, on campuses and in homes among loved ones. You could call it birth pangs of a society about to be reborn, figuratively speaking.

  • this is like one of my fav scenes in the movie, they shoot it rly cool

  • The girls that it shows, the "vietnamese" girls, represents all of the young women and girls raped and killed by soldiers, both american and vietnamese, and the scene with the girls just floating in the water, with all of the masks is an actual photo, not quite as such, but there is one similar from that war.

  • and thats why they cast TV carpio as prudence, when she first came in through sadies window, she was beaten by the man she was living with.

  • supposed to be about Kent?

  • I think it's a little inspired by the Manson family murders, because of 'Helter Skelter'

  • you do know that this song was out before charles manson became a killer.

  • I know I meant the movie is making a reference to it since Helter Skelter was one of charles manson's favorite phrases and he made all those claims about satanic backmasking in the beatles songs.

  • you also seam to forget that this movie is about a messege of love, peace and lack of war, it has nothing to do with sedistic serial killers set on murdering the woman they create families with

  • It's also a period social commentary, with all the stuff on the draft, vietnam, MLK,and the Haight-Ashbury. I just saw some similarities in that the dude getting arrested had a sort of cult of personality with all of his assistants, like the Manson "family". I realize the plot is not about serial murderers but a lot of it is open for interpretation and that's something that kinda jumped out at me.

  • whats the song that sadie's singing called?

  • It's helter skelter

  • Helter Skelter

  • Did youtube take down the sound from this video?

  • made me cry

  • ha ha

you can see the blank firing adapter on his M-16 at 1:31

  • i dont understand the girls in the water..explain?

  • they are like the innocent people that were killed in the war

  • you can shoose (:

use your own fantasy.. or something xD

  • i cant watch maxx like that i just cant he looks so scared after hes done shooting his gun ... look at him it makes me feel terrible

  • D': war is fucking up his head (MAXX)

  • HELTER SKELTAR!!!!!!!!

  • when it shows max at like 1:58-2:00 i die inside!!

he looks so scared and sad :(

  • whats the name of this song?

  • You have 'Across the Universe' and 'Helter Skelter'.

  • is that lucy at 0:15!!!!

  • what happened to lucy?

  • gosh when jude says "no" and is halfway crying -- it's so sad! when i was watching it i was thinking "GO TO LUCY! DON'T GET SEPARATED AGAIN!" (: lol

  • Sadie really butchers Helter Skelter...

  • DISAGREE

    She's raw

  • Totally xD

  • When Max looks up, his face is so innocent and childlike...I love this movie.

  • at about 2:10 btw

  • well, i thought it was when max killed viet women and their white because they are neutral and in a surrender state and the masks posed as the enemy

  • wtf is supposed to are the white women?, aliens?, girls with flour?

  • They're ghosts of Vietnimeze (sp?) women

  • Sadie can sing this song! :D

  • amazing.

  • the us govermet regardless of weather hes from mexico canada or france he is still a illegal alien

  • best scene in best movie with best actors in world!

  • who the HELL would kick Jude out of thee country?

he's too good looking for that shit.

  • i know oyee.

  • Hahhaha. Agreed. :D

  • Haha. Agreed :)

  • @liddoleighleigh maybe he put the americans to shame because he's so dead sexy

  • so intense :''(

  • jai guru deva om is in the ending of the song "across the universe"

That's meditations' sentences, it mean "i thank you, my divine teacher" (scuse me for my english, i'm french)

  • nonsense!

  • Imagine, there's no Hatred

I am sure one day you will

    Not of pointless insane words

And just the trues word of Love

  • Damn, cool song crossover

  • what does j'ai guru deva om mean?

  • I give thanks to Guru Dev, om.

  • I think those women symbolizes peace.

that it was destroyed during the war.

    I think... :-)

  • j'ai guru deva om

  • that's actually a good idea. =]

i know they're vietnamese women. that's it, haha. when max is screaming "Die! Die!" when Jude's getting beat up, there's always a tear in my eye..something about that. <33

max definitely has a 1000 yrd stare.

  • I know for a fact that the women, when they fall mean that it was the fall of Vietname. but I dont know what else.!

    I hope I help :D

  • But the Vietnamese didn't fall (well, the South Vietnamese did) we pulled out in 73'.

  • Comment removed

  • those women in the water are the creepiest thing ever.

and the only part of the movie i don't understand.

could anyone explain them to me??

  • Vietnamese women that died during the war.

  • When the Vietnamese women fall in the water are there masks next to them?

  • I think so

  • why are there masks?

  • no O.O

  • why did they arrest lucy what did she dooo anyone plzzz???

  • nothing. lol

she was up top with paco leading the protest.

  • They wrote the song together. John told Paul he wanted to write something heavy and loud after he went to a heavy metal concert. John was inspired and impressed by the attitude and energy of the genre and started writing the song right after the concert.

  • whats with those creepy people in the water

  • they represent the women (or maybe just Vietnamese people in general) that died during the war.

  • oooo cleverr =)

  • woahh.

    O.o

    how did you know that??

because that really was very very

    clever

    :))

  • i still dont understand the naked women who fall over

  • You're completely right & I stand corrected! I was going on reputation, but Paul did write some pretty badass songs!

  • think of it doesent jude and lucy remind you of paul and linda? then max and prudence cause they connect so well remind you og john and yoko

  • Prudence swing the girls way tho

  • I think Jude was Lennon, and Max was Paul.

  • I would argue in the opposite direction- Lennon was characteristically wild and Paul was (is?) the sensitive one. Just look at the difference between Helter Skelter, which John wrote, and Blackbird, which Paul wrote.

  • actually Paul wrote Helter Skelter, John wrote Across the Universe and Strawberry Fields Forever. these songs are extremely sensitive when you get the meaning of what they're saying, they aren't just random mumbo jumbo thrown together.

  • That's what they want you to believe.

  • I think you're right.

  • The way Max yells during war is crazy. It just makes you feel as if you were right in it. Youre so scared you go crazy.

  • this movie is sooo deep!

  • this part is so mest up

  • wow those white people look like the grudge. its so creepy

  • this movie is rlly good but its also creepy, espeacially the ppl fallin in water.

  • this movie is so dramatic...i love it.

  • The people falling in the water, creeped the hell out of me. Especially when i saw it in the trailer for this movie. I don't really get it...

  • i think, i dont know lol

  • The Vietnamese (sp) women falling in the water represent the women and children that died during the war. In a nutshell.

  • ugh wats with the white ppl falling in the water =/ thats just creepy lol

  • its symbolic for dying peace

  • ohhh

    :D

    thanx

  • Wat was with the wite peple falling in the water?

  • i would have too!

    lmao

  • i dislike that scene with the white people falling into the water. i mean it's a stunning picture but it's kinda random and unnecessary to plot or mood.

  • I love Sadie's voice! \m/

  • i have many vietnam vets in my family... they went in mentally sane and came back all fucked up

  • sadie is doing janis joplin

  • yeah that's who she's supposed to represent in the movie. she also gets her name from the song "sexy sadie"

  • Oh, REALLY?!?!?!? LOL

  • i really like sadie's voice in this song; but the beatles did it better XD

  • favorite scene of the movie<3

  • wow. this movie is so powerful. i'm just kinda speechless at the moment, but i still love it.

  • Gah...

    Sadie's voice just...

    Kinda...

    Kills the cool mood...

Sorry, guys, I am just not a fan of hers...

You can thumbs down me all you want...

    But...

    It's true.

  • Ah, don't worry. your opinion. (:

  • I agree with you!

  • yah sadies voice a little over the top if you know what i mean

  • Yeah, but she can pull it off. And it fits this part of the movie.

  • This film's just too good. it gives me chills

  • jim's voice is reminiscent of ewan mcgregor's

  • 2:08 made me cry.

  • me too ..but it was so powerful!

  • wait who was that guy at the end?? that like visited jude?

  • His dad from the very beginning, the reason he came to America.

  • they had naked people before...you can have naked people in movies without it being rated R

  • just like in Marie Antoinette or the Titanic

  • i didnt understand what the white painted people were for. it is so random how they fall in the water

  • i think they represent to what happened to Vietnam

  • whoa. just whoa.

  • happened to me at a protest against the war in iraq

feels like shit when theyre all talking down on you and grabbing you and crap.

  • :( omg i cried when i saw lucy and jude split like that

  • Why were the police grabbing Lucy?
