yeah, but in the real world, Britain and America stands at the same point of views as allies most of the time. So Britannia in Code Geass is only an implication of the two. They just didn't didn't want to make it too obvious. Basically, Britannia is America with a British Monarch.

It isn't really in the future, it's an alternate world, since there has been well over 90 Imperial Leaders during the rule of Britannia, for how far it's in the future that would only suggest that the US never existed in this anime's history. In fact it could be an atlernate history of what if Democracy never flurished in North America, and a Monarch government was formed insted of a Democracy when the 13 Colonies became independent, Remember it was said George Washington was given the choice.

Actually I read on Wiki that the alternate history of Geass didn't really diverge from modern history until the Napoleonic War. I personally believe that USA probable did seceded from the Empire like it did in our history, but the remnants of the Britiannan military invaded America with everything they had in the early 1800's and expunged its existence. Remember the US barely survived the real War of 1812, which British troops did take Washington. while still combating Napoleons war machine.

On her death bed, she named her lover to be the next ruler of the land, thus establishing a new royal lineage, The lineage of Britannia and the first holy emperor. He reformed the land in America, establishing Area 1 and consequently britannia. Also, Marco Polo discovered Sacurudite on his trips in Japan and named it the philosophers stone.

You forget that Knightmare's armor is like paper compared to those used on mobile suits in the Gundam universe, Zaku's can take direct hits form Tanks for example, and it's one of the weakest mecha in the Gundam Universe. Machine gun used by Zaku could disable a Knightmare with 1 shell for example, let alone the beam machine guns, beam rifles,beam bazookas, shell fire bazookas/cannons, nuclear bazookas *ouch time those are* scatter beam cannons, cluster missiles, eta eta.

I really do hope the people realize that the relationship between Britannia and Area 11 is exactly the same as the relationship between Japan and Nanjing... and the other areas of Asia they tried to conquer a long time ago. That is a significant concept that is frequently overlooked.

I've watched the entire series 4 months ago (twice, because it was awesome). I was simply making a real-life, historical connection to the ongoing theme within the series. I just get annoyed when ignorant fans watch this and fall hard for the way the creators victimize Japan, yet they overlook the fact that Japan, and other powers, including the US and Germany, have partaken in the abuse of other countries and races. The anime depicts this theme powerfully, but can be horribly misinterpreted.

Oh? Except... often it's not. One piece for instance. Tell me that that series was only mutilated because that's how stuff sounds in English? And tell me that "Death" = "another dimension" (the euphemism used in the DBZ dub). Do "chainsaws touching your leg" send you to the shadow realm or cut your legs off? Evangelion made the word: "Heiki" into landmine, but a more appropriate translation of it would be bomb (mostly because they were used as bombs in the anime)

To be honest, I don't think the Japanese voice fits lelouch very well, since his voice sounds too deep. Keep in mind Lelouch is only 17 years old, a teenager, so the English made it sound like he was a teenager, the way he should sound. The japanese voice is fitting as zero (since the black knights doesn't know he is a teenager), but the english is fitting as Lelouch.
