@jokerhull96 No, it's a very linear game but the environments are large enough to explore because the game doesn't really give you a hint of where to go, but you'll soon figure it out. If you're getting this, I highly recommend buying the orange box. It is well worth it.

Played this some six hours when it came and was like "what's the big fuss about" and stopped there. I was spoiled with the leaps from Doom to Quake to Unreal earlier. I'll have to System Shock as well.

Halo was similar experience to HL. Great game, I hear, a lot, but oh so underwhelming compared to the types of leaps in gameplay experiences and graphics experienced during 80's and 90's. I had great time with the first Mass Effect. Sequels are too oft. cash grabs. Star Control 2 excepted.

The Episode 3 is no longer a funny "valve time" joke but rather a depressing trend that Valve has stopped caring for the series that made it famous. A total of seven years since Half Life 2, a larger gap then that of HLF1 and HLF2 and that gap is getting bigger. Wasn't this the reason of episodes? To not wait 6 years for a sequel? Oh I'm sorry, we passed 6, we're moving on to over 7 years now with no word.

Guess Gabe is more concerned for Hat kiddies on tf2 and the profits he can milk from them

Are there any other shooters that have gravity guns? That's a big reason why this game was so great. There aren't many games that let you interact with the environment the same way HL2 does.
