  • I agree, too... I saw the show and I thought it was great they included this amazing artist and his work, but I wish they had mentioned that he can communicate using ASL. Great catch on that and thanks for bringing it to light here!

  • Hi,

    I saw the show too. They didn't mention ASL as his mode of communication. Many hearing people automatically assume that if someone can't speak then it means they can't communicate! Jessie had his intervenor there to facilitate communication between Michael and Jessie. Yes Jessie was communicating through tactile and ASL but it doesn't mean he can't communicate.
