this is mainly because:
1-he speaks plain and simle language, avoiding formalities and adversries need to change their tone to speak to him but they lose when they enter his territory.
2-ahmadinejad is not scared of anything or anybody. this makes him indifinetely strong during the debate.
3- ahmadinejad can remember many points and facts and just bombard adversary constantly.
