@adamwestslapcat It has nothing to do with their abilities. Wisdom, courage and power are symbolic. If they gave actual power then Ganondorf wouldn't need all 3 to begin with, he'd stick with his Triforce of power and be done with it.

As much as you'd like to see Link as a powerhouse badass, that's not the point of his character. He's a hero. He starts as a nobody but through courage and adversity ends up saving the world. This isn't Gears of War where everyone is jacked up on steroids.

@adamwestslapcat It wouldn't make sense to the story. Ganondorf symbolizes power, being the main antagonist and seeking absolute control of the world. Link symbolizes courage, especially putting aside his own childhood for the sake of Hyrule. Zelda is constantly guiding you in the right direction and knows what needs to be done to restore order to her kingdom, so there's your wisdom.

If you've played through Ocarina you start to realize just how intricate these roles really are.
