It's religous to be covered, allowing hands and face to show... it's culture (mainly because of taliban) to cover everything with the Burka. It's a part of being dressed modestly for their body to be seen only by husbands, as opposed to western style of letting it all show which leads to sexual activies outside of marriage... @viirreei, encourage and teach women to be midwives in each village of Afghanistan. Those trained women could then be responsible for delivering the babies and perhaps attend women when complications arise during the delivery. However, there is no solution for serious problem during gestation, unless they create a special curriculum for Afghan midwives with specialty in gestational issues. For this idea to work, women need to be interested in the positions and the men need to let them study too.
