because your character shoots to the left,

because all it does is move the camera to the right a little, it doesn't actually change the angle of the survivor :[

Valve should fix that in an update.

also, I don't like how the crosshair has that "slippery" effect.

Actually you can fix the aim in thirdpersonshoulder mode. Your just have to edit all the "c_thirdpersonshoulder" options in console to your liking. I often play in thirdperson mode, and it works just fine on long range, a bit off on short, but it works...
