@juhnrafael99 I have a lovebird too, I'd say close the room's door and our window and spend some time with your bird for first one or two weeks. You dont have to do anything special, after your birds gets used to the situation, he/she'll start to get closer to you. After some time, you can open your door (with other windows of the house closed), and then you can be more relaxed about this.
Maybe you dont have to bother this much, I was so scared that my bird could get away, so I was cautious.
wow, i really love what you are doing... i wanna do that someday... its fun and happy... please share more... how did you do that... i tried to breed african, but its been 2 years but thier eggs doesnt hatch... i really want to have my baby love birds like that too...
I'm 62 i seen a baby bird trying to fly we work the docks a lot of big trucks i tried to move it with my shoe toward our dock door amazingly it jumped on my shoe with its wings opened looking up at me saying I'm helpless so i watched it for a bit had to go to work and i never seen it again and a friend said a magpie got it i started to tear and walked off because i never seen a pretty bird as that one it was a strange colored bird a beautiful i wish i could have saved it.
That's a funny joke! I needed a laugh, lol. No, it is not true. That is just a stereotype based on scientist's careless naming of the species. They should have named them African Blue-rumped parrots then no one would ever say anything.

3 days ago i got a 2 month fischer`s lovebird (handfed). he/ she eats good, no prblem there, but he/ she only sleeps almost all day. is that a good sign? is it normal?
thanks for sharing this vid. makes me wanna hand raise again. time prevailing i mite take it up again.. however i dont think i could feed so many birds at once. threes bout the most i could manage.baby weiros love their beaks rubbed and wiped with water too after feeds.
well i have parakeets i would love to have a love bird...wen im lookin for one i would love to get 1 from u how much and i live in boston so that mite b a lil trouble...thanks
Too dog gone cute! I've raised many birds over the years but not lovebirds. I have 2 as pets. My male is 17. I hand fed him from 4 weeks old. My hen was weaned when I got her and she's not nearly as friendly as my male. She is 1 1/2. I'm planning on getting a nice young male next year and setting her up for breeding. Right now I raise Gouldian finches.
ive got three questions for u ... first is ... how do u get these babies to like u guys soo much (trainnin.).. 2 where r their parents and 3 .. what breed r the ones with the green blue n yellow. i have 2 love birds n they cant like me theyre about the same age as those thank you
Damn it i live in the UK you guys live in US i wish i could get a bird from true love aviary you really do raise them PERFECT :) good luck on your next babys :D
yea mines are male and femaile but thier pretty young. i got em for free,, i know a guy that breeds them and i could have gotten a cockatoo or love birds, and i saw one like ur lil golden love bird, ur bird is beautiful!
It depends on their age and whether or not they are male and female. Though, we have heard of cases where two females will lay eggs, infertile of course.
They are soo beautiful. I would like to thank-you both for posting these vids they have been a well of info for myself along with the help I have received from forums.
oh darn they are so Lovey, I adore the coloring and the names ya picked too, I was hoping maybe Michigan as thats where I am located I breed to but havnt gotten such colors as of yet...
We pull our babies at 2 weeks to start handfeeding depending on how many babies their are. We wait a little longer if there are 4 babies so that the youngest is no less than 10 days old. We pull all at once.
PLEASE help me, I have watched all of your videos, and think your babies are truly wonderful. I have a pair of breeders, and already have 2 babies, now I have more eggs. I have some questions to ask....can we talk?
No, you do not have to. You could start holding them a little at 2 1/2-3 weeks of age everyday and then return them back to mom. This is called co-parenting. ...when i do start feed them?
No, you do not have to. You could start holding them a little at 2 1/2-3 weeks of age everyday and then return them back to mom. This is called co-parenting.
I have 3 baby lovebirds and two of them were splay legged. Because the mother started attacking them, I had to remove them and hand feed them. Because I was worried about them being hungry in between, I would le the daddy bird come in and feed them as well and he would never attack them like the mom.Now they are really tame too. Why dont you do that to ease the burden?
Hi there. These babies are on the verge of weaning and do not need to be fed more than 2 times. In fact, they are refusing food if we try more than that. It is because they are eating most of their food on their own!
Have you noticed that birds bring out the best in people? My lovebird is in love with my umbrella cockatoo. He can't get enough of her. She kisses him right back. They love to play together on the floor.
thats true i put it on my chest and first it slepped and after i lied down to and it walked up my face i laughed so much its like if there your babies
Yes, they can mate and produce offspring, but it's not a good idea to mate those two. They are different species of Lovebirds and are likely to produce sterile babies. Mating these two types also is frowned upon in the lovebird world for the fact that doing so dilutes the two genetic lines. Because of practices like that, we could lose species of lovebirds down the line.
There is nothing cuter than baby lovies that age. This year was my first raising babies, and 5 of them were lovebirds. I loved it, they are so fun. But now I miss them of course.
They should start weaning around 7 weeks. Don't force wean them though. Let them also fledge (fly) until they wean. That way they learn that the baby food prevents them from flying very well, thus they start eating more on their own. If the start chewing on things in the brooder, put some food in their mouth (hold it for them) and or leave some available!
hi, i just wanted to know... where are their parents? are u completely in charge of their feeding? i just wanted to know cuz my lovebirds have babies and i am just leaving the feeding to the parents, but i was wondering if it would hurt for me to feed the babies once in a while... ? or will that just ruin the feeding patterns of the parents?
Hi! Their parents are in their cage (they are our breeders), but no longer feeding the babies. In order to have tame, sweet pet lovebirds to raise and sell, we remove the babies when they (or the oldest) are around 14 days old (sometimes, for example this clutch, when there are 4 babies, we will let the oldest get to around 16 days to give the youngest a couple more days with the parents). Also, when they are around 14 days old, they no longer have to really be fed around the clock.
When the parents raise the babies, you will get more "wild" birds. If you ware going to feed the babies, I recommend taking it over completely. Now, if one or more of the babies doesn't look like it is getting fed enough, I would remove the babies then. Closely monitor the babies and parents to make sure that the parents don't kick the babies out (there are various reasons for them to do that such as creating a new nest or thinking they are invading their territory, etc.).
You probably noticed how wonderfully social these babies are, and that is because we handfeed them and play with them so that they recognize us.We did an experiment in the past and left the babies in longer, and this led to them recognizing the parents for food and not being as social at first. We really had to work hard to get them more tame and trusting of humans. Hope this helps!

You know why mom was attacking them? Cause mom wanted her babys to fly and the babys said no.

FEED THEM MORE Y DUMB BO. u ONLY feed it 2 times u stink, feed them more
malikahsan1990 4 years ago

Can Fischers and Peach-faced lovebirds mate and produce offspring?
FatJan 4 years ago
Yes, they can mate and produce offspring, but it's not a good idea to mate those two. They are different species of Lovebirds and are likely to produce sterile babies. Mating these two types also is frowned upon in the lovebird world for the fact that doing so dilutes the two genetic lines. Because of practices like that, we could lose species of lovebirds down the line.

There is nothing cuter than baby lovies that age. This year was my first raising babies, and 5 of them were lovebirds. I loved it, they are so fun. But now I miss them of course.

When is it they start weaning normal like in weeks? reply back when get a chance
daTrickmang 4 years ago
